Where Love Has Gone (1964)
Mother-daughter?
Did anyone else think that that Susan Heyward was a little old to play this part, having babies, etc? Aren't she and Bette Davis close in age? I will say that Bette Davis has never looked better. She always had those beautiful eyes but she made an awesome silver haired fox in this movie. And how handsome the man playing the "husband" role. I've always liked that actor (name escapes me) but didn't realize what a wicked handsome man he was in those days!
I love the female players and love watching these classic movies, no matter how camp. But the selection of "Mother/daughter" struck me as odd.
I gravitate to the movies with these two actors. Strong women both. And I loved the fireworks in the movie.
Tusk (2014)
Tusk Review
I'm not sure why anyone would find it necessary to make a movie of this nature. It's creepy factor left you with a long lingering disturbing feeling long after the movie ended. The acting wasn't particularly good surprisingly because these were good actors. It's almost as if they intentioned it to be this way. Maybe some effort to become a classic B-cult movie down the road, who knows. It was a depressing downer. I didn't like the movie, the acting, the subject matter, the story line and would not recommend it to anyone, even the most devout trashy B-horror loving gross factor, blood and guts fan. Didn't like it. Wouldn't recommend it. Would just really like to get it out of my mind. I'm not sure that is possible. It's like I have taken a big bite of something truly nasty and nothing can make the taste go away. The last movie I hated this much was Eraser Head.
666 Park Avenue (2012)
Review of 666 Park Avenue
This show started out with great potential. Good story line. However, as weeks went by, it just fell short of expectations. Terry O'Quinn was excellent in his role. However, the other actors including the 2 female leads, Vanessa Williams and Rachael Taylor just fell flat. The show was fairly boring with Rachael Taylor forever running around the hotel bumping into silly pseudo scary events that never ever seemed to develop well. Spoon feeding the interesting parts with a tiny baby spoon stretched out over 4 episodes. Rachael's goody two-shoes relationship with her husband was not believable. Vanessa Williams was boring; her role contributed nothing to the show other than Terry O'Quinn's wife - their relationship was not believable either. If they had made the characters more interesting with a little more depth and added some authentic action, might have been a great watch. Back to the drawing board with that one. Really needs a overhaul.
