Beethoven's 3rd (2000)
Stupid Movie
All actors can't act. The dogs are not cute. The bad guys are utterly stupid. The girl that Brennan has a crush on looks 10 years older than him. The "climax" of the movie (if you can call it that)is totally flat. The plot is hollow. The whole thing is just bad. I only watched the movie to the end to see how much worse it could be.
I never like "family movies". But there are a couple of them out there that are pretty cute. This one, is just not one of them. Why don't they let the dog do more? Why don't they find some actors can actually deliver the lines convincingly? Why don't they write a plot that makes more sense? Do yourself a favour, don't watch this movie. It's a waste of time. It doesn't even entertain!
The Godfather (1972)
it's good but over-rated
All these years people have been praising this film to no end. Yesterday I watched it for the first time just to see how good it really was.
First I feel quite disturbed. All the brutal shooting, wife beating, and all forms of killing and hurting made me quite uncomfortable. To me, it makes no sense to glorify violence to such degree.
Put the excessive violence aside, this movie is not bad. I was not bored at all while watching it. But do I get the same satisfaction after watching Schindler's List, Taxi Driver, or Lord of the Ring series? Not really. Will I see it again? Probably not. To me, once is enough.
Matilda (1996)
What's so good about this film?
I just can't see the "fun" in this movie. I find it incredibly boring, stupid, and cheezy. "Cute" and "Good for every age" seem to be the common praises for this movie here. Maybe I don't appreciate it the same way most people do, but I simply cannot see the cuteness or the goodness. By the way, I saw this movie at The Super Station. Right after "Matilda" was aired, "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "The Wizard of Oz" followed. Now those two are what I call "fun" and "great for every age" movies. By comparison, "Matilda" is just so inferior to the other two. I am simply amazed how many positive reviews are posted here.
