Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: A Quality of Mercy (2022)
the perfect 'Balance of Terrific and Terror'
I think that may be the best episode of Trek i have seen in 20+ years
Canon fits perfectly, i cannot see any reason for complaint - a
Yesterdays Enterprise style WHAT IF story - beautiful -
The actor for Kirk impressed me - i know a few people have had doubts and i get it - its an iconic role, and needs to be handled respectfully - but i think the actor captured Kirk/Shatner from the original series - and is a LEAGUE above Pine in JJ Trek
This for me is the season high - almost makes me wanna calibrate my grading so it doesnt push any of the other episodes down
IF I MUST COMPLAIN ABOUT ONE THING - the cliffhanger - unnecessary - not a canon issue, or a problem with the inevitable story of Number Ones legal issues, But no need for it in this episode, which for me is perfect without it- IMHO.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds: Memento Mori (2022)
The Pike Maneuver
EPIC AGAIN - Fantastic episode - Season High of a Season that is 4/4 on Good Episodes
I actually think that MAY be the BEST EPISODE of modern Trek - including only Disco, Picard, and SNW - That episode was better than any IMHO - great standard being upheld here
La'an is a fantastic character - real, proper Starfleet - no nonsense - imperfect for sure - but the kind of officer that Kirk, or Sisko, or Picard would have relished having in combat - So far, she is the breakout character for me - superb
The writing and the dialogue - fantastic - no serious complaints at all here - impressed as hell
Spock and La'an in the shuttle - great scene, and the mind meld was great, except for ONE THING :(
PLEASE DONT BRING BURNHAM INTO STRANGE NEW WORLDS _ PLEASE - Sod off AND LEAVE DISCO where it is - seriously -
The Pike Maneuver - love it! Solid!
The Gorn will be back - bring it - From what La'an has told us, definitely wanna see these lads get a good smack or two
I like Ortegas myself, i have seen some complaints - yes - but i just like her!
If i had to pick one character that i dislike - Chapel - and merely because she IS CHAPEL - she doesnt seem like her TOS character - if they had just left well enough alone and had her as an original character - id be happier.
War of the Worlds (2019)
Excellent show - only one complaint - Cant wait for more
This is an excellent show - i am only beginning to understand what is actually going on with the Aliens, and its kept me watching for sure. Great performances from all involved
Just one criticism. The writers of this done both themselves, and fans of HG Wells a disservice - this is far too original to be called War of the Worlds - im a fan of Wells, dont get me wrong. But aside from one or two moments this feels like a different story altogether.
Maybe call the second series something different
Stop at Nothing: The Lance Armstrong Story (2014)
Unbelievable
We used to think Lance was incredible - now we know he is Non-credible
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
Defended Thrones for season 7 right up to 8.5 - but now...
Horrendous finale which made no sense - pitiful story, dreadful script, this episode nosedived the whole franchise - please dont let D&D near the Prequels, OR SW for that matter
Star Trek Continues: To Boldly Go: Part I (2017)
Absolutely Stunning, exciting, and guaranteed to make us hungry for more
As a fan of Star Trek, and all of its evolution's, I usually greet Fan Productions with optimism. A 'lot of love' has usually gone into their production, and they are always entertaining.
Star Trek Continues is different. The feeling changes after one watches for a few minutes; Effectively, a viewer forgets that they are watching a Fan Production. This IS Star Trek. And as one continues to watch, one becomes hungry for more. The classic reaction of the eternal fan. 'When is the Next One on? With Star Trek Continues, you are very quickly immersed in the story, as you would with any other chapter of Trek. This Penultimate episode of Continues sets an amazing level, but with it comes a feeling of Sadness.
As a Fan i congratulate all involved in this production. My Reason for sadness is selfishly obvious; I WANT MORE! To any Trekkie hasn't watched Continues, You are in for a treat! 10/10.. and to the staff and crew of the show; Peace and long life
