Star Trek: Lower Decks: Strange Energies (2021)
Easing into S2
Kind of a light episode to start off season 2 but lots of fun. Loving the continued references to Gary Mitchell, hoping it's leading to a time travel episode featuring Kirk, Mitchell and Finnegan at Starfleet Academy.
Sort of a greatest hits format, nice use of holodeck, mild body horror, a Tendi/Rutherford B-plot, and some fun call backs. Loving the music, the attention to detail is so sweet.
Chip 'n' Dale: Park Life (2021)
Absolute genius
Oh this is brilliant. Very inventive, anarchic, silly and surprising. It's not in any way Rescue Rangers, these are the chipmunks that menaced Donald Duck in the old days. This is a great revival in the spirit of the new Mickey Mouse shows.
Masters of the Universe: Revelation: The Power of Grayskull (2021)
Strong start
Well they said they were going to do it and they totally did. Feels like a natural evolution of the Filmation show, up to the big divergence, which needs to happen so that we can have a plot. Not sure how well it all works for newcomers to MOTU, as it's designed for people bringing prior character knowledge, but they do spend a little time on introductions so probably ok. I'm not super happy with how a couple of characters react right at the very end, but again the story needs to happen so what're you gonna do?
Masters of the Universe: Revelation: The Forge at the Forest of Forever (2021)
Enough He-Men?
Tired of flash back cameos and doppelgangers? Got yo covered bro. Should tide you over to part 2.
