Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)
Yawn
Chadwick Boseman was sorely missed! To be honest, I wish I enjoyed it, but I did not. Not. One. Bit.
The quality of Marvel films has been nosediving since 2019 & I did not have much expectation.
The movie drags on & sadly had me in the doldrums.
Disney - not Marvel - are ruining the MCU! They tried to cover too much ground by introducing too many characters & a complicated story.
To sum up, save yourself time & money ... don't watch it. I thought the new Thor movie was the worst Marvel could produce via Disney, however I was dead wrong!
PS: The moving tribute to Paul Walker in the Fast & Furious film did a better job more than this film does to Chadwick Boseman.
Red Notice (2021)
Ooooozing Chemistry
If you are a fan of action, comedy, drama, the thrill of the chase & Gal Gadot ... YOU GET WHAT YOU CAME FOR!
The chemistry between Dwayne, Ryan & Gal oozed. Their acting was phenomenal & they nailed their performances to the T.
A lot of twists & funny moments courtesy of Dwayne. Plus, Ryan delivers his comedic lines punctually.
In addition, Gal Gadot - being the charmful delight as well as the elegant Goddess that she is - delivers a lot of intense fight scenes as well as cute moments.
It is definitely worth a watch since this film is family-friendly & extremely entertaining.
The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
Fun! Fun! Fun!
Let me start off by admitting that I did not know what I was missing out until I watched this movie courtesy of Netflix. To be honest, I am guilty. Guilty of the sin of Hubris. I have never seen the original TV series but I love this film version. Lock, stock & one hundred barrels. With respect to the generation that grew up watching the show, this film is not a bastardisation. In my opinion, this film is a standalone & a cult.
Full of life, laughter & car chases because the chemistry between Sean William Scott & Johnny Knoxville as Cousin Bo & Cousin Luke create a boisterous duo.
Jessica Simpson as Cousin Daisy might not be on the same level as Catherine Bach (original Daisy) but she nailed the role as her own with her suave & finesse.
To summarise, this movie is a blast. I had a great time watching it. It might not be a masterpiece, but this film has that special variable as it was adventurous & it made me laugh.
Grab a couple of bottles, order a steaming bucket of chicken or whatever, sit back & enjoy the film!
Captain Marvel (2019)
Brie Larson Is Captain Marvel! - Like It Or Lump It!
This film DOES NOT deserve the hate it gets! I do not know what narcotics people are on when typing their negative reviews. In this day & age, there are too many keyboard warriors who have nothing else to do but bring people down from behind their computer screens. Also, STOP THE HATE towards Brie Larson!
Brie Larson is an absolute gem. No doubt. As well as being a credit to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she was absolutely flawless as Captain Marvel. In addition, her chemistry with Samuel L. Jackson was beyond reproach. Brie Larson as Captain Marvel ROXXX!
The directors - Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck - take on the first female superhero within the MCU was stupendous & the story was sublime as well as heart-warming. From the bottom of my heart, I am eternally grateful to have watched it.
There are plenty of references to the 90s, the cinematography is absolutely mind-boggling plus the humour is hilarious as well as refreshing.
In my honest opinion, no one else could have done justice to the role of Carol Danvers. Do not LISTEN to negative noise from the critics & the keyboard warriors! Brie Larson is a quintessential bad ass in this film & she is an inspiration to a lot of people! Definitely worth watching!
Wonder Woman (2017)
Perfection 💙
This is the eighteenth time watching this stupendous movie. Wonder Woman has been my favourite character since I was seven years old. Thank you Patty Jenkins & THANK YOU Gal Gadot for this masterpiece! 💙
The film begins inside the walls of the Louvre Museum in Paris. The story begins with Diana, Princess of Themyscira looking at a picture from her past & we are taken on a journey on how she became Wonder Woman by participating in World War I alongside Steve Trevor & his gang plus defeating Ares, the God of War.
Wonder Woman is simply amazing. The film does not hold back because Gal Gadot - bless her - gives you all the glory of the iconic Amazonian Warrior Princess. Gal Gadot was well known from the Fast & Furious series, but her quintessential performance in this film has cemented herself as an icon! As Princess Diana of Themyscira, Gal truly does kick ass in this film. She truly is a superwoman in reality as she did her own stunts despite being five months pregnant!
This film is a masterpiece courtesy of the hard work put into the cinematography to the brilliant choreography & the production plus art design as well as the meticulous details into the costumes. It's one of the many reasons why I keep on watching this film because it truly feels like you are in their world.
The message of love is strong in this film & I believe in love just like Wonder Woman.
PS: I managed to muster the courage to go to the State of Israel & experience the beauty the nation has to offer. And I have to thank Gal Gadot for it 💙
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
Adventure. Conspiracy. Thriller. WONDERFUL!
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is simply BRILLIANT & exceptional in every way as it delivers the best, grittiest action I have seen so far in the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Marvel sure know how to deliver their films & please their audiences!
I have been waiting for this film since July 2011 & I am happy to say that my money was well spent! From the beginning till the end, the action scenes & the stunts made this film stand out from the previous films of MCU as they relied on CGI, but this film is a winner!
To be honest, I recommend this movie! At 136 minutes there isn't a single moment where you feel bored. As for the ending of the movie ... it makes you want more.
PS: Batman V Superman? Lol DC sure have their work cut out!!!!! They have got a lot of work to do if they are to replicate the success of Marvel!!!!
BRING IT!
We're the Millers (2013)
100% Hilarious
I never miss a film which involves the magnificent & beautiful Jennifer Aniston! I have seen all her films from Leprechaun (1993) to the present & I sure was never going to miss this belter of a film!
We have Jason Sudeikis - as the drug dealer - who is the leader of the "family".
Jennifer Aniston as a level headed stripper. - As the years go on, her beauty is undeniably flawless!
We have Emma Roberts as an angry teen. - I really liked her performance in the film as she really bounced off the characters of Jennifer Aniston & Jason Sudeikis.
Will Poulter as the awkward teenager. - His character is one lucky guy! Hint: Scene with Emma & Jennifer!
Jennifer Aniston & Jason Sudeikis ooze great chemistry. Emma & Will are fantastic!
Overall, this film was extremely funny & definitely not boring.
