The Archies (2023)
Absolute trash with one good song
To be honest I only watched it because I'm a very big fan of SRK's and I wanted to see how his daughter is gonna do as an actor and I was not impressed at all. Beside Sohanna Khan being way below average the whole movie sucked. It felt so fake, everyone having a forced smile throughout the whole movie. The setting looked fake, the dialogues were cringe, all the songs were boring, except for the one where the girls are dancing in skate shoes which I found a bit interesting to watch.
The story and the characters are not engaging at all, I didn't care about a single one of them except for the girl who worked at the hair salon, she can improve as an actor imo.
Pretty sure the rest of the cast are going to be flops since the SRK charm over Sohanna's debut is over now and we've all seen she can't even do a Poo character right. Shame, since I really wanted one nepo kid to work and it failed miserably.
Chandramukhi 2 (2023)
why is such talent wasted?
Kangana is no doubtedly on of the few best actresses we have right now. Why is Indian cinema wasting her on such craps and non actresses like Taapsee get to work with Rajkumar Hirani and SRK?? The movie was one of the stupidest I've watched and I'm sorry that she is wasted on this. I only watched it for her, ended up with a headache. She was great but the rest of the cast, the story, direction, writing etc. Was crap. Just crap. Watch it if you're a die hard Kangana fans, her appearance is pleasant, though for a very short time, but you have to tolerate the rest of the stupidity and below average cast for it or like me fast forward to her part.
Josh (2000)
Missed Opportunity
I love this movie. I watched it about 15 years ago and I still find myself humming the music like sailaru sailre or apon bola. The story is pretty good, the acting is amazing, SRK is incredible and I only like Aish's face but she is really good in this. But the love interests are pretty bland. The guy who Aish's character loves is a really bad looking and boring, Priya Gill is really good the only problem is we only see her the first half and when SRK finally gets the girl we don't see her at all. It is really one of my all time favorites but I have to skip the parts with Aish and the guy cause there's literally no chemistry. This movie would have been a perfection if done a little better.
Sardar Udham (2021)
Amazing acting from Vicky
From storytelling to cinematography to acting, this movie is brilliant.
And may I add that Vicky Kaushal is going to be one the greatest actors in Bollywood history if he keeps this path. He has done some really great works, Masaan, Raman Raghav 2.0, Uri and he never disappoints even in a terrible movie like Bhoot. Hope to see him soon in another awesome movie again.
Friends: The One with Chandler's Dad (2001)
Is it me or Rachel is beyond annoying??
Stealing someone's car when they specifically told you not to touch their car? She is so manipulative and spoiled it's not funny.
Black Mirror: Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too (2019)
Did they need money???
It looked like Cyrus had paid them big bucks so they'd feature her and the story she's written about herself on the show, 'cause that abomination I just watched couldn't have been a creation of a BM writer.
Maskhare Baz (2019)
my favorite Iranian film of the year
Everything about this movie is perfect, I've watched it four times and would do it another 40 times.
The cinematography is amazing in spite of the film being shot in a barber shop, acting's awesome especially of Ali Nasirian and the story's great.
Highly Recommended!!!
Kalank (2019)
why this much hate??
I really don't know the reason behind people's hostility towards Alia, she's gorgeous, she can act (Highway, Raazi, Udtaa Punjab) and can compete with the actresses from the past generation like Deepika, so who cares if her dad's a director? People use the word nepotist for only a small group of such actors including Alia, even though everyone knows Deepika's dad was a famous badminton player so don't tell me he didn't pull some strings for the future of his daughter!!!
As for this movie it was beautiful, the pace was slow, but the cinematography and acting were great. Don't listen to people who hate such a great movie because they hate Alia (or other actors) for no apparent reasons.
Bareilly Ki Barfi (2017)
A great movie ruined by bad acting
The story is so sweet, the directing and editing and everything else about this movie is awesome, but god Kriti Sanon needs to do something else other than acting. She had zero chemistry with Ayushmann, and practically everyone else she shared the screen with. The movie would have been at least a 9 if it weren't for this untalented and annoying part of it. Still recommended just try to ignore her.
Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019)
A Fresh Look at Bundy's Life
This movie was very interesting cause it's not about the gore like other serial killer movies, it's about the life of Ted Bundy and how it affected people around him. Zac Efron was amazing, I never knew he had this sort of acting ability in him, but he nailed it and if he keeps on the right track there's a very bright future ahead of him.
Highly recommended.
