The Toys That Made Us (2017–2019)
6/10
Educational, interesting but a few missing details
5 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show interested me with its first episode talking about Star Wars and Kenner vintage toys and other parts. The problem is they say there are 2 prototypes of the rocket firing Boba Fett when there are actually 4. They don't even bother talking about the last 17. With He-Man they don't talk about any other playset except showing visuals. Only Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain. They also left out the important part that just like Star Wars, there were bootleg toys that can be worth something. They were called "Beast Warriors" They also left out some details on cetain important toys regardless that they can't go over every single one.

Psycho (1960)

Creepy, classic and all out psychological
22 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Where do I begin? A low budget horror film that was a box office success and was a huge cultural phenomenon regardless of the "shower scene". A woman stole $40,000, that's right $40,000. Big money back then even for now. The young woman manages to escape the police and is intrigued by a young man named Norman Bates. He seems charming and innocent. But underneath lies a disturbed, split personality lunatic. He claims he lives with his mom who he tells the young lady she is mentally ill. When she suggests for her to be put away, the thought angered him and he got angry at her. Then comes the iconic shower scene shortly after. The next victim is a private detective. At the end of the film, it is discovered Norman killed his mom and kept her corpse and was role player her as himself to dominate Norman as his mom. The chilling part was at the end where you hear his thoughts, listen to his voice and see his sinister smile.

This film is psychologically disturbing. Creepy but very well written. Making it in black and white made it even creepier.

The greatest silent horror film and one of the greatest silent films ever. Lon Chaney at his best!
16 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This film is completely silent on VHS. The DVD and Blu Ray restoration has a musical soundtrack. Rick Wakeman has a modern day vinyl of this classic soundtrack. From the Dungeon depths of the Opera house, lies the mysterious Phantom of the Opera. Who is this man? Or monster? Or thing or ghost? In the beginning of a film you see a man with a lantern talking to the audience but it is not known what he says. The mask of the red death scene was awesome as portrayed in the musical adaptation. You actually see the Phantom with his mask off more than on. It ties into the 1910 Novel fairly well. One of the first jump scares in cinematic history is the unmasking of the Phantom. This film will either creep you out or entertain you or both. A well done film for its time. A classic for the ages. Lon Chaney's makeup was well done and the movie was well done. A MUST SEE.

An interesting take on this dark, horror love story
15 May 2023
Warning: Spoilers
From Lon Chaney to Claude Rains to Herbert Lom, The Phantom of the Opera. This adaptation takes place in England instead of France. The storyline was fairly good with fairly good writing. The ending was dramatic and overall a decent film. The Phantom was not Erik, though, but a professor who's music was taken credit of the cruel owner of the Opera house. His face got burned severely when he decided to break in to the paperwork building and destroy all of the falsely named work. Hence, he seeks vengeance as every story of The Phantom of the Opera has. Or most of them. He does have a mute assistant who helps the Phantom which was an interesting add on. The acting was fairly good and this movie wasn't ultra cheesy but fairly well done. Better than the early 40s horror adaptation but definitely not the 1920s silent classic Lon Chaney Phantom of the Opera.

A pretty good cult classic old school sci-fi show
13 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoy watching this show. It's a shame it was cut short. The idealism and work may be a slight Star Wars ripoff but it also had its own elements. Starbuck, one of the main characters is my favorite and I plan on wearing a Colonial Warrior Vipor pilot vest like his for a convention. This show is forgotten by a lot of people or people don't know about it. I like it as a sci-fi fan and old technology style. Like the fact in a Cylon ship, they use the same three Cylons but it still keeps you interested. The Cylons are pretty cool looking villains and the other villains and heroes are pretty cool, too. The soundtrack is also pretty good and the show overall is not too cheesy. A good show but not great.

"It's like a B movie show"
13 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The underrated classic song hits like 'It's a B movie show" or "Worthless" were fairly good. The other songs and stuff were eh, not that engaging for older, child hearted audiences. They did do a Jack Nicholson impersonation which was pretty cool. The sequel I remember seeing as a kid but I'm a much better judge of movies now. It had heart but it wasn't a huge hit if you know what I mean. The story was okay at best which inspired a better film series known as Toy Story. For young children ages 3-10 is a good age range for this sort of entertainment. If you're really old school, you're not gonna get a big hoot out of this film. It's not terrible but there's far better Disney Films out there. Even direct to video films.

