A Murder to Remember (2020)
Horrific
The stupidity of nearly every character in this "movie" is beyond comprehension. Ann Rule must have been drunk when she wrote it.
Dr. Phil: My African-American Daughter Believes She is European-American (2018)
Commando Parenting?!?
I cannot believe the only solution you can provide the girls mother is "Commando Parenting", which sounds like simply being super strict. I've no idea what they can do to straighten her out or perhaps more importantly just keep her safe but I'm certain being strict won't be enough. I've no idea what else would work but that's why you get the big bucks Dr. Phil. Please, help her for real.
Pride of Lions (2014)
Baaaaaaaaaaaad-uh!!!
Beyond idiotic, this "movie" is the biggest piece of tripe ever. I cannot believe anyone even partially connected to it would allow their names to be printed, ANYWHERE. This was so bad, I was laughing at the start, became insulted by the mid-point and gave up 42 minutes in. If anyone got paid anything for this, they should man up and return the money or donate it to a charity. Well, they say they need 10 lines soo..... Lizzie Borden Took an Ax (2014)
The Music Makes the Movie!
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The performances were excellent as was the overall "feel" for the era. The quietly building tension, the muted rage, the "staying proper at all times" imagery, even the costumes helped bring the story to the screen and the overall horror to the audience. References to the era nuances, such as the doctor's liberal use of morphine to calm Lizzie's nerves, were both entertaining and educational. All the aforementioned was terrific but what really drove the movie home for me was the unexpected use of raucous but well timed "modern" music. Entirely appropriate in its timing, every piece used was perfect for the portion of the movie with which it was placed. I read an earlier review stating that the music ruined the movie for that particular viewer but I couldn't disagree more. For me it brought the movie up from a 6.5 to a solid 9. It was thoroughly imaginative and excellently performed.
A Dog Year (2009)
"Coulda-shoulda-woulda"
This "coulda-shoulda-woulda" been a good movie, but for 2 things: 1. Bridges sleepwalks through the whole thing. True, writer's block is a distressing scenario, particularly for a writer but I didn't get distress from Bridges, I got ennui. He mailed it in. 2. They took a brilliant story idea complete with potentially fascinating characters and intriguing plot twists, then ground it into the dirt. Toddlers and Tiaras: Universal Royalty Christmas (2012)
Super Creepy Parents
The father of the 9 year old newbie competitor and the mother of the 3 year old were both so strange I felt like calling Childhood Services but settled for turning the channel. Do any of these parents ever consider what they're teaching their children? Do they even CONSIDER their futures?!? This show has gone from being mildly entertaining to just plain weird. It's become plain, old lousy television and I won't be watching it again. Apparently this review needs 10 lines, so here goes the rest: It's become plain, old lousy television and I won't be watching it again.
