The Swarm (2023)
Refreshing
I have not read the book and went in too the show with very low expectations ready for a USA/Military/Genius saves the day kind of show. So i am rating the show as a standalone medium, maybe it sucks compared to the book... i dont know. I do know i have been biased in other cases like WOT.
Too my surprise the protagonists was a team of scientists without superskills but an open mind ready too challange their peers in a extremely wierd situation. So glad they didnt battle the ecosystem in action scenes because that would have been pathetic.
Loved the acting, it was down to earth with realistic use of silence instead of craming in dialouge too the point of the absurd like in most hollywood productions. The cast was great and and the characters pretty realistic for this kind of genre.
The Winchesters (2022)
Unexpected
The first word that comes to mind is unexpected because the pilot was actualy really enjoyable, and this from.. i would say a pretty big fan that sleeps in a freakin SPN pyjamas :)
Sure there is stuff that differ from the original timeline but is that really critical? I just want more of the fantastic SPN universe and iam actually glad that TW doesent try to create a carbon copy because that could fail in a epic way. The characters is kind of likeable but only one episode in its hard too really form an opinion but i see possibilities
And too be honest some of the later SPN seasons was really really bad, i feel that TW has more in common with earlieer seasons.. at least the pilot but a lot can happen as it did with the original. I for one is going too continue to watch TW with open and hopefully unbiased eyes, because honestly even if this isnt perfect its a lot better compared too 90% of the sci-fi/fantasy series that has been released in the last years.
Ragdoll (2021)
Haledynamic
The whole thing is about avrage, then comes Lucy Hales amazing character. She is superwoke, annoying but funny and brings something new to the ordinary copdynamic. I really hope the intention was a woke stereotype and not att really misguided attempt att some wierd version of a strong woman.
Besides Lucy Hale the first 3 episodes is an avrage cop and super serialkiller show.
The dialog is also a bit strange and feels more adapted for a comicbook then TV.
Iam going to watch it all because of the Haledynamic och cool murders.
Dune (2021)
Just epic
I have read dune and rest of the books multiple times, ive seen the mini-series multiple times and i have tried to see Lynch abomination plenty of times.
This movie really make the Dune universe and Arrakis come alive in the best of ways. I have sen users complain about lack of comic relief and not enough information on the technology but that is a thing i love about Dune, its a space opera and not a generic sci-fi with lots of technobabble and jokes as a filler when the story is lacking. It has epic visuals in a dark unforgiving uniqe universe ripe with mysticism, whats not to love!
I really look forward to part 2, that part of the story is really awesome and kind of trippy for young Paul Atreides.
