Amazon Big Problem
10 May 2024
This movie is far better than one would expect. The best aspect of the movie is the action sequences. You don't have to suspend your belief of 100 pound woman beating a 200 pound man in hand to hand combat. There are moments where it walks the fine line. The premise contrasting the jaded trigger warning to the, I can't believe I'm writing this part, innocence of the late 80s is stark. The most part the late 80s fashion was captured fairly well. If you understand the rules of time travel? You will figure the plot out rather quickly. There are plot holes galore. The pacing doesn't allow you to concentrate. Amazon big problem? They appear to master the art of the low budget to mid budget range movie. The actors that I recognized are Lochlyn Munro and Randall Park. The biggest failure. The movie resorted to a tired old trope for the climax. It will be interesting to see what Nahnatchka Khan next project.

I remember...
31 March 2024
It was the late 80's. I had finished a date with a 10. As many of man can tell you. A 10 is a special thing. I had convinced her to come to my room after our date. This time I had 26" Panasonic TV. Top of the line. Long story short. I convinced her to lie in the bed and watch A Soldier's Story with me. My point: The only movie that I let a piece slide by me. I watched this movie 6 or 8 times over my life. Depending on the stage in my life it hit different. I'm writing this as I approach my mid 60s while my first viewing was late 20s. The movie is more than a murder mystery. You can replace ni99er with ni99as the same argument continue. Howard Rollins, Denzel Washington, Adolph Caesar and Patti LaBelle give outstanding performances. I can go on and on. A movie that speaks to the problems of Black Americans? Here it is.

You could do worse
13 March 2024
The thumbnail I thought I was looking at Charles Bronson from his Heartbreak passage Western era. Deeper examination proved not be Bronson. What the heck? The usual plot: Girl kidnapped sold into prostitution. Will she be rescued before her honor is sullied? It had a couple interesting twist. The acting was tolerable. The finale took me for a loop. If DEI was a Western? All and all, you have a need for mindless entertainment, you could do worse? Think True Grit with human trafficking. I will credit the women are pleasant to look at, minor T&A, I found myself caring about the actors. The down side: The antagonist should have been more ruthless. It sounds odd. How twisted your mind? You can empathize with his plight. It hard out here being a pimp.😄😄😄

Columbo meets Black Box.
31 January 2024
I am a big fan of Natasha. There have been three actresses who ability to play crazy will have me tuned in, Annette Benning, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Natasha. I was hooked on the promo with Natasha. As I watched the co-stars, I was reeled in. Another reviewer wrote, I was hooked from the Columbo font used in the credits. It's not only the font. Natasha, has managed to update the Columbo close. She sounds like Peter Falk. Some of the stories are a homage to Columbo enough of a twist and originality to not be accused of stealing. What I find troubling? Every relationship is not interracial. It's okay to have one race relationship.😀 They go out of their way to make female antagonist off setting. It becomes a tale. If she is off setting? She is the antagonist. If you like Columbo? If you like Black Box? If you like stars from the past? You should like this. You could do worse.

I am a big fan of Natasha Lyonne since she was a teenager. This caught my attention as I'm watching the promo on Peacock. I'm watching the promo I see a stream of heavy hitters to mid level stars that I enjoy. Adrien Brody, Benjamin Bratt and Ellen Barkin to name 3. I read the premise. I got myself comfortable and was treated to the longest hour of television. I had this nightmare it was going to 11 episodes to this mystery. Why waste the talents of Adrian Brody. The finale to this episode almost made up for the boredom. As a fan of Natasha, I will stick it through. You can see the potential in the show. I would give a lower rating. Adrian and Benjamin are intriguing. Pick up the pace.😄

I love Tanya Roberts
17 December 2023
Why? I don't know. The debut of this movie. I seen it at least 3 times. There's little to say about this movie unless you are a fan of T/A. The women are gorgeous and a reminder of why the late 80's early 90's was a wonderful time for T/A movies. Gail Harris, Tanya Roberts, Becky LeBeau and Monique Parent are smoking. The plot don't think to hard. 😄😄 The finale for me is hilarious, it's unintentionally funny, better than expected. I would have loved if Gail and Tanya were given a long scene? If you are fan of T/A, movies you don't study the plot and you have time to kill in the late nights/early morning? This is the movie for you. I would be remiss if I didn't send a shout to Jay Richardson and Jan Michael Vincent. You can say what you want. When it comes to slimy perverts, few can play better. As for Jan? I see the Jan Michael Vincent of The Mechanic and wonder what happened?

