Run (I) (2020)
A well-made trailer based on stereotypes
27 January 2024
1- The distinguishing point of the film is that all the main actors of the film are women. Maybe the insistence on this issue has caused gaps in the script. Dayan's past and secret need more focus and accuracy in the script.

2- The acting of the main actors is very good and the cinematography is the same and some sequences are excellent with subtle editing.

3- The attention to technique in the films of recent years has been noticeable and the advancement of technology has had a significant impact on cinema.

4- The film finally becomes a central cliché and the end of the film originates from this.

A myth called "Hepburn"
20 August 2023
It seems that the biggest challenge of making the movie "Wait Until Dark" was choosing and convincing an actor for the negative role opposite "Audrey Hepburn". One of the notable points is that "Audrey Hepburn" was a nurse at one point in the World War and she nursed the Chinese-born film director "Terrence Yang" in the war. The movie is a classic drama/thriller and follows the rules of the classic movie well. Almost more than 80% of the film is in the domestic location and we have seen classic decoupage. Light is an important category in this film, from the title to the burning blindness and darkening of the apartment, as well as night and day and the curtain that keeps opening and closing. The choice of location is smart, and the other thing is that the movie is a movie adaptation of a show. In some minutes, it gives the audience the feeling of watching a show.

A psychological thriller

A psychological thriller

A crime/psycho thriller based on an adaptation of a novel that the director does well in this difficult film. This film is one of the films of recent years, after which two films were made in the continuation of this film. This movie has received a lot of attention and is suitable for those interested in the psychology of cinema. The soundtrack tries to create an atmosphere of dread and although it succeeds in this, the soundtrack seems to be overdone. In 2011, David Fincher adapted the same novel and made a movie with the same title. Definitely, the success of this movie can be effective in making it.

Somewhere in the middle of nowhere
6 May 2023
A film that has won 4 Oscars and more than 150 nominations or other film awards. In this movie, Clint Eastwood once again shows his ability and love for cinema in the best way. Many fans and experts consider this movie to be his best movie. The film is excellent in directing, especially the use of light in the film is done in the best way. Therefore, filming is also exemplary. The film won 4 Oscars for Best Film, Best Director, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor. The film has no expiration date and remains in the historical memory of cinema lovers. A strong drama far from any clichés that prompts the audience to think about the meaning of life. Life is a combination of defeats and victories. It is a mixture of bitterness and sweetness, but it is the result of a person's efforts and fighting to achieve his dreams. Death is not an important thing and all people die in their daily life. In this inner struggle, he goes somewhere in the middle of nowhere in order to win this fight. In the final scenes in the hospital, where Frankie disconnects the air tube from Maggie, the bright shadows of Frankie and Maggie's faces remain and will remain in the mind. In the end, it should be said that Hilary Swank's stunning performance was reminiscent of "Boys Don't Cry" and she should be praised. Morgan Freeman is amazing and deservedly deserved an Oscar for this movie.

Journey to other beliefs
3 May 2023
The film deals exactly with the point of departure of "Ernesto Che Guevara". This biography / road movie can be called a quasi-documentary. The journey of two friends and two lives with common dreams in Latin America and the film shows a real picture of these lands.

The film becomes very deep and powerful in the second half and tends more towards the documentary structure. In one of the dialogues at the beginning of the movie, Ernesto's friend says that if there is no motorcycle, we should go on foot. Ernesto says better because then we see better and more people. Right from the middle of the movie, when the motorcycle is no longer useful due to its problems and being scrap, and they continue on foot, it becomes a journey to the depth of belief and changes both friends. The film follows life during the journey. And in the hands and curved lines of people's faces, there is a longing for life. The credits at the end of the movie are wonderful.

The Round Up (2010)
From a new perspective
1 May 2023
The film's emphasis at the very beginning on the reality of all the events of the film is both its strength and its weakness. The film is based on the memories of a man who escapes from the camp as a child and survives. The subject of the film is not a new subject, but the film's look at this historical fact is the strength of the film. The film deals with children at that time. And in this sense, it is original. But the weak point of the film is that the director treats this issue emotionally and the film cannot meet the expectations due to its cinematic structure. In fact, the emotionalism of the film limits the cinematic structure, and this has made the melodrama format the best option for the film.

