After watching so called blockbuster movies like Barbi and Oppenheimer which I was so disappointed In, except for Barbi as I had no expectations for this movie. It was so satisfying and refreshing to see a film like this. This film went back to the basics of being based on a good story, fine acting, a bit of drama, a bit of comedy and a conclusive satisfying ending. There was no over the top so called clever editing jumping from one time line to another, good clear performances by Kathy Bates and Maggie Smith, and although with an Irish accent were easy to understand as diction was clear and well delivered. Certainly the feel good movie of the year.

Another film where the director is " Hey look at me how clever I am" Starting the movie from the middle of the story , then going back to start and back to the middle, short scenes , continually cutting from one scene to another, as if you were watching the trailer. Cringeworthy sex scenes, I really don't want to see a naked man sitting in a chair talking to a naked woman. The film is set in the black and white era of the 30's and 40's so why did we need to alternate from black and white to color? A let down in so many areas and gets drawn out to a 3 hour yawn feast. Had I not gone with friends I would have walked out after 30 minutes. Only saving grace was some good acting performances which is the reason for the two stars. There are many excellent documentaries on Oppenheimer and would certainly recommend you watch one of them instead of this movie.

Not only the worse Australian movie, but probably the worse movie made by any country. Terrible acting, terrible story line and way way way over the top.

They tried to Milk this show for all it was worth. Yes season 1 & 2 were ok, but that should have been it. Watched season 5 episode 1 out of curiosity and I had no idea what was happening, just went head first with no recapping, a big mistake.

The most annoying main character I have ever seen in a series.

Even if this was a good movie I wouldn't know. Mumbling low talking dialogue from the main actors meant I had no idea what was going on. After 45 minutes I turned off.

I believe unless a movie is pure fantasy, a drama like this must have a reasonable plausible story line. This series certainly does not and makes it hard to give this series any credibility at all.

The first two episodes are probably the worse television I have ever seen, how can you ask people to preserver after watching this rubbish?

Brilliant acting, clever clear dialogue with no modern style mumbling or hushed talking and a great story. This is a must for all movie buffs.

How this very average " comedy " won any awards is beyond me.

Watched two episodes of season 2, and just couldn't take anymore. Hard to work out what was going on. Camera work enough to give you motion sickness, jumping every few minutes from from one time era to another. Could have been a good story, but ruined by director trying to be too clever.

Come across this when desperately looking for something decent to watch. I had never heard of it before but my wife and I enjoyed it immensely.

Soft whispering talking, annoying " music", over clever camera work, short scenes, jumping from one time to another. All contributes to ruining a possible good story.

It is worth watching this just for Russell Crow's performance, the story actually takes a back seat to his brilliant acting.

This proves my adage , that you should never watch a movie containing Nicholas Cage or Matthew McConaughy.

The makers of this movie did their very best to ruin an excellent story. If I was not with my wife I would have left at least half way through the movie. At one stage I. Really had no idea what was going on, with all the flashbacks and forward flashing.

Easily the funniest and best Christmas movie ever.

So many pauses in between sentences . It seemed like the movie was 4 hours long. Even Tom Hanks ( although excellent in this part) could not save this movie.

I found the documentary very interesting, but was put off that he could not a say sentence without using the word " like"

Brilliant and the real war criminals go free. Tony Blair, George Bush and John Howard.

Looked really good in the first two episodes and then went quickly downhill after that. Stopped watching after the 3rd episode. Only redeeming factor was the great acting of Sarah Snooks.

Absolutely fascinating, very much binge worthy. Something that now makes a lot of sense.

I have only ever seen one good movie that was longer than 2 1/2 hours (and that was Titanic) this movie certainly was not one of them
