The Sandman (2022)
Put that wokeness into my veins baby
Hahaha, no one cares, the series has always done what it wants, so yeah it is just awesome. Surreal and ethereal it gives you a journey to follow that is worth it. There are wondrous moments, brutal moments and brutally wonderful moments, just enjoy it. The art design is flawless, that is splendid and if you are new to the series it will keep you on your toes. All up after waiting decades they got to make the version of Sandman we deserve, updating parts sure, but it still has that same beating heart.
Also more shows need to just drop a bonus episode or to, that was a real treat.
If you do have a problem with diversity though they are still making more seasons off Yellowstone, so you gotta be happy with that.
Seventh Son (2014)
Abides
John Snow doesn't make it far, Dorian Grey just shuffles through with an ok performance, but the Dude, he abides with a cheesy scene eating performance.
Licence to Kill (1989)
You get so much Q.
What a film, Benicio del Toro as a Bond villain is so great. But Wayne Newton, well god bless him, he revels in this type of roll. So much Q in the field is icing on the cake.
Drive Hard (2014)
But I am biased.
Fun stupid movie with Thomas Jane not being Thomas Jane and John Cusack going Grosse Point Blank. Best part it is filmed where I live, Gold Coast, so yeah car chases down the road near where you live is a nice bonus. Mostly though just fun and stupid, that is what you get and expect nothing more. Also they seem to think Aussies are gun mad, so many shootouts, that old lady rocked it though.
Our Popcorn Movie Dystopia - Some More News: The Movie (2020)
Sure it is perfect
But there better be more boars in the sequels. Just not enough boars. I deny that I am a shill for big boar, this is simply not true, lies spread by pink meaty humans who do not fully understand that the future belongs to the Boars,
Also can we have a home alone sequel where Macaulay fights off boars, that would be nice.
Warrior Nun (2020)
You either are going to love this or meh.
I love it, such great talent and an interesting world to delve into. Yes I admit that it slumps in the middle, but it more then makes up for it in the later game. So yes can not wait to see what follows, but I am deffinetly sold.
Agora (2009)
If she had lived
We may have known her full story, but she didn't, so this is what we have. A martyr science and an end of an age, what a movie.
Crime Story (1986)
Just adding my ten stars.
What can I say, both Stephen Lang and Ted Levine are brilliant as always. The surprise is of course Andrew Dice Clay, who was perfectly cast and fits right into the group of misfit villains.
Sunshine (2007)
An experience.
What a cast to carry it all the way though and emotional journey. Even when the film flips towards the end, I never had a problem, they set it up fine but yes it is unexpected. One of my all time favourite films and I always highly recommend it.
The Dead Don't Die (2019)
I had fun.
Ok this on the surface is self aware tripe, but I like that. Give me the fact that Driver is acting alongside Murray and you have me. That is it, a self aware D grade movie with class A actors, then this is it. Did not disappoint.
Little Monsters (2019)
Is this the best we got
I really wanted to like this movie, Lupita Nyong'o is awesome, the concept is very Cooties and I like Josh Gad for this. 17 mins in though and the white male Aussie protagonist is so repulsive I just want to punch myself in the head. The thought that this creepy arse wanker being the focus of this movie repulses me. I honestly thought this was another movie from the trailer, sure it may come good, but I am not investing in that. No I am walking away.
Paradise Beach (2019)
Needs to be watched in French
Not realising it was a French film I watched in the default English dub and that was bad. Also gave it a better rating then some because I liked the ending and how the brother in law got all boss in the end. All up not boring but Thai people deserve better.
The Art of Self-Defense (2019)
Eventually someone gats hit.
Ok I am finally watching The Art of Self Defence and I have a question, two really. Is this the. modern day Fight Club? or a better version of the Joker?
He Who Dares (2014)
A bad movie, but not boring.
I think I gave it so many stars because I really enjoyed the cliche nuttiness of the main villain holt.
I guess this is what you get when your budget only allows you to rent out a car park to film in, but the worst part was the choice of artsy video effects, that was the worst.
I need to say though, I was never bored, it was such a competition in working out who was more inept the Terroists or the SAS. But there was highlights, like the high guy being knifed to death to finish him off, classic.
Avengement (2019)
Scott Adkins is value for money.
I first noticed him in Accident Man, which was based on a comic that I had loved. Then caught him in Triple Threat, which is just a great film. This is more down to basic low budget revenge film, it plays it tight and has brutal action. So yes worth a watch, simple story, great fights and that is what you get.
Liu lang di qiu (2019)
90s style disaster flick taken to a new level.
The movie is fun and yes it is a joyful CGIfest. You watch it for those moments when you say in disbelief "really they are going to do this?" and then they do it. So yes catch it if you can and have fun, this is not a remotely serious affair.