Gandhi (1982)
A film with 8 Oscars
27 April 2023
The film "Gandhi" is a biographical film, it can be placed in the category of epic drama films. These films, which are huge film projects that are made with large budgets and many large locations, are made over a long period of time. Basically, they are usually historical events or myths, and they use a lot of great actors. The special effects and stage designs are huge, and usually throughout the history of cinema, these films win awards in the fields of stage design, set design, special effects, cinematography, etc. Examples of other films in this genre include "Ben-Hur". And" Lawrence of Arabia"pointed out. Gandhi's film also won 8 Oscar.

The biography genre is one of Richard Attenborough's favorite genres, and in this genre, he made films such as Young Winston (1972), Gandhi (1982), Chaplin (1992) and Shadowland (1993). "Gandhi" is a film made with the mentioned features and it deals with the story of Gandhi's life and his role in leading India to independence. The performance of "Ben Kingsley", one of the most powerful actors in the history of cinema, is undoubtedly the most prominent feature of the film. He works miracles in this film and leaves a bright spot in the history of cinema. In addition, attention should also be paid to the remarkable and eye-catching cinematography of the film. Amazing and attractive techniques can be seen in film editing.

The Cuckoo (2002)
Empathy
24 April 2023
The film "Coco" from the Russian cinema, made in 2002, is a charming anti-war comedy. The film, with all its ups and downs, takes the audience with it until the end. It is a film with few dialogues and few actors. A different love triangle is formed in the film where both men leave this female triangle alone. The film has three main characters, a Sami woman, a Finnish soldier, and a Russian commander, whose story is related to the end of World War II. All three characters do not understand each other's language, and their communication forms the essence of the film, and the film evokes this poem that empathy is better than speaking the same language.

Under the shadow of two legends
23 April 2023
This film is interesting in the thriller genre and wants to become an anti-war film from two opposing perspectives in the war. These two angles are from the point of view of one old Serbian soldier and the other a US Army colonel in the Bosnian war. . The film has superficial dialogues and war slogans. And it remains at this level and does not go beyond.. But the film is neither an anti-war work nor a war, and only on the level of the attractiveness of the acting of two legends and stars of the world, namely Robert De Niro and John Travolta, the film remains under the shadow of these two actors and the scene It contains interesting action throughout the film.

A Smooth narrative

A Smooth narrative

The subject of the film and Henry VIII's marriage has been the subject of many films and series. This movie is smooth in telling the story and it does it well.

Natalie Portman's performance in the role of "Anne" is remarkable. The film is a narrative of human inner being, how aggression and power-seeking can affect them. In other words, it shows the destruction of man and humanity at the center of power seeking. In general, the movie is acceptable and it is enjoyable to watch and you can easily follow the whole movie without getting tired. This film, made in 2008, is the director's second feature film after 17 years.

It looks like a simple but very complicated drama
19 April 2023
The first feature film of " Nuri Bilge Ceylan" is a personal film and the use of family factors, which we also see in his subsequent films. In this way, it can be said that the film is a family drama that the director made in his hometown. This drama, which has an attractive beginning, is seen from a child's point of view, and this point of view takes a path from the world of childhood to adulthood. The film is black and white and a light shine from the heart of a gray and black world and talks about hope for life and faith. The film is eternal and from this deep timelessness with a dreamy and imaginative atmosphere it reaches the complexity of human life and makes the audience infer emotions. Although in the middle of the film, it turns into dialogue-oriented sequences and becomes heavy, but the atmosphere created in the film is so impressive and appreciable that you will easily forget this temporary stretch.

Juno (2007)
A great script and a sweet movie

Juno, A great script and a sweet movie

Comedy is always dependent on culture and geography. "Judo" is not an exception to this rule and the subject of the film, the child of reading, is a current and delicate subject.

