Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie (2023)
The nostalgia. The tears!!
And as fast as it came, there goes the last we will ever see of Monk *sobs uncontrollably*. As much as I love that we got another taste of the Defective Detective, this brings back the heartache of the show ending all over again.
But atleast we got some more laughs, some more Adrian, and more of the crew.
Just wish Sharona was in the movie, and also they never mentioned what happened to Ambrose Monk. Adrian keeps saying he's alone, but he always had his brother.
I guess I will now have to go back and rewatch the entire show again. For the sixth time. Because as good as the movie is, it doesn't have the same magic as the show.
Renfield (2023)
Nicolas Cage IS Dracula
The movie itself was meh. Predictable. Funny at times. Definitely a lot of gore. The fighting style of Nicholas Hoult in this movie really makes me think they grabbed his fight choreographer off the set of Xmen when he played Beast, and had him do the same thing here. If it weren't for the casting, I probably wouldn't have watched the movie.
But the moment I saw Nicolas Cage in the trailer.... OMG. I knew I had to watch this. He IS Dracula. He's perfect in the role. I'm not even a fan of his, I was just pulled in by his portrayal of the character in the trailer alone lol.
They need to make a prequel focusing on Nic Cage in this role. I mean - RDJ was born to play Tony Stark. Johnny Depp is Jack Sparrow. And Nicolas Cage is f-- Dracula!!
Mayor of Kingstown (2021)
Season 2 can't come soon enough
Love it! Can't wait for more. Renner is wonderful in this, conveying Mike's wavering strength in each episode in a way that makes you want to just wrap him up in a hug and never let go.
Made in Chinatown (2021)
Better than I expected
Tbh I really need more of Lawrence's fabulously flamboyant kung fu. And though the acting is horrendous, the writing does make up for it. Worth a watch.
Resident Alien (2021)
Absolutely loving this show
Must watch! Alan Tudyk does such a great job in this. He's hilarious to watch, and I look forward to every scene he's in. I hope this show has many more seasons!
The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020)
Perfectly splendid? Not really.
Perfectly splendid? More like perfectly boring. It was trying to be complex simply for the sake of being complex. It didn't work. It just made it tedious to follow, and as the episodes dragged on, barely left me with the interest to even try and remember where we were in the constantly changing timeline.
The scares and eery atmosphere weren't up to par at all, and the characters....I couldn't have given a bigger f about the characters. Unlike the first one, where it sucked you into the story and you experienced every heartwrenching moment alongside the siblings, this sequel was a mere shadow. A wannabe.
I do want a third season, please don't get me wrong. But this was such a huge, anticlimatic disappointment after waiting for so long.
Cursed (2020)
Can't stand those Mary Sues
The show has potential, but they've made the main character too Mary Sue. Reminds me of a well written fanfiction. Although, I have to say, Merlin's character is intriguing! Would love to know more of his backstory if there is a season 2. All in all, worth a watch.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Two words
This sucks.
Two more words: don't watch.
Three more words and one anacronym: this never existed, imo.
AJ and the Queen (2020)
More!!! MOREEEE!!!
The drag. The queens. The men. The dialogue. Louis. More. MORE! MOREEEEE!!!!!