Big Little Lies (2017)
bad and predictable
At first with the high ratings and the star cast I thought I'm going to watch an unforgettable TV show, especially with it coming from HBO, but after the first episode I realized it's only the hype and the star cast that is keeping this show running. Yeah the acting is great there's no question there (hence the 4 stars), but for what? A stupidly unbelievable and predictable story? Such a waste!!!!
It's not worth your time, don't waste it on this crap!
Zero (2018)
only for Katrina
The movie was so stupid, it almost seemed as if they were making fun of disabled people. The only good thing about it was Katrina's gorgeousness and Shah's dimples
Love Per Square Foot (2018)
Vicky Kaushal; PURE TALENT
This is one of the cutest Bollywood movies I have ever seen. The story is entertaining, music is good, characters are engaging, but apart from all of these great features, Vicky Kaushal is the one who blew my mind.
He is to become one of the greatest Bollywood actors. I just couldn't believe this goofy and sweet boy is the same as that sadist from Raman Raghav 2.0. He effortlessly portraits any role he's given, and I really hope to see more and more of him in the future.
Rahasya (2015)
A Waste of Time, something that started pretty good ended so stupid I'm still in shock!!!
I had read a lot of good reviews about this movie and was looking forward to watching it, since some of the Indian thrillers I've recently watched have been satisfying; such as Talvar, Highway, Pink, No One Killed Jessica etc. etc.
But this was not one of them. The story starts out so complicated that I was wondering what kinda geniuses would the writers be, to wrap it up in a decent a way, but it didn't end with a good or even an ok twist. The twist connected to all the incidents throughout the movie was so dumb and childish that I could not believe the rating was so high for this movie.
I gave it a three only for some good acting.
Gosh the part where he exposes the wife of murdering the kid and she repeatedly answers: "huh? huh?" And to believe such a stupid person whose only response to all these allegations is "Huh?", instead of a good alibi or explanation, is behind the master plan of a double murder, is impossible.
I don't even wanna talk about the plot holes and waste more time on this garbage.
Katti Batti (2015)
I waited so long for Kangana and Imran to pair up, but...
Ever since Imran Khan's JTYJN and Kangana's Fashion I wanted to see them on the big screen, I luv'em both a lot and they are both so talented and cute looking.
For some years I was into Russian culture so I barely watched any hindi movie, until recently that I heard in dono me movie agaya hai. I was so happy, remembering Imran Khan's interview in 2010 saying he'd like to do a movie with Kangana. I checked the IMDb and was shocked by the rating but I loved them too much to not give this movie a try.
Even though watching them together was a treat, Kangana looking incredibly gorrrrg and Imran looking as handsome as always, the movie was a mess. I couldn't help but fast forwarding it. I never thought I'd say this someday about a Kangana and Imran movie but, Not at all recommended!!!
Ittefaq (2017)
way too many plot holes
As much as I love Siddharth and want to like this movie, I can't.
Where do I even start. The fact that a forensics can't even guess the amount of material in a pill by weighting it when an average person like me easily can, or the fact that in each of those stories he is hit in a different part of his head and by a simple test they could've found out who's telling the truth or finding out that Shekhar was his wife's lawyer just needed a few questioning of the acquaintances which they didn't, or maybe the movie's tryina mock the police and their inadequacies!
Plus the twist was way predictable, it would've been way better if he had killed his own wife and the woman had killed the husband but one got locked up and the other got away.
Dilwale (2015)
A Horribly Wasted Kajol-Shah Rukh Jodi
I love to see Kajol and King Khan together, I mean who doesn't? But this movie was so boring, so stupid and pointless with forgettable uninteresting songs that even watching these two together on the screen couldn't stop me from fast-forwarding. I think the only, and only reason for them to have accepted to star in this horrible movie was kind of like that of Bill Murray's signing the Garfield movie thinking "Joel Coen" (one of the Coen brothers) has written it, later finding out it was written by a "Joel Cohen" with a big H for Horrible!! Shah and Kajol too signed the contract without reading the script based on Rohit Shetty's name and when they found out what a swamp they've gotten themselves into they contractually couldn't get out.
Looking at Aamir's movies in recent years such as PK and Dangal and Shah's Dilwale, I must say I am so disappointed in my favorite Khan.
The 3 stars are only for the song they had together which I can't even remember what it was about, but they were beautiful and the cinematography of that song was mesmerizing.
Parenthood (1989)
The Ending Ruined it
It's a great entertaining movie but the ending not only couldn't live up to the rest but also pulled the whole movie down a bit. It's hilarious and smart in all kinds of ways and stories are realistic even when they're weird, acting is good particularly by the little Joaquin Phoenix who looks a lot like his precious older brother, River, in this.