The strong point of the movie can be considered its good script. "Diablo Cody was first persuaded by the film's producer, Mason Novick, who had already signed him for his memoir, to write a screenplay beforehand, which became Juno".

He was able to get the Oscar for the best non-adapted screenplay for this film. The film met with good success and received good reviews from critics.

A different but long drama
15 April 2023
The movie is from 1974 and today, few viewers have the patience to watch a movie for 194 minutes, that's why mini-series and series have gained a lot of fans. The film is remarkable in terms of narrative and original art. The cinematic references in the movie are interesting and the acting of the actors (Celine and Julie) is good. The film is about friendship and how two people become friends in a modern city of Paris. In addition to this friendship, the film pays attention to the concept of modernity, and therefore this friendship in its depth becomes the change of identity of two friends in modern daily life.

Nobody Knows (2004)
In praise of childhood
10 April 2023
An admirable film with very beautiful plans and a perceptive director who has been able to create realism with a film. The film is very effective with few dialogues but with strong images and little and wise music.

The film is in praise of childhood and the story of four children who become victims in an irresponsible and passive world. Although the story of the film is sad, the strength of the film is that it is full of effort, sacrifice and hope. At the end of the film, the image shows the four children happily going home after shopping, and the image is fixed. Although the director wants to make us think of children and childhood, I personally like the movement of children in the depth of the picture towards the future. The movie should be seen and enjoyed.

Another Year (2010)
A warm and believable movie
28 March 2023
The large number of characters from the beginning in the film and dialogue-oriented actions may make us repeat to ourselves how the time of 129 minutes of the film passes? But as the film progresses, we encounter a wonderful film and the director of the film "Mike Lee" once again shows off his skills. We are witnessing a live and believable movie. This movie depicts the daily life of a family and their close people in four seasons. The script is detailed and detailed, maybe not flawless, but it is well written and has strong characterization that shows how experienced and masterful "Mike Leigh" is. The four seasons of the movie are an allegory of the four periods of human life. At the beginning of the movie Doctor and the Depressed Patient, it is the beginning of the spring of life. All four parts of the film (spring, summer, autumn and winter) are attractive and warm and lively, but the winter part is something else. This is great and the best of them all. "Lesley Manville" is so good that even "Mike Leigh" can't ignore it and ends the movie with her. The film ends with the situation unknown and to be unknown Mary, although the film revolves around the "Hepple" couple. But the character of Mary, played by Leslie Manville, overshadows the film. This movie is nominated for an Oscar for its screenplay, and Leslie Manville's performance also attracted the attention of the world.

Carlito's Way (1993)
Irrevocable privacy
25 March 2023
Watching a movie for 144 minutes and not feeling tired at the end and enjoying watching the movie is definitely a sign of a great filmmaker. Brian De Palma is great as Carlito. The scenes are arranged with care and elegance. The mise-en-scène, filming and editing are excellent. The film editing model is an educational class for those interested in cinema. The sequence of the train station and escalators is reminiscent of the movie "untouchables". De Palma and Al Pacino working together again is spectacular. "Sean Penn" has a unique game and is a candidate for this role. Overall, watching the movie is admirable and enjoyable.

An attractive film from Romanian cinema directed by "Florin Serban" which will definitely always be remembered. This movie is in the "prison drama" sub-genre, where many movies have been made in this sub-genre, and this movie is undoubtedly one of the best of them. I am eager to see all the other films of this director. One of the good things about the movie is the lack of soundtrack, which definitely reduces the heat and intensity of the movie scenes. Great acting and the use of convicts in their role is very interesting. A drama that seems to arrange everything in peace, but suddenly all the peace turns into a strange violence.

This movie is the weakest work I have seen from "Atom Egoyan". The film is confused in its narrative, although the topic of the film is so labyrinthine that it can stand until the end.

Overall, it is a suitable film for entertainment. The characterization is not good and it seems to be one of those adaptation films where the original source is much better and more attractive than the film. For his fans, this film is influenced by the director of Armenian descent, and his shadow has fallen on the film. The film ended up receiving mediocre reviews.and was present at the Cannes Film Festival in 2005.

