Mi nismo andjeli 2 (2005)
Few funny jokes in a very unoriginal story.
Highly anticipated follow-up, for in Serbia at least, cult comedy from Srdjan Dragojevic. The movie revolves around Nikola, (party all night, sleep with anyone or anything you can, then in the morning try to be a father to your daughter) 40 something years old guy from Belgrade and his attempts to stop his teen daughter from being a teenager. Half the film we see Nikola cursing at everything that moves. The other half, is Nikola fantasizing different ways to kill his daughter boyfriend's. O yes, Angel and the Devil pop up every 10 minute or so to say something more or less unrelated to the movie and give it longer running time. The movie is, in best, entertaining piece with one or two moments that will make you laugh your brains out. In worst, it is copy/paste humor from the others Srdjan Dragojevic movies with copy/paste story from 10 000 others "my kid is growing up what can I do to stop it / teen on the loose" movies. Unfortunately weakest of all Srdjan Dragojevic works.
Les invasions barbares (2003)
Who ewer said that story is dead was wrong!!!!!
I went to see this movie only because it won Best Screenplay award at Cannes Film Festival. I don't like French language and idea of spending 2 hours listening to it was very unpleasant. I still don't like French language but this is one of the best movies I seen in my life time. Uncompromising screenplay about the things we all know to be truth, but are reluctant to admit it. Until we find are self's face to face with it. Satirical look at modern society and the things in it, that is for most people taboo topics. Emotionally touching drama about life, choices and mistakes we made in it. The first movie with bolls since Fight Club. And it's Canadian!!! Yes Canadian!!! Go figure