Fairly good film. I don't understand all the hate,
25 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie shouldn't be hated on so much. It has a pretty good storyline, good action and fairly good entertainment. It has good camera angels with good acting. Not a top notch award winning movie, but not utterly horrible. This is definitely better than your average direct to video movie. A man who was sent to die as a Gladiator who freed Gladiators and sought warriors to fight the Ruler of first century A. D NOT C. E Rome. It was like Robin Hood and The Magnificent 7 in it's own way. It gave an historically accurate detail in the beginning of the film. The film wasn't ultra cheesy and was fairly well put together. A ground breaking film? No. A terrible, utterly horrible one of the worst films of all time? No. This is better than some more modern cinema.

Not so great story with a meh ending
18 January 2023
I love silent films. I got this from Amazon and watched it with my grandma, We were both disappointed. The acting was mediocre, the visuals weren't great either. The storyline was okay but a pretty boring and stupid movie. Not much entertainment value compared to other silent films let alone silent horror. They tried but failed. The Golem wasn't intimidating, the story lagged on, there wasn't great action. It's really a bummer as I love silent cinematography. I showed this to a movie buff and he wasn't impressed either. This film is one of the lower end silent films. Charlie Chaplin and Lon Chaney make FAR better movies than this.

Mediocre at best, different take on the classic story
7 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I found out about this old film and thought I'd like it. My grandma didn't when I watched it with her. I thought it was okay. The music and bright colors of the film were awesome. The storyline wasn't great. The Phantom had very little screen time. His story was boring and didn't really connect with Christine. Christine had two lovers and one was not the Phantom with romance interest. The ending should of ended with the dead phantom's mask. They continue the movie a few minutes longer. This is a musical, a romance, but not so much a "Phantom of the Opera" film. Okay at best, but it could have been better.

Who knew Peter Jackson would make good movies after this?
28 May 2022
This is an over the top B movie. The action was entertaining and it was funny as heck. The violence was so over exaggerated. This was so bad, it was actually good. This won't be everyone's cup of tea even for B movie lovers. The whole movie didn't feel like much of a plot but the action and terrible acting made you laugh. If you like vomiting violence and over the top cheesiness, you'll like this film. If you want a critically acclaimed Oscar winning film like his Lord of the Rings films, you won't want to see this.

Flash Gordon (1980)

Flash! Uh Oh! A funny movie with a good soundtrack.
5 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This film, in my opinion, was so bad that it was good. The whole soundtrack done by the well known British rock band Queen was hilarious. Saying "Flash!" Uh oh!" The special effects were cheesy as heck and the whole costumes in the movie made you laugh. The storyline was interesting and was decently done for a good/bad movie. It wasn't ultra violent or sexual so PG-13 or just PG is a good rating for the MPAA in my opinion. Flash Gordon was an earthing who was a He-Man aka a "MANLY MAN" from earth who traveled with a reporter and a mad scientist to space. Watch this, only if you don't take it seriously. If you like cheesy movies. You just might like it.

Good film that was good for its time and is still good now
9 April 2022
I like Greek Mythology a lot. This film was entertaining without being too violent. The animatronics were cheesy. But better than they were in earlier decades and were groundbreaking for the time. The storyline was interesting and the acting was fairly good. A little unrealistic at some parts, but a good movie.

The Batman (2022)

Great movie! But dark and realistically disturbing
9 April 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Obviously, Batman is known for being dark. The film was well directed and had awesome action with great acting. The movie was also very disturbing. I'd give it an R if I was part of the MPAA. The Riddler, who is the villain in this movie, makes himself known by recording disturbing videos on the dark web then publicly while hiding behind a leather mask. Just like how ISIS started. He even made traps like the infamous horror series SAW. Obviously the good guys won in the end, but it really makes you think. I would not recommend taking any little kids to see this. This movie gave me nightmares as a grown man.

Clever, entertaining and a moral lesson
4 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love science fiction and this movie did not disappoint. Most 50s Sci-Fi films were ultra cheesy. This film wasn't so cheesy and was more well done. Robby the Robot was an interesting concept of artificial intelligence, yeah, he was pretty awesome. The ending was a great moral lesson of not trying to be like God. The scientist on the forbidden planet was trying to play God.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (2011 Video Game)

One of my favorite video games of all time!
27 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This game was so cool back in 2011 when it was released on 11/11/11. The graphics were awesome and are now improved. The combat style is well developed. You can use a shield to bash, Have a staff and a shield, use two different one handed weapons etc. The storyline is interesting. You could play this over and over and never get bored. In the first 4 games, you choose a class. In this game, you play what you want without a strict class system. Also, any skill you increase increases your level. Not just "major skills, and Minor skills" like the previous four games. Some monsters are hard to defeat which you can face at low levels.