Millennium trilogy and a crime thriller
13 March 2023
Millennium trilogy and a crime thriller The third film of the Millennium trilogy is a crime thriller that was generally well received and received moderate reviews and has its own charms.

The beginning of the movie is exactly from the end of the movie "The Girl Who Plays with Fire" and this idea is attractive and pleasant.

When we consider the total of three films together in a trilogy, we can consider it an attractive, different and successful trilogy of Swedish cinema.

The good pace of the film in many sequences made the long time and the drawn-out story of the film bearable. Remaking these films in American cinema is a sign of their success.

Musta jää (2007)
Human relationships in the modern world
7 March 2023
"Black Ice" is a movie that deserves the name. A complex and multi-layered drama that investigates modern society and human relations in this society. Choosing a suitable metaphorical title and creating a good atmosphere of the movie is one of the key features of the movie. The weakness of the film, which reduces the impact and visual value of the film, is the inappropriate role of the soundtrack. The music of the film is added in most of the sequences and plays the role of negative filler. The characters are well-characterized and have a suitable job for the drama situation. I loved the movie and the only regret I have is the soundtrack.

A superficial film with a different theme
7 March 2023
The film has a different, thought-provoking and bold theme and this is a promising point. But choosing the subject of all cinema. This film has a problem with the narrative and this is a neural and superficial film. It is acceptable to show it at the Sundance Festival, but it is a question for me to be nominated for the jury and I would like to know the reason. This movie is based on the true story of Sharon Lopatka , who was killed in 1996. Belo has worked hard in the role of Nancy. In fact, the character of Nancy is based on the character of Sharon Lopatka which happened 12 years after that.

Morning Glory (2010)
Telling with cinema from TV
6 March 2023
Like the occasionally dark Broadcast News and the considerably bleaker Network, Morning Glory takes a peek behind the curtain of television newscasts and reveals that all is not as clean and ordered as it appears over-the-air. The film is at its best when it is at its most goofy, at times coming close to the laugh-aloud outrageousness of Will Ferrell's Anchorman. The central character, a cartoonishly cheerful, career-minded woman by the name of Becky Fuller (Rachel McAdams) is endearing enough to make viewers forgive the half-hearted, clichéd ventures into her sit-com inspired life. Morning Glory succeeds when it captures the antics, rivalries, and petty acts of rebellion unseen by the cameras.

Becky is on a fast track to the top as a producer for a New Jersey morning TV show. Called into her boss' office with the expectation of a promotion, she instead learns she's being fired. His calling her "the best producer I've had to fire" is scant comfort. She sends out resumes everywhere without a bite until Jerry Barnes (Jeff Goldblum), an executive for a fictitious "fourth network" (not ABC, NBC, or CBS), comes calling. His morning show, Daybreak, is on life support and he's looking for an unconventional executive producer to shake things up. Despite her youth and inexperience - or perhaps because of it - Becky is his choice. She gets off to an unpromising start, failing to hit it off with Daybreak's popular female anchor, Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton), and generating a palpable sense of animosity when she pegs out-to-pasture serious newsman Mike Pomeroy (Harrison Ford) to provide the testosterone balance to Colleen's estrogen. Ratings take a nosedive and Becky learns she has six weeks to perform a miracle or face cancellation. So she pulls out the stops and that's when Morning Glory starts to become fun.

Becky isn't hard to like, but that's almost entirely as a result of the effervescence evident in Rachel McAdams' performance, not because the character's back story, which is a minefield of familiar sit-com situations, has any resonance. In fact, Morning Glory is at its worst when it follows Becky away from the studio. Her romance with evening news producer Adam Bennett (Patrick Wilson) is dull and lifeless. Poor Patrick Wilson serves no higher purpose than providing a good-looking love interest; the term "underused" doesn't do justice for this sort of role. Jeff Goldblum makes a lot more out of an even less meaty appearance. Then again, Goldblum can arrest attention by merely standing around in the background. Meanwhile, Harrison Ford recycles his performance from the Sabrina remake, right down to the predictable arc in which the icy sheath encasing his heart melts. Ford, it must be admitted, does pomposity exceedingly well. Diane Keaton is so good at her part that one can see her sliding effortlessly into an anchor's chair on a real morning show. (That would be a clever way to promote the movie.)

