Another great finale!
27 October 2021
I can't believe how proud and happy I am for a fictional character lol. Gata is an amazing character and great actor. He is so real, in fact they all are, it's like watching a documentary. I truly believe in the main characters. I rewatched that last scene so many times, like I did with the first finale, truly incredible. They really know what they're doing, I can't wait til the next season!

Dragged out unnecessarily
15 February 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Would have been a better doc if it covered all the murders or mystery deaths at Cecil hotel and not just focused on Elisa Lam who unfortunately died due to her bipolar state. The case was dragged out and made to seem more suspicious than it was.

The funniest episode of any show!
30 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I laughed from start to finish. The rap in the beginning was so hilarious. The breakfast club interview was so authentic it didn't seem scripted at all. And the "freestyle" at the end was quality! I'm looking forward to the next season. I hope there's more episodes or longer ones!

Better than expected!
26 April 2020
I didn't expect to enjoy this, I've never watched anything from 'Lil Dicky' other than his video with Chris Brown so I didn't realise he was a real comedian. Anyway, what a hilarious show. Great first season of a show, I love all the characters, especially Gata and Mike. Just naturally funny, good timing, not clichéd humour or interactions. I sincerely hope there are many more seasons to come. Ideally with more episodes or longer episodes! Definitely my favourite new show this year.

A real surprise
22 April 2020
I wasn't sure I'd enjoy this as much as I did but after just watching one episode I was hooked and ended up binging the entire series in a day! Really interesting take on Norse mythology and slow paced but enough to keep you captured. I'm looking forward to the next season!

Fairly decent comedy
19 April 2020
Typical bad cop/drug comedy. But I don't see what the problem is with it. The kid Kareem is funny. I don't know why people are upset with the foul language, you've obviously not been around teenagers in a non parental setting lol. Or perhaps you've forgotten what being a teen is like yourself. Anyway, the kid is naturally funny and good delivery with the jokes. Ed Helm I always like, typical character though. But yeah this was humourous, nice background film. Nothing groundbreaking but not everything has to be.

We need a series!
17 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This should have been a series. There is far too much to cover when it comes to the Clark Sisters. From Matties relationship with her husband and her diabetes, Twinkies emotional breakdown, Dorindas suicidal ideation, Denise leaving and her 7 kids, Karen's stay in a coma for WEEKS & so much more. Everything was skipped. It's like they pressed fast forward. They deserved better than this. Their stories together and individually are so important to tell especially for the black Christian community. However I did enjoy it, especially the wonderful vocals by the actresses. But the Clark Sisters deserved so much more.

Heartwarming and inspiring
15 March 2020
This movie touched me more than I expected it to. I share a lot of similarities to old Brittany so perhaps that's why I felt so emotional at the end watching her triumph, I never thought I'd cry watching someone else run. It touched on various different points such as being overweight, feeling unloved, this era of social media and watching everyone supposedly living a better life than you and feeling as though you are just failing at life. It really covered a lot of things, some of it in funny ways and some not so much. Great film overall. It made me even want to go for a run! (But it's 4am and I'm a woman so no can do. Hopefully the inspiration sticks til the morning). Also Jern is such a beautiful looking man, great character also.

Great movie!

Really enjoyed watching this movie. Will Smith & Tom Holland were hilarious together. In all honesty I preferred it to Incredibles 2. It's one of the better kids films to come out. I'd definitely watch it again.

What trash
6 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I have no idea how this rating is so high. I assume it's only because of the star studded cast but what a ridiculous storyline. Murder Mystery is the exact same concept and it's a much better watch. A housekeeper who vomits every time she lies gets the inheritance of the man she's working for. There's such forced dialogue about politics that have nothing to do with the storyline, the "Nazi troll" bit was just unnecessary, and I say that as liberal black woman. It was just Incredibly disingenuous and patronising even. The whole storyline and reveal was just underwhelming and the obvious twist was basic. How incredibly disappointing and such a waste of my time, I feel for anyone who paid to watch this. Do not make another one.

Disappointing Spin off.
14 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I'm a massive Vampire diaries & Originals fan, those 2 shows are easily top 10 TV shows I've ever watched. I definitely had high hopes for legacies but I've been left so disappointed. I love MG, Kaleb & Lizzie but everyone else has no personality, they're all boring and slow paced. Alaric has even become a dry character in comparison to how he was in VD. Josie & Raf are just expressionless and my goodness is Landon an unbearable character, both seasons so far have centred on him and I have no idea why, he's such a bore. The series has become very teenaged, which is obvious cos it's set in a school but not even VD was this soppy. It feels like the writers have run out of things to do within Mystic falls, they shouldn't have done this spin off to be honest. All I wait for are the little cameos from characters in the other 2 shows (just Kai & Freya have appeared so far and they killed Kai. Again *rolls eyes*), I just have zero interest in anything else that goes on. It's really unfortunate. I've given it 5 stars just out of respect to VD & The Originals lol

