Marple: Why Didn't They Ask Evans? (2009)
Sllllllooooooooow and conveys nothing
90 mins dragged into 4 hours and they still didn't convey enough of what Marple said in her summation.
I found Bobby and Frankie annoying. Don't give yourself a cover if you can't handle it. What kind of detective can't shut up and listen?
How does a retired officer handle a murder? Where was Slack? Craddock? Hell, even Sergeant Lake.
Marple: At Bertram's Hotel (2007)
Every episode is more unwatchable than the last
Why is the music so loud? Why does miss marple sit there smirking while other people solve the crime? Why is it so stylized and gaudy? It's hard to believe it's the (early?) 50s with the heavy handed flashy feel and anachronisms. Why do they cram in crime after crime like they couldn't decide which story they wanted to tell so they told them all.
I can't watch this version again for a couple of weeks.
Marple: The Sittaford Mystery (2006)
corny
I don't know why they made it so campy and overdone
Joan Hickson's version was so nice. It's hard to watch this scooby doo-esque .... and i watch scooby doo every weekend.
Charmed: Source Material (2019)
Who's writing this?
Who tf is Fiona and how did she restore Harry's powers? What kind of treatment removes demon genes? Why is everybody in love in 3 episodes??
I'm trying to make it to the end of the season but the acting is so bad and the plots are so bad and the plot holes are ridiculous.
The elders made Marisol an elder even tho she broke the necromancer out of Tartarus? The elders don't know Charity isn't in Tartarus? The elders don't know about Fiona??
Charmed: The Replacement (2019)
The plot holes are the size of black holes
So Macy was stillborn and Marisol assembled the shards and broke the necromancer out of Tartarus in, what, a few minutes?
Even if she had Macy at home, smh
Charmed: You're Dead to Me (2019)
This is stupid
Every single storyline is dumb.
Stuck in England? What kind of whitelighter gets stuck anywhere? Walking around Manchester aimlessly? Wtf?
Parker, Parker, Parker. Enough already!
Charmed: Witch Perfect (2019)
Passable
I wish they'd do more demon stuff and less family stuff.
I'd even take more relationship stuff (lesbian and hetero) and less family stuff. I hate trickling out stories. Exposit it all or shut up! That's my motto
Charmed: Keep Calm and Harry On (2019)
Back to the craptacular
I see this show is going to be 2 steps forward, 4 steps back with the episodes. Jingle Hell was so engaging but this Tartarus thing is sooo WTF
Quite convenient of Charity to remember Alistair on the elevator wasn't it?
I started this halfway thru the episode but the ending was better than expected so I bumped my rating up.
I don't know what that reveal was supposed to mean tho. Is Mel really the oldest? No they know when their birthdays are. Does Maggie have whatever darkness Macy has? She couldn't see Galvin's mark. I don't know what bearing it has in any case. Their parents aren't around to play out any love triangles or drama so who cares what men Marisol bounced between? DNA will never replace their childhood memories that Macy don't have...
Charmed: Jingle Hell (2018)
Better pleased with how this ended
I'm so glad they didn't drag this demon boyfriend out for 3 seasons and a wedding *rolls eyes*
Buuuuuut Harry going to Tartarus is ridiculous. Leo could orb into all kinds of places. Harry is weaker than Leo?
Charmed: Bug a Boo (2018)
Still crappy
I wrote my review of this episode on "Out of Scythe".
They all crap in together. Still struggling to watch because I miss magical shows but I feel like I'd be better off watching a documentary. Or the Kardashians.
Charmed: Out of Scythe (2018)
It's getting crappy again
First and foremost, WRITE YOUR OWN SHOW!
We did the "sister that should've been first to know is last to she's dating a demon" thing. It was crappy then, it's crappy now. If they want to pay homage to the first Charmed, just stick to things like the P3 level of buildings.
