Interrupted Melody (1955)
Wow!
Last night, I was surfing channels on foxtel (cable provider), where I came across a movie that was set in the Australian outback. AS this was not common for 1950's movies, I stayed to have a look for a while. This was at 10pm. I went to bed at 12am - due to how good this movie is! I recently was in a car accident that left me with spinal damage, and a friend of mine still in hospital. I want to tape it for her, as it taught me that no matter how hard it is, you can do it...so there, I am now empowered!
Thanks
Desk Set (1957)
This movie was different
I was shown this film when I was 12 years old, by my mother - who is a great Tracy/Hepburn fan - I am now 20 years old and I still love it, just for the banter between characters. It is a shame that most movies out today are romantic comedies that have no substance and exist on a revamped premise. The whole boy meets girl, they fall in love, something happens that splits them up (usually due to a misunderstanding) then they get back together and it ends up in a sickening montage at the end. This does not follow such formula, it is purely unique and fun. I now have to write another two lines to get this published (which I think is purely ridicicous, but here goes) State of the Union, Pat and Mike and Philly story are also some of my favourites.
