As Told by Ginger (2000–2009)
A breath of fresh air
27 June 2004
While this show cannot compare to classics such as Rocko's Modern life or Ren & Stimpy, it is one of the best Nicktoons made in a while. It is one of those shows that captures your interest yet you can't explain why. Sadly, the Kid's network I grew up with is not the same as it once was, and there is little that todays kids will get to enjoy like I grew up with. However, compared to mediocre Catdog and plain awful Wild Thornberries, it is spectacular. As Told By Ginger is a small shimmer of hope in Nickelodeons future, which over the years has faded to black. One of the few good modern Nicktoons, hopefully it will fare better than the greats did.

In the land of the blind the one-eyed fish is king

There are only two nicktoons left that I thoroughly enjoy. One is As Told By Ginger. The other is Spongebob Squarepants. In 1999, I saw the commercials and said this show would be crap that would die in a season. Well, immediately i was proved wrong. Not only do I love this show, but i see yellow and green holes just about everywhere I go (then again I do live in So Cal). One of the stupidest, dorkiest shows I've ever seen, it leaves me in tears of Laughter every time. It has little artistic value but it needs none. Maybe Nickelodeon can follow this pace and someday be the powerhouse it once was. Hopefully, our kids will get to see the Nickelodeon we once loved. A silly yellow sponge may be our cartoon savior.

Rocko's Modern Life (1993–1996)
Creme de la Creme
27 June 2004
Warning: Spoilers
The early 1990's brought a time of Glory to Nickelodeon. To be a Nicktoon was something few shows could pull off. From Rugrats to Ren & Stimpy, kids could enjoy Nick practically 24/7. One of the best of these shows was Rocko's Modern Life. While simple and dorky by today's standards, :Spoiler: A wallaby moving from Australia to the States with a dim witted dog and even weirder friends :End Spoiler: this show was one of Nickelodeons best. While only 52 episodes made, they summed up the entire era. Now, it has been replaced by atrocities such as The Wild Thornberries and Rocket Power. Rocko's Modern Life was the best of the best, and it's a wonder why Nickelodeon doesn't elevate their ratings by showing it.

Rugrats (1991–2003)
Once a mighty stallion, now its time to put it out to pasture

I was barely older than any of the characters when it first came out and I from the start loved this show. The first three seasons were spectacular, making this one cartoon that will be a Nickolodeon classic forever. However, as it sums up its 10th season, its time to end it. Actually, it should have ended years ago. There are only so many adventures babies can have. The show, when it was brought back in 1997, it wasn't the same but it was still really good. Then, when they added baby Dil, it went down hill. By the time Kimi joined, the show was beyond help. It's time to save what little dignity is left and end it, letting retire as the classic it once was.