Nevertheless, despite the conventional manner in which the story is resolved, Morning Glory generates enough entertainment, good will, and genuine laughs to make it hard to dislike. Becky's enthusiasm is at times infectious and it's fun to watch the things she does to give some life to her dying show. Would that any actual morning program would be this spontaneous and lively... Despite maintaining its jovial tone, Morning Glory makes a serious point, although it does so with a lightness of touch that makes one wonder whether it's present as an afterthought. Like the aforementioned Network, this production wonders aloud about where television news is going and whether there's any place for hard news in a medium where reality shows and live-action tabloids rule. Ultimately, Morning Glory sidesteps the issue, perhaps recognizing that an honest answer to the question might kill any meager box office potential the movie has. Better not to dis a key demographic.

Finding a release date for Morning Glory created problems for Paramount. It's not the kind of high-minded production that appeals to Oscar nominators, nor does it have the sound and fury necessary to capture a teen crowd trolling for action. And, although it contains a lukewarm romance, the fitful chemistry between McAdams and Patrick Wilson doesn't tip this into romantic comedy territory. Morning Glory fits into a shrinking category: the old-fashioned, not-too-raunchy, character-based comedy. It's gentle, unforced and, despite its flaws, likeable. It doesn't blaze new trails or astound with its wit but, more likely than not, you'll leave the theater with a smile, and that's certainly worth a recommendation.

The Tourist (I) (2010)
But I fell in love with you
5 March 2023
The name "Florian Henkel von Donnersmarck", the German director, raises the expectation to see the film. "The lives of others" is an important and eternal work of his. At first glance, the movie "Tourist" seems like a box-office friendly and entertaining movie, and the presence of big stars like "Angelina Jolie" and "Johnny Depp" can be considered to attract the audience. At the beginning of the film, this mentality is disrupted by "Donnersmarck" and we come across an attractive film in the crime/mystery genre, a film that has the tone and style of Donnersmark. But alas, after the first 20 minutes, the quality of the movie decreases as we move forward, and in the end, we end up watching the movie with a superficial and clichéd movie. The film turns to comedy after twenty minutes and actually wanders between these two genres. Anyway, sometimes directors have to make every movie as it is, but "Donnersmarck" and "The Lives of Others" are always immortal for me.

Veda (I) (2010)
Incoherent
4 March 2023
Incoherent The film "Veda"directed by Zülfü Livaneli, made in 2010 is a film based on the memoirs of "Salih bozok". A weak drama whose biggest problem is indecisiveness in dealing with the subject. The film is not coherent in this sense. And this has caused even the editing of the film to be undecided. Although the film has been successful in sales, it is structurally weak. In general, the film remains a linear narrative from a diary in praise of Atatürk. From Turkish cinema, much stronger and prominent films have been released at the world level. Movies that will always remain in the history of world cinema.

Vive L'Amour (1994)
Modern alienation
2 March 2023
Modern alienation Please pay attention to the movie making time first. Making this movie in 1994 and in Taiwan is a great cinematic event. The film is a masterpiece in this respect. I refer to my memory a little and remember the important films of 1994 as much as possible. Kieslowski's "Red", " The Shawshank Redemption", "Forrest Gump", "Death and the Maiden", "pulp fiction", "Leon", and "Ed wood", but in my opinion, this movie is better than all these movies. This film has a deep and detailed look at today's human world. At a time when the 20th century is coming to an end, the film shows the perspective of the 21st century. Human loneliness in the modern world is not even a shoulder to cry on, how bitter and how effective it was. "Tsai Ming Liang" shows how respectable he is in his second production. His film has everything, from calculated direction to good performances, all three actors are wonderful in their roles. The long shots are very practical, appropriate and correct, and the power of the film and its effect lies in the fact that it advances its narrative with minimal dialogue. Movies with little dialogue have always been attractive and lovely to me.
