Unorthodox (2020)
One of my all time fav books made into a mini movie.
I am not sure why I even was drawn to the book, or how. But I bought it the week it came out. Some one today mentioned the four part series on Netflix, and I started crying. I just finished the series. The book, obviously was about Deborah Feldman the author, and readers got to see her life from early childhood on. However, book reader don't fret. Esther's story carries so much emotion, I watched it all Easter afternoon. 10 stars for the Netflix show and 100 stars for the book.
An Affair to Die For (2019)
Suspense Thriller
This could have been a mini series. Very well done. Had a "The Sinner" feel to it the entire time, and in a good way. Would have loved more backstory on each character. So much angst every single minute. Hard to write a review without giving anything away. Watch this movie!
The Leftovers (2014)
A very intelligent show
This show isn't for people that want the plot, and clues spelled out. This show is for people that love to pay attention to detail. Everything about this show is a clue. The acting is on point, and the music is key to every scene as well. I saw a statement on this show that was the truest explanation. "This show is about people who are living in the aftermath, it is the condition of ambiguity that I am interested in talking about" Character development is the key to this show. Connection of those leftover. Families all reaching out to find peace. I love the fact that all ages, all races, all denominations are present in this show. Seekers.