So many questions...
1 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This show had a great concept in all fairness, it was just poorly executed. The writing was terrible, so many clichés and overused lines I've heard in so many other shows like this. They forced too many current social narratives in and it just didn't feel genuine (and I say this as a leftist black woman). However I like these kind of fantasy shows and got sucked into it. I was incredibly disappointed in the finale and was left with too many unanswered questions. Like, what happened to Fred? Did he actually die? How did everyone from presidion just disappear off the lot? What happened to the warlocks that inhabited the bodies? How comes and when did Maggie become head of the council? The last we saw of her was talking to her husband. What happened to the other woman who was working with Edith? Where did she go? How comes none of the other factions came to help them even though it was implied that there were other people working alongside them. I'm just so confused. One minute they were locked up inside the house the next it was completely fine and Viv is making her bed. I'm just so confused. Also how comes the twins just easily accepted that they were essentially stolen and we're adopted and started calling their birth mother "mother" after a day of knowing her? How comes there were no tears when Fred died? If he really died? Make it make sense please. It's like they just crammed everything into season 1 in fear that there was not going to be a follow up season (which may well be true with that garbage ending). Overall just a poorly executed TV show that actually had the potential to be quite good. Also some of the acting was absolutely terrible and everyone made such quick bonds with strangers it was completely unrealistic. If there is a 2nd season, they need to fill in A LOT of gaps and explain that final episode as well just slowing down the storytelling just a little bit. P.s on the criticisms about white privilege being "overused" I don't think you understand why white privilege means lol. It's everywhere, everyday. But admittedly, it added nothing to the plot whatsoever except when Omari mentioned it.

Underrated!
28 January 2020
This film is Ìncredible. I can't count the amount of times I've watched it. It is most certainly the funniest "kids" film I've ever watched. I'm not sure why it has such a low review, it should be up there with Zootopia or Inside.

Wtf am I watching? But I can't stop
21 January 2020
I'm currently watching this film and honestly, it's so bizarre. These are all incredible actors but in this film... I just don't know what is happening. However, I cannot stop watching it. I just need to understand what the hell is going on and what the aim is. The dialogue between characters are all over the place, not sure if it's supposed to be humourous or not either way I'm not laughing but then again... I am because it's such a ridiculous film lol. Even this review sounds so scrambled because of what this film is doing lol.

Very entertaining
15 December 2019
There seems to be an expectation for films to be groundbreaking, fresh with life changing storytelling these days. It's really not necessary for all films. This was great fun to watch. I found it hilarious, Ryan does what Ryan does which I enjoy. Yes there was a lot going on but it's not a confusing film at all, it's very simple and easy to understand with great action scenes. Definitely something I'd watch again and I'd even like a second one. Negative reviewers need to just relax and stop taking everything so seriously.

Unnecessary. Essentially a bonus episode for the final season
16 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It just wasn't needed. I gave it a 6 purely out if my respect for Breaking Bad. It was great seeing the characters interact with each other again but the storyline was meh. I liked Jesse in BB but not that much to watch him try and find some money to get a new identity. I honestly thought there'd be more to it. Unfortunate.

Stupid funny
30 August 2019
I didn't think I'd enjoy this so much. I'm a big fan of Danny McBride anyway but it was definitely Walton's character that won me over. What a twisted effed up character but ridiculously hilarious lol. I wish there was at least another season of this as I miss this show so much. I hope Goggins does more comedies in the future because he's a natural.

Overhyped predictable film
30 March 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What an absolute disappointment. I saw so many people saying how good that film was and so I expected something of quality like Get Out. Boring! I knew that Lupitas character had been swapped from the very beginning because it was an incredibly obvious twist, if you watched horror movies or thrillers often I'm sure you could predict that. I loved that it featured a black family as the main characters but I just wish the plot was better. I didn't get the whole holding hands thing or the rabbits. What exactly were they trying to symbolise? I think film makers are trying to mirror and implicitly symbolise society in such obscure ways that they essentially lose the point. I absolutely enjoyed the music and Winston Dukes character but that was about it. Such a fuss made over nothing.

Tell Me a Story (2018–2020)

Unexpected Thrill
10 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I'LL TRY NOT TO SPOIL TOO MUCH!

I only started watching this because it featured so many actors from some of my favourite shows (Paul, Danielle, Kim etc) and with so many of my favourite shows finished I was looking for something new.

I initially thought it was a fantasy show like Once Upon A Time but I definitely got that wrong. It started off quite slow, introducing us to some characters and their relationships. Whilst watching the 1st episode I was waiting for some kind of magic or witch to show up, I was confused as to how normal it started. Then by the end of the 1st episode I realised this was not that kind of series. Slightly disappointed as that's my favourite genre of TV lol but that's on me. However I wanted to know what would happen after the accidental murders, burglary and the teacher/student relationship.

Well damn .. I did not see this coming. The way the characters were woven together and connected was not how I expected. Of course it's typical to have unknown connections with a plot but it's everyone. Every story is connected in some twisted way. I can usually predict a storyline (which is why I prefer fantasy shows) so I was pleasantly surprised to not have predicted a lot of this show. The twists and turns and shocking revelations really took me by surprise. I watched the entire series in a day, I just couldn't stop watching. My mouth was open throughout different points in the show for several reasons (Josh, the detective reveal, the mob Boss etc). I was a little disappointed in the season finale only because the other episodes were so great but it was still a good ending. The writers done a amazing job and probably the best 1st series of a show I've watched in a very long time.

I don't even want to spoil it for anyone, It was truly a thrilling, dark twisted journey you have to go on! What an exciting show, can't wait til season 2!

Sweet Movie, ignore the bad reviews
10 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
You can tell some of the reviews were written by those who hate current popular culture, the internet, corporations etc etc yearning for the nostalgic aspect *yawn*. This was a lovely movie. I loved the personification of the internet, it was funny seeing the sites and services we use as characters. I mostly loved the message about friendship and boundaries. I saw one comment saying that it was a dangerous way to look at friendship but I must disagree. It showed how you must love, respect and value the people around you but not smother or try to control them, which frankly, is a lesson for both kids and adults. It was also great to see Vanellope get In touch with her true self and chase her dreams, even if it isn't popular, which is a great message for all. Lovely sweet film. Not sure what else was expected to be honest. I enjoyed.
