Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004)
Worth It, but...
Lindsay Lohan is a wonderful Lola. She really did the Drama Queen very well. Also Alison Pill did well as lola's best friend, Ella.I really like the character Ella, because she was a goody-tow-shoes who thought she was going to grow up and be like her parents, but she goes past that and faces her fears with Lola. "Because of you I'm brave enough to be different." is one of my favorite quotes by Ella.
Sam, the boy Lola likes besides Stu Wolf, should have been in there WAY more. The first time I saw Lola, Sam, and Ella all together as a trio i loved them. They're such a cute trio! Sam popped in and out of the movie only a few times.
I can connect to Lola in a few ways. One way is i think of music the same way as her. It was kind of scary at the part when she gets disapointed when she finds out Stu Wolf is a drunk and she can't talk about his music with him, something like that just recently happened to me. I found out some stuff like that about one of my favorite singers that I was disapointed about. But i still love their music.
Another way i connect with Lola is her daydreams. I kind of have the same daydreams as her. I loved how they did that in the movie, with the cardboard-like pieces and everything. I thought that was cool.
Carla, the mean girl of the school, was not like i thought she'd be like in the beginning, but as the movie went on she got meaner and meaner. I got so mad at her when she was telling everyone that Lola didn't go to the party and everyone believed her, because I know how Lola must have felt. If I had the chance to meet a star that a girl I hated wanted to meet so bad AND crashed his party, and then no one believed me, I'd feel really bad and annoyed.
The play at the end of the movie was ok. Some parts of it was cool, sometimes it was a little bit strange. Maybe it was because I didn't see My Fair Lady.
The scene at the end when she sings "That Girl" was really cool too. I really like that song, but the song that got to me the most was the very last song when she explained the end of the story with Sam and everything. I haven't gotten the soundtrack yet, but I want it really bad, mainly to hear this song. I was listening to the lyrics, and I instantly loved this song. It's sung by lindsay, and it's about changing the world. I always have new songs that describe myself, but this may be the newest song to add to my list. Hopefully i'll get the soundtrack soon.
The teacher was really goofy and one of the reasons this movie was so funny. i went to see this movie with some friends and i was sitting on the end with one of my best friends next to me, and we kept giggling. There are many parts in this movie that are really, really funny.
Another thing in this whole story that got to me and really made me think was the change Lola caused. she caused a change in her best friend, a change in the most popular girl in school that also wanted all the attention, and a wonderful change in her rock star crush, Stu Wolf. "A wonderful person told me I was a drunk. And I didn't like it." I think the quote by him was something like that. When i saw the whole scene with Lola and Ella when her friend told her how she had changed her life, i couldn't help thinking, "I wish I could do something like that for someone." I want to make a difference, just like Lola.
I think if you made a few changes here and there this could actually end up being my story. Except you'd need to change the title too. I think Confessions of a Teenage Dreamer would do the trick. In conclusion, this movie was good. I think the book might be a little better though. I can't wait to read it! I'd give it a 7/10.
The Lion King 1½ (2004)
It was a gas! lol.
Lion King 1 1/2 is a great idea! I love Timon and Pumbaa so I wanted to see it right away. It's funny, interesting, and has some really nice parts.
The whole thing is really Timon and Pumbaa watching the movie and as you watch it it switchs back and forth from the actually movie and them watching it as siluettes(sp?). One of my favorite parts of this is when they decide to do a sing along with Hakuna Matata.
The story starts out with an interesting idea. Timon lives with his fellow meerkats who do nothing but dig. "Life's a tunnel we dig it too." Timon doesn't fit in in the digging team, or on sentrey(sp?) duty. He leaves his mom and uncle to find his place, bumping into no other than-
yep, you got it.
RAFFIKI! lol! Raffiki tells Timon to find Hakuna Matata by "Looking beyond what he sees." Timon sticks by that, and soon bumps into Pumbaa. They set out to "The Big Pointy Rock" (Pride Rock) to find a dream home. Though when they get there, everyone else is there too, celebrating baby Simba's birth. Pumbaa tries to tell Timon to go around because he isn't good in crowds, but he won't listen. Soon Pumbaa does his thing and you'll find out why all those animals bowed to Simba lol! "It was a gas!" Timon described it.
Timon and Pumbaa continue passed Pride Rock to try to find a dream home. Though their dream homes get interupted by scenes that you saw in the first film. These parts in the movies have to be some of the favorites. Though I wish they made them a little bit longer, they were still really, really funny.
Timon gets a taste of Parenthood when they find Sumba, and you get to watch funny clips of Timon's parenting days along with two cool songs, Jungle Boogie and one of my favorites, The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
when Nala comes along, Timon and Pumbaa try their hardest to not make them feel the love tonight. They actually make it better, even thought they did have that fight.
