Eragon (2006)
Not with the book at all
Eragon was pretty much terrible. I loved the book, but I'd say 75% of the book was cut out for the movie. I expected them to cut it out, but cutting out that much? And of the scenes that they did include, almost all of them were nothing like the book. They spent way to much of the movie in Carvahall, then raced through the rest of the story, all leading up to the climax, which literally lasted about 30 seconds. The scenery was also bad, with a lot of the key elements described in the book not there. I really wish someone had done a better job, because it gives a bad name to Eragon, which was a great book. All in all, if you have not seen this movie yet, you should not see it, as it is nothing like the book.
The Da Vinci Code (2006)
Very, very toned down
This movie has gotten tons of press and has gotten religious leaders to denounce it over and over again. But the fact is, this is a whole lot more toned down than the book. In the movie, it portrays Robert Langdon as being a religious person. The book didn't even come close to that. He was definitely an atheist in the book. So there are two reasons why I think that these religious people shouldn't be going so crazy about the movie. First of all, it is obvious that this is a work of fiction. How many times does that have to be reiterated? Second of all, this movie doesn't really have any huge religious implications. The religious parts of the movie are just minor things, and not central to the plot line. In fact, when Teabing is explaining how Mary Magdalene and Jesus were married,Langdon even says, "It's a theory, Leigh, just a theory." I can't imagine Dan Brown's Robert Langdon saying that. The movie's Robert Langdon is really just a creation of the director.
Stitch! The Movie (2003)
Yet another bad sequel
Sequels are always bad, so I guess I just shouldn't have even bothered watching this one. It's VERY boring and everything that happens in this movie is just a lame thing to try to get the audience to have fun.
Nice try, movie makers, but please don't make a sequel as bad as this one again.
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)
Great film, would recommend it to anyone.
I thought Pirates of the Caribbean was a great film.It was very well put together and had a great plot. It had great scenery and props. The actors were perfect for there parts. They had just the right accents and the right looks. I would DEFINITELY recommend this film to anyone.
