Batman Begins (2005)
10/10
Best Batman ever.
16 June 2005
everything about this movie was just fantastic: direction was great, casting was flawless, cinematography was awesome, etc etc. Christian Bale is the perfect fit for Batman, changing from a tortured and saddened soul to the crime fighting dark night. Supporting cast is brilliantly played, and they all take their roles very very seriously. Director Chris Nolan got it right, and explored a dark and mesmerizing story of how Bruce Wayne Became the Batman, and how the Batman became Gotham's last hope. 10/10, go see this right away, i don't think anyone could not not like this movie, yes the only complaints are that Katie Holmes cant act (honestly she did what she was supposed to- i saw nothing wrong in her performance), and that the fight scenes were choppy (yes- but i did not mind in the slightest bit). Nolan and team have recreated and recharged the Batman Franchise, and boy is it better then ever!

Get Ready For More Bourne!
23 January 2005
The Bourne Supremacy is the sequel to the successful Bourne Identity spy thriller. This movie, directed by a new director, is given a different yet extremely exciting feel to it. The casting is still great, with Matt Damon bringing a deadpan portrayal to the Bourne character. Hes very good in this role, which commits a great success to the whole of the movie. Supporting players Brian Cox and Julia Styles, along with newcomer Joan Allen, all provide stellar support for Bourne. The action is intense and really well done, and the plot is thrilling and will surprise you quite a bit. The camera-work is extremely fast paced, and overall it has a gritty, captivating style. With all of these elements together, you got one great action thriller that in many cases even surpasses Identity! Movies like this are hard to come by, in todays times with many action pictures that just don't work and become tedious. Ill give this near perfect- *** and 1/2 outs 4 Star's- definitely see The Bourne Identity before this- don't fret: you will be very entertained.

King Arthur (2004)
9/10
really enjoyed this film
26 December 2004
I think King Arthur is a much rather underrated film, and a good film at that. It is a more gritty, real take of King Arthur and his knights, although in Fuqua's version the knights are believed to be samatian, and they joined the round table because of the roman empire's decree, that certain samatians, and their sons and sons after that, owe a debt to the empire. In the mix is a story about how the knights have one last mission to fulfill before they can go home, and in doing so they encounter the woad's, savage warrior's from the woodlands, and the barbaric Saxon army. The story in my opinion, is just another take on the King Arthur Legend, and one should not be concerned as to why bruckheimer would try to prove a different legend into fact. It is both an interesting and fresh take on king Arthur, and people will appreciate the mud-flinging gritty sword-fights and battle scenes.

The casting is nothing short of excellent, as Clive Owen brings a dark, passionate portrayal to the character of Arthur. He has the look, and the acting ability to be both stirring and convincing. Keira Knightly i think is a wonderful actress, not even 21 and she did most if not all of her own stunts! Very beautiful and powerful performance, its as good as it gets- cant wait to see her later work. All the supporting actors do a fine job, bringing their own distinct traits to each of the knights, and stellan skarssguard is just scary as the leader of the Saxon's.

The film looked visually breathtaking. The cinematography was very good, and the costumes and sets had a very gritty quality to them, as well as historically accurate and all around nice looking. The acting was on par- the dialog was sometimes maybe a little cheesy and some parts made me laugh rather then be tense, but with that aside the actors and crew did a fine job. The battles are particularly nice, especially the ice skirmish and the final battle, with dazzling sword-fights that may have been seen before- but were done very nicely.

i wouldn't say this is the best epic type picture ever made, but truthfully i would say to people that they should give it a chance. Its a both dramatic and fun movie for anyone who likes sword and sandal epics, and don't forget Hans zimmer's brilliant scores for the film- honestly i see some of the reviews and i say how can people say such things- i didn't see anything wrong with the film (im not that big into proper historical documentation- if the actors speak in the wrong accent or something i don't notice and couldn't care less)- i wouldn't change a thing- and ill give it a 9/10- satisfied me enough to want to buy it on DVD. :)

this is my favorite movie :D
24 July 2004
some people may not agree whatever- this is the movie i grew up watching as a kid- its just something i cant say one bad thing about- i think there is no one that could have done a better job other then arnuld- personally i think this is his best film- he can be great in terminator and predator- but the emotional power and vivid action made me salute him as an actor- he didn't need to speak that much but when he did- u believed he was conan- and that he really wanted revenge- any movie that i have ever seen to date- i would still rate lower then this just because i think its that good- some people will view it as corny, a plot that is not coordinated, stupid characters, and whatever else people think (i like movies because of the romance, drama, action comedy etc- not because of a "well developed plot" or "in depth characters"), but I see this as a great sword/sorcery movie for anyone who wants too see the genre at its best, and arnuld at his best.- 10/10
