Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda (1992)
please see this movie...
a neglected masterpiece...i am sure if people will get to know about it more and more will like it..there is no dearth of good cinema lovers in India...not everybody loves over the top romance..but this movie at least deserves more than 5000 votes so that it can enter the top movie list...please see and vote this movie...it will prove to be an experience you will never forget..such beautiful illusion of fact meeting fiction is never seen in Hindi cinema before...Shyam Benegal sir is a magician..and Rajit Kapoor...what a phenomenal actor..its a shame Bollywood didn't gave him the recognition he deserved..its good to see an actor like Christoph Waltz being recognised in Hollywood only because of his acting..Rajit Kapoor, Pankaj Kapoor are of same talent but its their luck(or bad luck) that they are in an industry where over the top over actors are megastars and those deserving are struggling for recognition....
Kabuliwala (1961)
beauty...sheer beauty . period
writing this review only because its sad to see that so few people have rated this and written about it.i watched GARM HAWA of balraj sahni and found him as a phenomenal actor but after watching this movie i rate him on the very top of bollywood, even above likes of Dilip kumar and Amitabh bacchan.cried while watching a movie after a long time.song AE MERE PYARE WATAN is widely acclaimed but alesser known song GANGA is also beautiful.this movie will make you think of the time when inspite af all the cultural and religious differences India was united and carried it beautifully.its sad now we have lost that unity somewhere and instead of love our hearts are now filled with hatred thanks to politics.watch it for its message, beauty, acting, story and music.don't miss this please.
Anand (1971)
should have been in IMDb top 50
this film should be in IMDb top 50.i have seen a lot of films apart from Hollywood and bollywood, old as well as new.this film stands out.one of the best from bollywood.just 15 minutes into the film and the beautiful writing grips you with the baritone of amitabh bacchan.amidst your awe comes rajesh khanna, who elevates the film to a new level.between the tragedy of the story film is filled with humour which makes the film more dramatic.and in the climax very few persons i know can hold on to their tears.this is a gem which needs to be recognised with global audience.legendary hrishikesh mukherjee deserves international recognition for his groundbreaking movies.15 out of 10.superb.
The Beast (1988)
one of the best war movie of all time
an underrated gem.deserves at least an 8 on IMDb.greatest achievement of the film is to allow us to empathize with the afghans as well as the Russian soldiers ,although we know that Russia has the negative image here.also we get to understand the pathetic condition of the Afghanistan.apart from these achievements as a movie also the film entertains and thrills you to the core with its awesome climax.definitely in my top 10 war movies of all time along with Tae gukji, My way, spr, Platoon, Full metal jacket, Deer hunter, Cross of iron, Letters from iwo jima and The thin red line .definitely a 10 out of 10 for me.
Mai wei (2011)
best war movie till date
wow.amazing.this is the best war movie i have seen till now.i even found it better then saving private Ryan, both on the technical front and on emotional content.it was so emotional that i even started to feel frustrated that i don't understand a single word of Korean language.when u don't understand the language and only see a film by reading subtitles then despite all your effort you fail to relate to things emotionally.but despite that it was a wonderful experience.the director only got better from TAE GUK GI.technically you can favor saving private Ryan but over all this film was better.Korean film industry amaze me with its versatility.its sad that majority of film going public looks forward to Hollywood for artistic as well as exiting cinema but these guys here are setting new benchmarks and standard.they deserve more respect, attention and fatter production giants.please see this movie.this is my second review only on IMDb though i watch lots of movies.believe it guys its that good that after watching 500 movies i find a movie that is worthy enough to be written about.
Taare Zameen Par (2007)
Aamir khan should direct more
simple and predictive plot made interesting by a superb directorial debut.all those who complain that this was was too much emotionally manipulative, well lets make this clear.those who are nor attached to their parents or at a certain stage of life detaching from them was neither painful, why would they shed a tear for a boy 8 years old separating from his mother ,taking all the pain of adjusting in a boarding.i am very proud to say that we Indians are very much pampered by our mothers , which explains our attachment to them.also credit must be given to Aamir khan for showing us the plight of a dyslexic child, their problem in this competitive world and a hint to the solution.i mean how many superstars in Bollywood are making use of their stardom to raise a social cause.everybody is interested in just cashing in their popularity by feeding us with crap after crap.that effort is deserving enough of a positive review.
Malcolm X (1992)
one of best and very important
this is my first review here but there is not much to say but what more can be said about the great American white propaganda.Clint Eastwood won best director and best movie for Unforgiven and Malcolm x was not even nominated in both the categories.beat that.and Denzel Washington was so powerful in that role that they had to include his name in the nominee list for best actor despite their all reluctance.Although Al Pacino was great and Unforgiven was even better western but they don't even come close to this biopic masterpiece.but no one wants to hear the oppressed and truth.Thats understood.pity.I request you all to kindly see this movie.