As A Rule
23 October 2023
I tend to stay away from reviewing episodes. I must give credit where credit is due. The show is off to a great start. The first thing I love is the music soundtrack. As I'm watching, I had an ideal to create a playlist. I'm a child of the 70s, my teenage years in the 80s. The first thing that struck the music I listen too would be considered ancient by contemporary standards. The music still holds up. Example: La Grange, ZZ Top and Roundabout, Yes. I would have fought you tooth and nail songs of the 80s. The show does have it flaws. We already know the ending. We are along for journey. My pet peeve and it continues to grow since Atomic Blonde is a buck 20 woman whipping men 200 pounds. Mission Impossible manage to pull it off, to a lesser extent this episode does a fairly good job of maintaining your suspension of disbelief. Credit: I must give as an homage to Rebecca Ferguson fight move is used. The fight sequences are broken into 2 categories. 1: Hand to hand. 2: Gun fu. The gun fu is clearly John Wick arena. The hand to hand has the feel of Daredevil, season 1 Netflix, a good thing. Mel Gibson banishment from Hollywood appears to be lifted. He is no longer the action star of the 80s. When pressed, you believe he can handle himself. When he isn't on screen, you wonder what he is doing? On screen, you wish more screen time. The protagonists you care about their plight. The show has real-world affects. The main protagonist has a plot armor. All others? Let's say do not develop an attachment. Advice: If you love music? Start your Shazam and playlist immediately.

One weird better than expected movie
28 September 2023
Not hard-core, not soft core porn. I could not believe I cared about the characters in the movie. The fans of Scream understand that virgins are the only ones to survive horror movies. I would not classify as a horror movie. There are plenty of murders, nothing blood curdling or head turning. I did find myself getting caught up in the storyline of the lead actress, Betsy Rue. I felt empathy for her. Getting back to Scream, there are no virgins, except possibly the antagonist. It is interesting how he is dealt with in the final scene. The movie held my interest. I was caught up in the producer/director task to complete the porno and the obstacles he overcame. Think Blair Witch Project of the adult industry. Can you tolerate nudity and lazy sexual content? Give it a watch.

A fan
28 September 2023
To write I am a fan of Italian movies from the 70s is an understatement. The women are beautiful and the T&A is plentiful. This movie did not disappoint in these areas. What drew me was the runtime, a little over 70 minutes. The actress Vonette McGee. A fan since the 70s. A prison break turned into sex trafficking to a heist. It misses the mark. The movie meander from one set piece to another with no clear objective. The finale is laughable and predictable. The location is beautiful. I can't fault the cinematography. The movie does have it moments. It doesn't have focus. All in all, 70 minutes to spare, nothing else of interests? You could do worse.

Damn You Tubi.
19 September 2023
Sitting here minding my business when this movie appeared in my queue. I'm not a fan of Lorenzo Lamas, I hold no ill will towards him either. 9/10 I would have searched for another movie. A small voice said go to IMBd. I see Bam Bam Bigelow has role. Let's rock. Bam Bam plays his role better than expected. I'm invested despite the uneven writing and the laughable fight scenes, which is played to almost comedic staging. When you get to the final set piece you begin to question why you wasted your time on this movie? Do not misunderstand the T&A in the movie scatter throughout. You could do better if your interest? The end of the antagonist is the payoff. I guarantee you will not see it coming and you will feel pretty good. All the actors performed their roles. I was invested in the antagonist, the female victim/heroin portrayed her role remarkably well. I had this misfortune to meet a woman who been through a similar experience. Her portrayal hit a little harder. I would not search it out, should it pop up in your queue a nice little background noise.

Uneven.
15 September 2023
2:00am, can't sleep, looking for a movie to kill time. Mark Dacascos appears in the thumbnail for the movie. I recognized him from his performance in John Wick 3. Easy sell. I'm immediately drawn into the plot. The first thing you notice, if you are the slightest fan of the action genre? The clock has not been set. One of the review referred to as a knockoff of The Expendable. A fair assessment. I would add a mixture of The Gladiator. The action pieces are executed very well, exposition, action pieces etc. The clock has not been set. It becomes clear what the director substituted for the clock. I will not reveal any of the plot defects other than for an elite group dumb mistake to advanced the movie. The other drawback, paying half bit of attention and you are part of the red-pilled community it will tickle your fancy. This is an action movie for the set pieces alone worth viewing, at least one time at 2:00 in the morning.

