Our House (2022)
Want to turn it off
Only less than 10 minutes in and I want to turn it off.
Who returns from a night away with no luggage.
Flip to 10 years earlier and the house decor is the same.
Acting isn't great, but then so far neither is the story, or the script.
Black Widow (2021)
A bit of a marvel film for grown ups
I thought this was pretty good, i enjoyed Natasha's back story, as well as the action which wasn't overblown, it felt that the characters gelled well and you cared about them. At times it felt like a bit of a bond movie, but that's no bad thing.
The Clown and the Candyman (2021)
An ok documentary
The first two episodes are informative about the two killers, I felt the remaining two episodes dragged a bit and could have been made into a single episode. Worth a watch if you are not aware of these individuals crimes.
Nightflyers (2018)
Not as bad as some reviews say
Whilst it's not perfect it's certainly watchable. Each episode brings something new. It's a mix of sci-fi, horror, and something else which I won't give away.
I felt all the acting was strong, and characters were well developed, I liked it.
Run (2020)
An excellent example of how to create tension
I loved this movie. As someone of a certain age who has watched many great movies, it makes me so happy to see a modern excellent thriller like this shine as a perfect example of how a movie can create tension without relying on the quite quiet bang technique other film makers rely on to provide the thrill. This is on par with the brilliant get out in my humble opinion. It definitely deserves a watch.
Marvellous (2014)
Just lovely
I can't believe I missed this when it was released . It is such a funny heartwarming tale.
COBRA (2020)
Great political drama
Is it people of a particular political stance that are giving this negative reviews I wonder?
Anyway I thought it was a stellar performance from all involved. Though there were some parts I thought why would they do that, in some of the scenarios. I would certainly still recommend it. Will there be a second series to resolve some outstanding questions? I would like to think so.
Criminal: UK (2019)
Gripping did he didn't he story
Just watched episode one. The storytelling was excellent. Great performance from Lee ingleby
Didn't look at my phone or watch once throughout the whole episode.
Velvet Buzzsaw (2019)
Pathetic waste of time
After watching this, you will wonder what you could have done for an hour and a half
The Outsider (2018)
Poor
2 hours of..........nothing much really
Sets looked great, shame about the lack of plot that was dragged out far too long.
Attack the Block (2011)
Garbage
This could have been so much better if you could actually care about the characters. From the outset the main characters are seen as unlikeable scumbags who mug a defenceless woman at knifepoint. The muggers show no remorse for their actions and only befriend their victim because there is something in it for them, i.e helping one of their injured gang as they discover she is a nurse. I wanted the creatures to tear these characters apart. This film left me feeling angry that the director could put out the message that it's OK to be violent and unremorsful for their actions towards women and be seen as a hero.
