Badland (2019)
Another western ruined
Who the hell is Kevin makely? Even a cast of name actors couldn't help him. Script was cliche. Another example of too much money for a dung heap. Rhythm really sucks. If we are going to save the Western then we have to do much better than this. Clean clothes, perfect makeup, lead couldn't ride a horse to save his ass. Trace out acted him in the opening scene and that ain't saying much. This industry is really hurting for good Westerns. Every freaking actor out there wants to play cowboy. The problem is they don't have a clue what a cowboy is. Mira sorvino wàs as believable as Bette midler would be in a western. A waste of time and money here and a detriment to what a western should be. Only ones worse are done by Travis Mills.
Before All Others (2016)
Above all others.
What a good family heartwarming film. It's so good to see a good faith based film. I really enjoyed John Eubers performance. All the cast was good. The film does need more score. You can't go wrong with Prescott az a location. Arizona is beautiful. I had a close friend who had this debilitating desease and sadly passed away. I had no idea how this desease can affect a person. So much here I could relate to. Getting old is one of them. There's a few good life lessons here the best of which is it's all in God's time. And if we are ever in need of help, good friends, strong church and a caring community can all be a comfort.
The Runners (2020)
Lame
One of the worst films I've seen in a while. Tom had to do these things to support a habit. Rest his soul. Micah Lyons hasn't caught on to movie making yet. No lead by any stretch. Waste of time. Bad acting. Pointless script. What was executive producer thinking? Anyone can write a script. Get a money man to produce. Won't make it good no matter what name you pay. Not even a growing project. Where do you go from here. Lyons should stick to raping aspiring actors with the non sense classes that promise a role in his lame films for free in the name of Jesus Christ. And Jesus knows what he is doing. Claiming to be a Christian film maker doesn't make it so. Pass on this one. No message here.
Redeeming Love (2022)
All Aspects!
All aspects of this film are absolutely brilliant the storyline the actors top to bottom cinematography cinemagraphics the directing I just can't emphasize how well done this film is in fact it's inspired me to continue doing indie film. You won't be disappointed with this it's a great evening of entertainment and great storyline you have to catch. Amazing continuity and wardrobe the lighting and and DP work is spectacular. The locations and sets were amazing as well the lighting I cannot emphasize enough how well done this film is. You won't be disappointed and it'll be a great evening of entertainment my wife loved it.
The Redemption of Henry Myers (2014)
Same old NM scene.
So here we are in the faith based genre now in NM. As usual the same old favorite union actors for the region are once again in the cast. My Lord! Characters are weak, storyline lacks. But it's just the same faces which makes it just plain boring. Couldn't hold my interest for too long. Film quality is good, can't go wrong with NM cinematography. It's about time for some new faces. Some different locations in the US. Western era pertains to the entire us and not just Az, Tx, NM. Somebody did get the time period correct weapons, tack, wardrobe is close but too clean as usual. Especially liked the clean plucked eyebrows on the female lead.
Greater (2016)
Ensemble GREATNESS!
https://www.facebook.com/greaterthemovie/about/ OK friends and fans here is my review of Greater. First let me start by saying that Neal McDonough who was the older brother Marty in this film was excellent in his acting. Kudos! Most importantly as executive producer (Money man) he had confidence in a less known up and coming actor in Chris Severio. So much so that he put it all on the line by casting Mr. Severio as the lead Brandon Burlsworth. And let me say that decision was a good one. I saw the sacrifices and dedication of this young actor to bring to life Brandons character all the while maintaining the respect and dignity of this young mans family and character. Chris Severio did an excellent job as lead which is a tremendous amount of pressure in and of itself. The amount of time and physical sacrifice this actor put into his performance is obvious. The long awaited end result must have been a personal reward for this young actor. The entire cast was a good example of ensemble togetherness. I did not see egos or any upstaging in the entire film. Living in Arkansas for sometime I always said that a film shot there showing the great fall colors and landscape would present some awesome cinematography. And this film did just that. Even the locals that were cast came through to make a GREATER overall film of a young man with strength, character and faith. I recommend this film for good family viewing as there was no harsh language or explicit scenes at all. Just good story telling and family values. "And" this is a true story!!!!!
