Hellbound? (2012)

Thank God that Mark Driscoll was in this movie.
25 December 2014
There is the good and bad with this film. The bad is many people telling lies about Hell by simply telling us their opinion and how they feel and therefore deceiving people who are watching this movie. So many of the people interviewed in this documentary don't want to believe in Hell and want to convince us that Hell isn't real. But I am very thankful that Mark Driscoll was in this movie to tell us the truth about Hell. Hell is real; it is forever; and most people go there. The only hope is Jesus Christ and for us to put our trust in Him and to repent. I still found this documentary interesting and worth watching and recommend this movie but I do not want anyone to be deceived.

Good entertainment but a problem with the Christian message
25 December 2014
So many people simply hate this movie just because it mentions Jesus and God and because it is wholesome entertainment and they give idiotic reasons to give this movie such a bad rating. This movie succeeds at being entertaining and being family friendly. My only problem with this movie is that it preaches a false gospel that Jesus will just accept you for being you without having to repent. The intentions for this movie is good and it is a well-made movie but I don't like movies that deceive people. I enjoy Christian movies and the truth of the faith and gospel is important to me. Christians are supposed to remember that we are not to live like the world and we are to do the will of God and repent and preach the truth. Other than having a problem with the Christian message in the movie I know that this is a well-made movie no matter what anyone says.

The True Nature of The Beast
23 May 2012
If you want to understand truth of Bible Prophecy do not turn to the Left Behind movies. The Left Behind movies are entertaining but not scripture accurate and the Left Behind series are deceiving many people. This movie was made on a much lower budget but it is entertaining with a very well written script that is scripture accurate.

Many biblical end-time movies are based on an end-time delusion that cannot be supported by the Bible but this one is an exception. I am happy that they done such a good job with such a low budget. The movie features some great action scenes as well.

My only hope is that more people get a chance to see this movie.

How much would you sue Satan for????
30 August 2011
Luke O'Brien, a washed out Christian decides to sue Satan (played wonderfully by Malcolm McDowell) for $8 trillion dollars - blaming him for all of the world's problems. Is Luke in over his head when the devil actually shows up to defend himself in court? It's the trial of the century and a trial of good vs. evil. We learn that Luke is a man who has done things he would rather people did not know about and like most of us can only blame himself for. This is more than just a court trial - it's an examination of ourselves and the world we live in. A very entertaining and important movie that should be seen by all.

'Suing The Devil' is my favorite movie of 2011. 9 / 10

Tim Chey - Master Christian Filmmaker
16 June 2011
Tim Chey (director of Suing of The Devil) has created a great Christian thriller with The Genius Club. It's a top-notch Christian film that holds your interest with great suspense and it definitely entertains. The movie works both as a Christian film and as a great source of entertainment. Stephen Baldwin and Tom Sizemore is great as well as the rest of the cast. The movie is very much a dialogue-driven film and the script is well-done. Some talk about God and religion but it's not over-done to the point where it's all preachy and stuff. The talk about God should not take away from the entertainment aspect allowing anyone (Christians and non-Christians) to enjoy the movie. It's definitely a provocative film that makes you think of the problems that the world is faced with. In my books this movie is a must-see. 5/5

As a Christian I have to condemn this film.
24 June 2010
I used to love this film for it's poetic and visual style and that Hal Hartley style I fell in love with which includes the dialogue and the way the characters move about and the humor. I considered this film a beautiful work of art. But I came to the conclusion that since I believe in The Bible that I have to accept that this movie is blasphemous and goes against the true Word of God and thus an attack on God and came to the realization that God would not approve of this movie no matter how much of a sense of humor God may have. The movie is fictional but still teaches a false gospel and by doing so is very dangerous and wrong. False gospels like this do not take God seriously, and non-believers will find this gospel (despite the fact that we already know is fictional) is more appealing and more attractive that what The Bible actually tells us and thus help lead more people astray and not accept the fact that the Apocalypse in the Bible must happen as the divine justice of a most perfect God against a most wicked world.

watch as prescribed
18 October 2009
"i realized that i would never be happy and i am much happier because of it". I remember when I first watched the film many years ago (on VHS) I didn't think much of it and years later I gave it another go because I am a Kids in the Hall fan. It turns out there are many who prefer the movie who have given it a second or more viewings. The movie is silly (which is one thing I love) and also quite brilliant. I have to say it has earned the title of being a cult classic and is up there with the Monty Python movies. Much of the dialogue itself is funny and the characters just add so much humour to the screen. The only real problem I have with the movie is the DVD. The DVD lacks completely of special features (and is now out of print). Where is the trailer? (which is totally worth seeing over and over again). Where are the deleted scenes? (There happens to be several deleted scenes). What about the alternate ending (Which is worth watching). Maybe the movie could have been funnier if some of the removed scenes had made it's way into the movie. But still the movie is fine the way it is but again the DVD should feature the removed content in order to appreciate this movie even more. I've seen the work print of the movie and of course the movie itself and yet the trailer has moments that is in neither. What is that all about? Anyway I think the Kids have done a great job here and this movie is perfect for a good laugh but it makes me sad and depressed to see all the missing content from the DVD. Then again watching this movie is a great cure for depression.

Great Canadian Show
15 February 2008
I have recently become a Douglas Coupland fan and was very excited to find out that jPod was going to become a show. I actually only started reading the novel after the show had been advertised. I feel the need to address that a television show and a novel are two different forms of mediums and I will treat them as such. As a television show I find it very entertaining and am actually impressed that a television show that actually holds my interest can be Canadian. The only other Canadian show (of fiction) I am a fan of is the Kids in the Hall. For years I have given up on television but thanks to jPod and the show Reaper I have reasons to watch TV again. I recommend this show and want nothing but the best for this great Canadian show.

Twin Peaks: Northwest Passage (1989)
Season 1, Episode 1
entering the town of twin peaks
18 January 2005
I fell in love with the show based around the murder of Lara Palmer. As for this movie it's great if you love the show, or if you just want to enjoy a great movie. It's a sin this is not officially available on DVD, please do not waste money on the Hong Kong import (poor quality). The VHS is much better. This Twin Peaks film was directed by the one and only David Lynch (one of my favorite filmmakers). It stars the young Lara Flynn Boyle (from the show 'The Practice'). This movie starts with a beautiful song and we see beautiful imagery, this is the beginning to this masterpiece. "She's dead wrapped in plastic". Who killed Lara Palmer, well this movie somewhat answers that. For those interested in continuing watching the series I recommend you to stop watching this film about 90 minutes into the movie, after Sheriff Truman introduces Cooper to Lucy's nightly donut spread, and the jail scene with James, Bobby, and Mike, there is a scene where the Sheriff visits Josie.

"It must have happened right around this time yesterday," Truman says to Josie.

"I'm afraid," Josie says.

Next there is a shot of the traffic light, blowing in the breeze. Stop the movie at the next scene where we see Laura's mother sitting by herself on the sofa, smoking. I recommend this video, and the series, and the prequel 'Fire Walk With Me'. Go rent it if you have not already seen it.
