I Heart Huckabees (2004)
I don't know what my friends were talking about...
I just watched I Heart Huckabees the other night, and it reaffirmed my belief in IMDb. I saw that it had a good rating on here, but when I talked to a couple of people I know they said that they didn't like it...
But I agree with this site's opinion on it.
I thought it was good. Dustin Hoffman and Lily Tomlin were awesome. The twisting plot lines were perfect. I think my friends were trying to make it make sense, when really it wasn't supposed to... I loved the unpredictability of it all, it kept you interested. It was enjoyable and interesting, but don't watch it just expecting a romantic comedy, because it isn't!
Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous (2005)
Maybe not FABULOUS but pretty good!
I just got back from the pre-screening of "Miss Congeniality 2" (a friend and I got the passes from our university newspaper, we had to go to their office and sing the song from the first Miss Congeniality, that Gracie sings to Eric. Embarrassing, but hey, it got us a free movie!) anyway, it was much better than I thought it would be! When I first heard that Miss Congeniality 2 was coming out I was disappointed, because I really liked the original and was afraid that the sequel would ruin it, or detract from it. But it didn't, I actually enjoyed it and laughed out loud several times. Diedrich Bader does a very good job as Joel, Gracie's stylist. I think he'd be my favourite character. It was funny to see Abraham Benrubi as someone other than ER's Jerry. Anyway, I digress. All in all it was an enjoyable movie, not the best ever and not better than the original, but definitely worth seeing. I'd give it 6.5 or 7 out of 10.
House of Sand and Fog (2003)
Wonderful!
"House of Sand and Fog" is a beautifully written, superbly acted drama. It is a tragedy, so watch it with a box of Kleenex! *
Ben Kingsley, who, in my opinion is one of the best actors ever, gives a wonderful performance as Colonel Behrani, an Iranian man who buys Jennifer Connelly's (Cathy's) house that is wrongly repossessed by the city. You can sympathize with both sides, because neither is in the wrong.

The camera work is exquisite, and combined with a stellar cast, makes for an Oscar-worthy movie!