Nala tries to get them to come help Simba defeat Scar, but Timon stays in his dream home with his Hakuna Matata. But when he meets Raffiki again, he realizes his Hakuna Matata is with his friends. He races after Pumbaa and Simba to help them.
After driving the Hyennas away with a hula dance, he meets up with his mom and Uncle Max again. To help Simba by driving the hyennas away again, Timon gets a plan with-
dare we say it-
tunnels. lol! When they need more time destracting the hyennas for the plan to actually work, you watch a funny scene where Timon makes a "preposal"(sp?)
The plan works, after Timon dives down under the hyennas after it at first didn't work. The hyennas fall down the tunnel where they pop out the other end and here Scar blame everything on them.
Timon takes his family and the other Meerkats back to his old dream home, where they can live happily every after and have to dig no more tunnels. That's when everyone lives happily ever after.
Don't forget to watch the very ending, which is realy, really cool!
Uncle Max is one of my new favorite characters. The Hyenasa are still there with him, but they looked a little different in this movie. Banzi looked way different I think when he says his line, "And I thought beans where the only musical food." But I still love them.
Uncle Max was hilarious with his jerky, panicy, and angry personality. You can see a small change in him at the end of the movie, which is really cool.
The songs, oooh I love the new songs! I have the soundtrack and listen to it almost everyday. I love the Lion Sleeps Tonight and the new Dig A Tunneh is a great, catchy song. i really like the new That's A I Need as well, sung by Nathan Lane.
I love the actors in this movie. Timon and Pumbaa's voice are GREAT! You can't get any better than that! i was happy to realize that Nathan Lane was in Win a Date With Tad Hamilton (didn't notice until he was yelling at Tad on the phone though lol!) and I was really surprised to realize that the voice of Pumbaa is Mr. Petrachelli on That's So Raven!
Well, this movie was not better than the first one, but for me, they're both almost about the same. I recomend this to others, and I DON'T believe this will ruin the magic of the first one unless you force it or demand it to yourself.
I'd give it a 8/10
I love the ending, where all the meerkats sing about how Timon is the greatest meerkat they've ever known. I also like the very ending, which i won't spoil incase you haven't seen it. but it's a great and very clever ending.
BUY IT NOW! lol!
Seventeen Again (2000)
"I'm seventeen again!"
I think this movie is really good. The two divorced grandparents who seem to hate eachother's guts realize they still love eachother when they become seventeen.
Grandmother Kat tries to make Grandpa Jean jealous by going out with Sydney, her granddauther's crush, Todd. The popular girl wants Jean, and thinks Kat, who's pretending to be Sydney, wants Jean too.
Sydney has other problems. She loved her life in L.A., only now they moved to the small town, which she hates. she can't seem to fit in, and the popular girl doesn't help at all.
The grandparents become seventeen again by Will, the grandson's experiment which went out of control and spilled onto the grandparents' soap. When they used the soap, this caused them to become seventeen.
All the events happen while the parents are back off in L.A. to help an Aunt with her baby, and the grandparents are "baby-sitting."
I love the music in this movie too. I love the scene where the two grandparents go dancing in that place with all the jazz. I love that kind of music.
Overall, this movie is very good in my opinion. The Mowry twins and their younger brother do very well with their characters. Tahj(sp?) was in a few scenes, but his character played a big part in the story, making the expiriment and all.
It's a happy ending. Grandparents are grandparents again, and planned a wedding- again. :)
Pixel Perfect (2004)
A great surprise!
When I first heard about this movie, I was sort of into it. It seemed ok, but I wasn't sure if I'd watch it. Then I saw a music video for Notice Me, and I really wanted to see the romance in this movie, so I decided to watch it. So I watched it and I liked it, but then it got to the end when Loretta, the holigram, goes into Sam's mind after Sam falls off the stage. I love every single scene after this moment. I was just so into it and so excited and I loved how they did Sam's imagination and everything and how lorreta goes into Sam's body so she can feel everything, and I just love it. I also love all the emotions that everyone goes through. I like some of the music too. I done like the beginning of Nothing's Wrong With Me, but it's allright. I hope to get the soundtrack.
Overall, I love this movie, the beginning is ok, but i get mostly into it towards the end. It's a great movie though.
Exploring the Reef (2003)
Exploring The Reef
I loved this short 7 minute long film on the Finding Nemo DVD. I thought it was very funny, and unique. I was really surprised when I saw dory swim by. I thought it was just going to be exploring the reef. I love how they put the characters in there. I would have liked it even more if the Tank Gang was in it, though. lol! :)