A tear jerking slapstick comedy romance drama
27 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was well written and well made. The humor is funny without being lewd, Charlie Chaplin really pulled this movie off. From scene to scene the choreography of the camera was well done. This movie also shows true humanity. A tramp who gave everything to help a blind woman get surgery for her eyes to see. She accepted the Tramp even though he wasn't rich.

Funny, Clever and lots of laughs in this hilarious parody movie
31 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film makes fun of other films than the original Star Wars trilogy. Star Trek, Alien and others, too. The quotes are very memorable like "We ain't found ****" or so many others to count. A comedic genius in the PG-13 level. Unlike some other Mell Brooks films. Mell Brooks starred in his own movie and did a good job acting and directing.

Kudos to this film!

So boring it's not even worth watching.
31 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I've heard this is a mediocre sequel and the other two suck. I gave it a try. It was so boring I quit while I was ahead. The shark still looks fake up close and was cheesy with a cliché explosion. And a stupid sex scene and talking about sex. Not recommended for anyone. Even Sharknado and its sequels are better than this!

An overrated not so great Sci-Fi film
6 August 2021
I love Sci-Fi, this film is stupid. The main character lacks on, the action isn't so great, and I've heard the sequels sucked. So, no go for this. It wasn't really R rated material from what I remember. Not ultra violent like Quintin Taliento but probably soft R. Still, not my cup of tea.

Stupid, corny but has an interesting concept
6 August 2021
This movie is terrible. Awful acting, it's so bad not even good. The only reason I give it a 5 star is generosity. This film is based of the controversy surrounding the very first Fantasy Role Playing Game Dungeons and Dragons. It was considered "Satanic" due to the ability to use magic and such. This film was more of a serious comedy than funny comedy. It definitely does show that people can blur the line between fantasy and reality.

Not bad, not good either. Has its pros and cons
6 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this film in theaters back in 2016 when I was an avid comic reader. I was pretty impressed with the action. The characters were interesting, but the Joker actor was awful. He looked like a pimp without a feathered hat, his face looked like Marilyn Manson, and had a stupid laugh. This movie did well for its PG-13 audience, but would do better with an R rated audience. The characters stories lacked a bit. Overall, an okay film.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (2006 Video Game)
8/10
Great game with a few flaws way ahead of its time.
6 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This game is awesome! The graphics are very good for a 15 year old game. The combat system is much better than Morrowind. The character customizations are very good as well. The open world is amazing! Elvin ruins, forts, caves and mines to fight creatures and people. Fight with your sword and shield or with your mage staff. One thing you'll notice is that at times NPCs (Non player characters) will randomly start attacking and killing each other. The guards and other people. A flaw in the game. They also may sound stupid to new players. The questlines are very, very good. This is a game to experience. The Shivering Isles expansion for this game takes it to a whole new level as well.

Far from being Fantastic as a movie. But fantastic storytelling and visual effects etc.
6 June 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I got this movie for my 21st birthday. I watched it and wasn't that impressed. The movie itself wasn't terrible. The visual effects and drawing animation if fascinating. The special effects and drawn out storyline was superb. The movie wasn't that entertaining and it was rather short. Definitely I'll watch it again. The concept of its moral message is what intrigued me. Fighting till the death for other's entertainment, being oppressed etc. History tells itself in this film. But it's not a top 10 best Sci-Fi of all time. It's better than B movie quality, but not top notch.

Tales from the Crypt (1989–1996)
8/10
Cheesy, funny, weird and creepy. With puns so bad, you'll "die" laughing!
9 May 2021
This is a great show. It is very well written. Some stories are better than others. Some even have moral lessons. Each season is different. The crypt keeper is funny and has puns fit for a dad as "dad jokes" or should I say "dead jokes?" This show is definitely NOT for kids! Despite the crypt keeper saying "boys and ghouls".

This show will make you laugh and cringe. This is such a mixed up show you never know what's next. The stories are generally entertaining. Some stories take place during the time when the comic series started out in the 1950s through more modern times. There's many plot twists and twists in general.

You won't be disappointed watching this show. I'd rather watch this than other adult comedy or HBO shows. For those of a sensitive type, this show is NOT satanic. Well worth a watch.

Spartacus (2010–2013)

Trashy, borderline pornographic, exaggerated violence, stupid.
25 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I don't understand how this show can say both the F word and C word like it's nothing when most MA shows can't even say the F word. The sex scenes are oral sex scenes and the blowjobs look way too realistic. The violence is stupid and in one scene a guy says "Lick my hole" Indicating a rim job. This is more like an historical fiction porno than historical fiction. I'd rather watch the mild PG-13 1960 Stanley Kubrick film over this rubbish 100x over!
