Rurôni Kenshin: Kyôto taika-hen (2014)
Nice movie, some good some odd changes
As a fan of RK since young, (seing Trust and Betraya AKA Tsuikohen OVA, Reflection AKA SEISOUHEN OVA, the new shin Kyoto arc, the 95 chapters of the anime and the 24 volumes of the manga) i was a little exceptic on the movie. I believe its well done there's action when needs to be, but there are the dialogs that characterize Kenshin always, his reflections, his life, so you wont start with actions scenes fast in this movie. Sanosuke here its more as a buffoon, than he is normally but on the anime series he was a mix of serious character and jokes like kenshin but here they sometimes tend to overact the joke part, but he gets his serious moment and hes anger moments like in the anime/manga very often very good. SPOILERS If you seen the first movie you now that Aoshi doesn't appear so his background has changed but its very well adapted the change, the actor portraying Aoshi didn't look good for me for the part as one has seen Aoshi, but he did a good performance and the fight between him and the Oniwabanshu leader was nicely done. There's a change but a good one between the first soujiro and kenshin fight. MEGA SPOILERS The thing that shocked my most was the farewell of kenshin and kaoru it was on daylight with no cherry-blossoms, which where the characteristics that made that moment remarkable. Also people would know it would be hard but Anji's, Hiko Seijuros character wont resemble the originals, but two Japanese like that i think would be hard, and Chos's last sword as everyone would expect has changed.
Predestination (2014)
Beyond normal
This movie its beyond normal it starts with if i put the person who ruin your life in front of you, what would you do? and ends with do we have a choice to what we, can we change the important moments of our life. This movie its about a time traveling cop, that goes to the past to prevent crimes being made, and its working in a case about a bomber, that has killed hundreds of persons, and in the process he mets a man who starts to tell his story, you will see there's something quite different from the man, but as the movie goes on, every idea of what you thought its twisted gets a new name, as the movie continues, as you see the relationship of every moment of the life, and every aspect. Its real hard to talk about it without giving spoilers, but a word in mind, mostly 0 action, a lot of talking, slow paced movie, so you have to be ready to see it and a fan of sci-fi movies and time traveling.
Gravity (2013)
Too much cliché and errors
I saw this movie because of my wife, i still don't know why it has so many nominations on the golden globes, because its too much cliché, and predictable. We see Sandra Bullock with a parasitic hero type, a hero that doesn't know much, that lives at the expense of others, and get by things by pure luck without not really knowing what to do, like when she tries to start the space shuttle, by luck, besides the fact that how one see her lack of preparation on being on a space mission, the parts i thought were worst were, first NASA didn't knew the debris was gonna hit the space craft then just when its gonna hit them they get a message that they're gonna be hit by the debris, so how do they miss the calculations on space of that magnitude, but the good part its she wastes her O2 by screaming and shes a doctor and she lasts longer on space without o2 than with o2 and she enters the craft without hallucination or any sings of o2 deprivation but when she tries to kill herself on space just getting on orange levels of o2 she hallucinates, so tell me similar events and in the one with less risk she gets bad and in the other its like nothing happen, and in the end she had to stood up and walk byherself alone and not waiting for others like the big hero she was. I didn't find the purpose of the movie nor the good thing of it,
