Charming and Winning
30 April 2021
There are no trolls in this little gem of a film, but there apparently are in the reviews. This is a well produced, well acted, and well written story about two people very different from each other who discover themselves when fate throws them together. It's a bit retro in story and style, but that's where its charm comes from. Ray Barry, a veteran actor who you've seen across decades of movies, embodies his character with life experience and the wisdom only a life well lived can bring. His cohort, played by Randy Nazarian, plays off Barry in a winning combination. A buddy movie, a road trip movie, and a travel adventure all in one. The film has wit, wisdom, and the wherewithal to tell a fine story about not losing faith in life and not giving up on your dreams. Recommended.

Simple And Direct Realistic Possession Story
9 May 2019
What I liked about this movie was its naturalistic and unhyped flow of events occuring to a normal family we can all identify with. The younger actors in particular, playing the two daughters, came across as very real people just being themselves, though in an extraordinary situation. Much like the original Paranormal Activity, the day-to-day routines of family life are affected by the unnatural and the scares come out of those situations. A tale of demonic possession can go in any number of directions; here they treat it simply and directly, and it feels like they could really be your neighbors, trying to cope and continue to live their normal lives, but dealing with a most unusual and profound crisis.

Fun And Funny, With A Flavoring Of Fantasy
8 May 2018
This is a fun, well-paced movie that's carried by an excellent ensemble cast of young actors and some good supporting actors you'll recognize, like Mark Margolis, Kurt Fuller and Cynthia Stevenson.

What starts out as an improvised road trip grows into a quest of sorts as the group of buddies - two guys and two girls - each have their personal reasons or agendas for traveling with their friends across the Baja peninsula. Just when you think you know how this story is going to go, surprising developments and revelations turn things upside down for everyone.

If you like a road trip movie with engaging characters and a story that surprises you - just like a great journey does - Baja delivers that and more.
