Would It Kill You to Laugh? (2022)
This "comedy" gives me no reason to laugh
The title is quite appropriate. No, it wouldn't kill me to laugh but please, give me a reason to laugh. Five minutes into the show, I thought of turning it off because there wasn't anything funny to laugh at. But I gave it a chance and kept watching. After 30 minutes of watching unfunny and annoying actors who do not know how to act, I decided not to waste any more of my time and turned it off. The one good thing is that I got the name of the actors, Kate Berlant and John Early. I will make it a point to not to watch any of the shows either one is in. I don't want to waste my time on them ever again.
Somebody Somewhere (2022)
Funny, heartwarming, sincere
This TV series is outstanding in so many levels. The characters are so real and the acting is excellent. Bridget Everett and Jeff Hiller deserve Emmy awards for their work. The rest of the cast are also all great. The show is funny, heartwarming and sincere.
Prisoners (2013)
It started well then fizzled towards the end
This movie started out well, very dark but engrossing. However, about midway towards the end, it decided to change tone and go Hollywood by dropping the dark mood and worked towards a lighter and feel good resolution. It killed the whole impact it seemed to be working on at the start. It could have been good but the Hollywood need for a good ending for the lead star (Jackman) and the other important characters ruined it.
Pieces of Her (2022)
Increasingly annoying
It started out as interesting and exciting but became increasingly implausible and annoying with each episode, The mother, Jane, is the most annoying snd irrational character in this series.
WeCrashed (2022)
Very poor lighting
I cannot stand movies with very poor lighting. This is one of them. You cannot see the faces of the actors. Why can't they pay for a little bit of lighting?
Silencio (2018)
All around bad movie
Terrible storyline, bad directing and made even worse by the poor acting of the lead actress Melina Matthews. Why does she keep whispering even in scenes where she was supposed to be extremely furious? Pretty face, though.
Tunnelen (2019)
Good until it started going melodramatic and stupid
It was very good with increasing build up of tension until midway when it started getting melodramatic, predicatable and illogical.
La cocinera de Castamar (2021)
Simplistic
Very predictable storyline, simplistic writing. Whatever you think may happen will happen.
Secrets of Sulphur Springs (2021)
Too serious
This.show is way too serious. There is not a shred of humor.
Unhinged (2020)
Brainless writing
Terrible script, totally irrational reaction by the female lead to every situation. Russell Crowe has sank so low to be in a movie with such a stupid script.
Anderson Falls (2020)
All around bad
This movie has bad writing, bad directing and bad acting.
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Engrossing
Totally engrossing. You have to pay attention so you don't get lost in all the details and motives of every character. It got my full attention in all ten episodes because it was written, directed and acted very well. Good cinematography, too. I hope there is a second season.
Lost in Translation (2003)
big disappointment
I was excited to watch this movie after it won several awards and different award shows and universally hailed by critics. It was a big disappointment! It did not have any plot. Even the director admitted that in an interview. The characters were bored and they effectively got me very bored also. I kept waiting for it to turn around and show something interesting but that never happened. I think people who liked it were brainwashed into thinking that there is something deep and intellectual about this movie and admitting you don't like it may make you sound dumb. Hey, you can call me stupid but this is really a bad movie.
It reminded me so much about "My Dinner With Andre" which was in every critics top 10 list the year it was released. I saw it and could not believe they even made this movie about 2 very uninteresting middle aged guys talking over dinner throughout the movie. Is that supposed to make you look intellectual if you sort of eavesdropped on two old people talking for almost two hours?
