The Christmas Consultant (2012)
Sue me I liked it
I liked this movie very much. Was it an award winning movie? No of course not. It was a very sweet nice movie designed to make you smile and just feel good for a couple of hours. Well mission accomplished. It was a very different kind of movie for David Hasselhoff and I think he pulled it off quite nicely. All in all a very decent film. I highly recommend it.
Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011)
Why was this movie even made?
I consider myself to be an open minded guy. I see reviews of a movie and they have zero impact one way or the other on my desire or lack thereof to see the film. I see wonderful great reviews and if I was planning to watch the movie anyway then I want to see it more to see if it is as good as they say. Likewise if it has bad reviews I want to see it more to see if it really is that bad in either case the answer is no its neither as good or as bad as they say. This movie however was just AWFUL. No body it seemed wanted to be there. It was as if everyone really needed the money or lost a bet. It made no sense what so ever. The only real positive thing I can say about it is that it was better than Bangkok Dangerous and believe me that's not a hard thing to accomplish.
Dirty Dancing (2017)
Could've been worse Could've been so much better (may contain spoilers)
OK this movie didn't even come close to the original not by a long shot. The casting for the most part was decent except for Abigail Breslin as Baby. I kept hoping she would get hit by a car at some point. They added story lines where they didn't need them. They succeeded in some aspects the movie did turn out to be far better than expected. Where they failed and failed miserably is they tried to BE the original almost kept the entire script word for word except where they added new material. The guy playing Johnny delivered the key line "Nobody puts Baby in the corner." with about as much enthusiasm as a corpse. Would I watch it again? Probably but only if I had nothing better to do.
Unbreakable (2000)
Utter garbage
I consider myself fairly easy going on my movie reviews.I rarely give a terrible review. I am making an exception for this movie which deeply saddens me as I am a huge fan of both Bruce Willis & Samuel L. Jackson. But this is one of the biggest turds I have ever suffered through in my life, I kept hoping it would get better,it never did. The plot was flimsy, the script was atrocious. It seemed like everyone would rather be anywhere other than in this movie. I cant stress enough how bad this movie was, and I have seen some awful movies. AVOID THIS TRAINWRECK AT ALL COSTS. ITS TOO LATE FOR ME SAVE YOURSELVES!! You will thank me later, I promise you that.
10.5 (2004)
I liked it
Yeah OK not the best movie ever made but what do you expect? It was a TV movie with the budget to match. The acting was not great but when you don't have the best talent to start with you aren't going to have an Oscar or in this case an Emmy worthy performance. All that being said it was good for what it was. It was even better than some of your "blockbusters". Do I think the events in the movie could happen in real life? Maybe. Do I think they would happen just like that? Absolutely not. But it's a good way to kill a couple hours and enjoy yourself. No harm no foul. If the movie had a bigger budget and maybe some better talent in it who knows might be the best movie ever made or at least in the conversation.
Up in the Air (2009)
Dissapponting
I wanted to see this movie solely because one of my favorite actors was in it that of course being George Clooney. I have to say that I was very disappointed in the movie although his performance was good despite the lack of support from his co-stars. Really a flat uninspired movie all around which is a shame because it had such potential. But I still think George Clooney is one of the finest actors working today and he will recover from this train wreck. Not even Jason Bateman as the boss could have made this movie any better. Sorry George better luck in the future everybody gets a mulligan and this movie was yours my friend.
No Ordinary Family (2010)
Easily one of the best new shows.
I am a huge fan of No Ordinary Family it is a fresh original show the whole family can enjoy. The acting is incredible the story is believable. The show has Michael Chiklis from shows like "The Commish & The Shield" two very entertaining shows in their own rights. Plus he was also in the Fantastic Four movies. Also it has the truly delightful Autum Reeser from The O.C.. Really the only downside to this show is the rather plain and drab performance put for forth by Stephen Collins. He just doesn't have the acting chops necessary to play the villain. But over all I truly enjoy this show and hope to see it for many years to come.
Life on Mars (2008)
Gone Before it's Time
Well ABC has done it yet again. Had a wonderful show and left it hanging. They have some wonderful programming and they have some crappy programming. They have shows like "Lost" wonderful show they have "Grey's Anatomy" another great show. They also have "Life on Mars" wait a second no they canceled it. All I have to say is "What in the hell are you people doing up there?" You keep crap like "Desparate Housewives" my god that show is down right ridiculous but you cancel "Life on Mars" I am almost surprised Lost is still around to be honest with you I mean with the limited brain power in ABC studios it's a wonder.
Lean on Me (1989)
Great Movie
This movie is outstanding. Morgan Freeman gives a stirring portrayal of "Batman" Joe Clark. I had the pleasure once of meeting the real Joe Clark and was very impressed with him. All of the characters had their own story to tell. Had their own problems and their own outlook on life. The actors portraying them made you care what happened to them. Each person was real since this is a true story. Robert Guillame also gives one of the better performances of his career with this movie. Far better than Benson and in all due respect Benson wasn't all that bad really. This movie is a classic well-thought and acted out story. It will go down as one of the all time greats. 10/10
Batman Begins (2005)
You have got to be kidding me
This is by far the absolute worst Batman movie I have ever seen even the stupid 1967 movie was better than this garbage. Whoever made this disaster needs to be taken out back and put out of our misery. I mean Christain Bale was dreadful. Rutger Hauer was uninspired. Morgan Freeman who is usually a fine actor looks like he would rather be sitting in the electric chair than be in this movie. I can only hope that subsequent Batman movies will improve because well let's face it, it can't get any worse than this drivel. The Dark Knight has never been so stupid before. This movie was awful avoid at all costs. I think you may actually grow dumber from watching it.
The Dukes of Hazzard (2005)
Not as good as the show but still not bad.
I went to see the Dukes movie yesterday with much anticipation and anxiety. I grew up on the original Dukes of Hazzard and wanted to see this movie ever since I heard about it. I had no expectations of Academy Arard success or even to be as good as the show which is good because neither happened. While it was nowhere near as good as the show it didn't disgrace it either. Every part was played well and was portrayed well. A few exceptions Enos was boring, Cleatus was hardly visible save for one line of dialouge, and Rosco was not as comical as he was on the show. Other problems I had with the show was the apparent disrespect they had for the General Lee. You can say that it is just a car but any true Dukes fan will tell you that the car was the star. Bo would never use the General as a battering ram they way the did in the movie. I also thought some changes to the way characters were portrayed while good always room for improvement. Bo would never faint when kissed by a girl. Luke was the more responsible of the two and would never run around, and Jesse would never take part in the violence at the end of the movie and would never allow the boys to either. All that being said the Dukes were just being the Dukes even Jessica Simpson handled Daisy very well. 6/10
Saved by the Bell: Wedding in Las Vegas (1994)
Saved by the Bell
This movie was terrific! I was not a "Saved by the Bell" fan when the show first aired, in fact I never even watched it. I was watching another program that I had already seen and there was nothing else on, so I watched my first episode of "Saved by the Bell". The episode was the one where Screech and the gang were trying to sell his spaghetti sauce. Ever since then I have been hooked and now have the complete set going all the way back to "Good Morning Miss Bliss" and all the way through "Saved by the Bell: The New Class". This movie also brought back Lark Voorhies (Lisa Turtle), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Dennis Haskins (Principal Richard Belding)in scene stealing cameos, although Lisa was a prominent character in the movie. This also marks the first time I saw Liz Vassey "Schwing" as Mike Myers would say. All in all this movie rocks! A perfect end to a perfect show. I hope to see a "Saved by the Bell" high school reunion movie.