Through the whole movie you never feel like the writers have taken you as a dumb person trying to make you laugh with stupid pointless jokes, but the ending is like someone new has joined the writing team and has dumbed down everyone, from the cast and crew to the audience, pulling it down from a brilliant movie to a mediocre comedy, but one wouldn't regret watching it and it definitely deserves your time!
Como agua para chocolate (1992)
Doesn't do justice to the book
When I read the book I was mesmerized by the beautiful imagery, the combination of magic realism, love, sex and food; I didn't expect much from this movie, but what I just saw was horrible beyond imagination.
With all those materials given in the book the cinematography could've been amazing instead we're forced to watch some amateurish uninteresting pointless shots of everything. Half of the very important parts of the book was omitted, and I don't even wanna bother with the acting! That doctor was supposed to look kind, but with all that unnecessary smiles he looked like a pervert who tries to smile his way out of looking like one.
You can read the book and have a blast instead of having a headache by watching this.
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
A thriller, that thriller fans don't want to miss. At All!!
I rarely watch a movie without stopping it every 15-20 minutes to do something, and it doesn't mean those movies are bad, it's just that, this is a habit of mine. But this movie kept me staring at my laptop the whole time. I stopped once to get a glass of water. You just can't get your mind off of it until the very end.
I don't know what else to add, this is a thriller that thriller fans don't wanna miss. Highly recommended!
If I Stay (2014)
Just Avoid It!!
I can't believe I wasted my evening on this. An immature story good enough only for girls below twelve years of age. I wonder why Hollywood likes to glorify self-centered annoying little girls who only complain about everything and the only purpose of other people's existence is to comfort them. I guess the industry needs us, girls, as needy as possible and this is its way of brainwashing us. T'was boring, stupid and pointless. I gave it a two because the first 10 minutes, the whole punk rock family with the cello lover daughter looked pretty interesting; could've been an interesting movie as well, but it was a big torturesome bore, hungry for money.
We Bought a Zoo (2011)
Enjoyable, if you don't take it too seriously
It's a decent family movie unless you expect something out of ordinary in a family movie. I loved its kind-of unusual theme, with beautiful views and animals. Matt Damon is great, the kids are cute and Scarlett is gorgeous.
For me it was a great way to lose myself into a fantasy tale, forgetting everything around me for 2 hours and enjoy the kind of life I always dream for myself, but can never get my hands on. The complications and the solutions might not seem real, but then again it's a family comedy with a touch of fantasy, not a drama or a documentary. So don't have your hopes high, that you will watch an incredibly accurate movie which will inspire you through every step of your life; and you will be fine.
Spoorloos (1988)
Chillingly Wonderful
I came across this after reading River Phoenix's interview talking about this movie which persuaded him to accept the role, Boy, in Dark Blood which is also directed by George Sluizer and I'm so happy that I got the chance to watch this wonderfully beautiful movie.
The tension slowly builds up with Saskia telling Rex his dream of being stuck in an egg, then them being stuck in a dark tunnel, Rex dreaming the same thing and the antagonist being pulled over by the police for not wearing his seat belt gets away by pointing that he's claustrophobic; I don't know why I didn't see the ending coming. As a claustrophobic myself, I found this movie very very disturbing, and by disturbing I mean.. Good.
It's not a horror movie to make you jump outta your seat from time to time, but it'll haunt you for a long time.
La La Land (2016)
It coulda been OK if it wasn't for all the hype and expectations, but not now
I usually don't use the word "the worst" to describe a movie, but sometimes you have no other choices.
The opening reminded me of those stupid teen songs of today's that give me goose bumps outta disgust whenever I accidentally see them on TV, the story is boring and worn out, the music is forgettable and it gave me a headache that I won't be able to study tomorrow, the dancing is an uglified Singin' in the Rain and the performances are mediocre except for Emma's who also didn't deserve to win and a nomination was enough, for Isabelle Huppert was so perfect in Elle the award was hers and hers only. The only thing worth watching in this movie was the cinematography.
It could've been an OK average movie if it wasn't for all the hype but after the built up expectations it's one harsh slap in the face when you finally sit through it waiting for something extraordinary.
Silence (2016)
Only for the Cinematography
I strongly dislike religious movies, especially the ones with too many unnecessarily forced POVs, and also this movie is boring af; Had it been less long it might have had a better impact on the audience but 2 hours and 40 minutes of Christian drama is pure torture.
The bright, very bright tbh, part of the movie is the cinematography. It's simply marvelous, making the picture a delight to look at and it's s worth it, watching the movie only for that! Even though you might get sick and tired half way the movie of all the talent, time and money being mercilessly wasted.
