Blade: Trinity (2004)
Don't pay to see this one...
This movie was not good compared to Blade 1 and 2. Blade 2 had a really good cast where this one was severely lacking. The only really entertaining actor was Ryan Reynolds who plays Hannibal King. He was extremely funny. At the end of the movie you find yourself asking, "uuhhh is that it?". The soundtrack was neither good nor bad. Dracula was weak and not even scary, this is supposed to be the King of Vampires?? I don't think so. Can you say rip-off of Predator? Decent special effects but nothing really new since Blade 2. Jessica Biel is extremely annoying. Stunts were too fantastical almost like current kung-fu titles. Too much time spent on advertising I-POD's! However bad this movie was Parker Posey is always nice to look at.
Oligarkh (2002)
I enjoyed it.
I thought this movie was rather good. I liked how it jumped back and forth in time. The characters should have been developed better. However, its nice to see something different that the usual garbage Hollywood puts out. Ill admit some of the movie is cheesy but if you can get past that its a movie worth watching. It does not stack up to the Godfather or other such movies as the reviews claim on the cover. But it does give you a taste of such movies. Me, I love crime dramas and though I wish there was more blood spilt in the movie I found it surprisingly good. The main character is the strong point in the movie. He has a character and face that makes you sit there and watch the whole movie. Overall it was enjoyable and entertaining.
AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004)
Excellent special effects, horrible acting.
Overall I think I rated this a 4. I mean who doesn't love Predator, just to watch Predator alone it was worth the money. Die hard Alien and Predator fans will find this a must see but don't expect it to outshine previous releases featuring these two monsters. When it came to the dialogue and humor, this movie fell very short. Lines from earlier Alien and Pedator movies are reused and didn't get even a chuckle out of most of the audience. Though Lance Henrikson stars in AVP, (played Bishop in Aliens) he doesn't bring very much to the screen. Most of his screen time is spent wheezing and coughing. The heroin was overbearing and lacked sex appeal. Ewen Bremmer (Spud from Trainspotting) could have been a lot more humorous. Should you see it? Yes.But I would wait for it on DVD.