Also, I thought we were getting away from the whining and constant "Moooooom" but here we are. I gotta say that when Charity first showed up my first thought was "ooh a female elder ok". But going to the opposite extreme of the first Charmed isn't an improvement. I laughed at the first posts I saw complaining about the feminism but seriously now that I've seen the Elder Council, I have to agree. I don't understand this Council and I hope Mel dies like Prue.
I want to watch this show but it's hard, very hard.
Charmed: Kappa Spirit (2018)
Ok good episode
I like the bonding with Harry and all the magic involved. If they can keep this quality of writing up, the show has potential. They are still the worse 3 actresses I've seen since I stopped watching daytime soap operas but I can live with that if there's enough magic per episode.
Also if they're moving everyone's personal life to the back burner to do witch stuff full time I'm down. I didn't care much for their struggle with normal life in the first Charmed and I don't care now. I'm here for the witchcraft.
Charmed: Other Women (2018)
sooo boring
There's nothing more too say
more whining and crying. more "it's because of meeeee" wails.
are we gonna fight any demons, learn any spells or just sit around crying and talking about mom? cuz if it's the latter, i'll go rewatch american horror story.
The Twilight Zone: The Masks (1964)
Thanks, Father
The thing that gets me the most about this is family is he raised them. Didn't he?
If he didn't, then he sat back and watched them become what they became and never tried to intervene.
Thanks, Father
The Twilight Zone: Night Call (1964)
Takes too long
15 mins is too long to watch a lady freak out over a bad connection. Especially when she hing up so the guy could call smh
Could've been creepy if it moved faster
The Twilight Zone: Number 12 Looks Just Like You (1964)
Poor Marilyn
The most annoying part, aside from the mind numbing airheads, was the leotards the women wore. UGH
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Am I Not Entertained??
I am entertained. I watched it 2 nights in a row and I still want to watch it again. That's more than I can say for AOTC.
Still there are quite a few nagging bits, in no particular order.
1. Why are trained people dumb as knobs? Poe turned off HIS radio, not the whole communications network right? So when Leia said to retreat they ALL heard her? Why did they continue?
2. Speaking of Poe.... He's supposed to be the "Han Solo" right? Was Han ever that big of a... wad? (I don't know what the language restrictions are here.)
3. We watched Obi-Wan confront his dark side padawan. Watching Luke do it with Ben is not riveting.
4. Finn is a loser of epic proportions. I don't know how they expect a franchise to succeed with him in it. Also don't know why Rose is hated more than that loser.
5. Speaking of Finn and Rose, they wasted time and resources on saving a ship that was destined for destruction and got the resistance killed. Who's writing these stories now? Depressing much?
6. The Supreme Leader was cut in half. Who are those red dudes fighting for at that point??
7. Luke....I can't even go on.
So despite all that, I'm more investing in Rey now. The Force-Time calls with Kylo really drew me in. They should've had those in Force Awakens. I would've been onboard sooner.
That being said, there was a very strong "Changing of the Guard" feel to this movie and the idea that Good is now represented by Poe and Finn and Evil is Kylo Ren is laughable. Especially Kylo. He needs a nap and a snickers ASAP and then he might be an effective/believable Dark Lord.
Emma (2009)
This movie does not make me look forward to reading the book
This was a tedious 4 hours to sit through. What a silly movie. I'm not saying it was beneath Jane Austen to write a comedy; I wasn't expecting it though. I also watched the Gwenyth Paltrow version and remembered it as being silly. The only thing is - I didn't know that this was the basis for Clueless when I watched it. This time I did know and so I sat drawing parallels. Watching this raises my opinion of Clueless but I digress.
The one scene I did really like was George Knightly's declaration. I was very moved.
This is Jane Austen Lite which is quite weird since she wrote it herself. There is no character comparable to Wickham or Willoughby. Churchill is closer to Mr. Collins than either of them. There is no character comparable to Elinor or Elizabeth. BBC adaptations are so faithful that I fear reading the book at this point.