Got To Love Tubi
25 August 2023
Finished watching another movie. No particular place to go, 2:00 in the morning. Let it run till I fall asleep. I should have changed plans once I realized Gary Busey was the star. It is one of his lessor known movies. Why? I glanced up and saw William Smith. Since I was a kid, every other movie or television show, William Smith had a role, large or small. Now, I'm invested. Is it one of the greatest action movies of all times? No. Is it a DVD or streaming you will automatically load or click? No. You are looking for that no complications straight to point, mindless action flick. This is the one. Then you add Yaphet Koto. You could do a lot worse. Gary Busey and William Smith are worth the peek.

What The Heck?
16 July 2023
Stripper Party, two of my favorite words in a movie. The usual plot, money is needed in 7 days or evicted. Think House Party III except funnier. My expectations were low, I just wanted to see some strippers a little T/A call it a day. I did not expect the movie to be as hilarious. I have no ideal who Big Daddy D is as a director, a larger budget, a better plot: all I'm saying. Miles Triplet played his role. The ladies are the definition of red beans and rice did not miss them. The person who did the casting? A big shout out. 80 minutes to kill, want some chuckles and watching natural eye candy? This is the movie. The movie almost made me want to move to the ATL.

Could have been better...
22 June 2023
Typical girl next door comes to Hollywood to be a star. I have a soft spot for these types of movie.

There is always something that set them apart from one another. You have the impression, a little tweak here and there, this movie could be so much better. The movie attempt to show the gritty, seamy and hedonistic side of the Hollywood falls short. The plot and pacing drags. The bright spot: I did find myself caring about the lead actress Misty Mundae/Erin Brown. To watch her progress as an actress from soft core to B movie is fascinating. I believe is the principle cause for the restraint in the movie. A bigger budget and the commitment to being more gritty; a much better picture. A Misty Mundae fan? You might find it interesting.

I can't explain it
13 April 2023
Whatever the reason(s) I have always been a fan of Natasha Lyonne, since I first watched her on the big screen: The Slums in Beverly Hills. There are few actresses that can play crazy at a different level: Annette Bening, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Natasha. I will not actively search out their movies, pop up on my radar, I will click. The case with this movie. A fan of Natasha? A must watch; she delivers. Mar'a Celedonio matches the same level of intensity. I'm not into chick buddy movies and women in prison(to the extent of T and A) flicks. I nevertheless found it interesting enough to hold my attention. You could do a lot worse. I do hope she gets that one role for an Oscar win.

It Could Be Worse...
2 April 2023
I don't know how I became a fan of the Death Race franchise? To date I have watched every Death Race. The attraction to this movie is the name Roger Corman, claim to fame; never made a movie that lost money. The common threads: hot women, over the top stunts and do not think any semblance of a logical plot. Consume! By far the worst of the Death Race movies. The bright spot: Manu Bennett, the best actor? Nope, he manages to keep you interested. The movie has a couple of moments of redemption; not enough to raise past a 3. Why did I give it a 5? Manu and the other actors did not phone it in. The acting range from mediocre to good. Like me you watched every Death Race movies? Pay your penance. I cannot stress, unless you watched the previous Death Race movies? Not worth the time.

Suffer the same problem
24 March 2023
A fan of the sci-fi genre recognize the inherent problem of time travel. To Peripheral credit it is framed in a different package, nevertheless you think to hard, the problem still exist. The actors with the exception of the lead actress are unfamiliar, their talent is evident and above average. The plot is compelling, as the intent to watch one episode turned into a binge. The drawback: The White men is evil is current theme, ironically are the most interesting characters. The disappointment: The one woman you believe is the antagonist is painted in a sympathetic light and brushed over by the final episode. A definite watch, surprised not better known.

The Mega Brothel (2015 TV Movie)
7/10
A fascinating subject.
26 February 2023
Germany will always hold a special place in my heart. The first 14 years serving in the military; 7 was spent in Germany. My first tour, the exchange rate was terrific for the US, if memory is correct $1.00 to 3.50DM was the high? You could take the train from Wiesbaden to Frankfurt, buy a schnitzel visit a brothel for $20.00. The title caught my attention. The documentary come to the age old question: can women sell their body for sex? The documentary tries to give a balanced perspective, lean towards non-legalizing prostitution. In the end: Women want to control men access to sex. Germany history with prostitution is fascinating. The effect of an over saturated market. The amount of money generated from women on their back. The realization of the key prostitute body count with only 4 years in the business: disturbing. The biggest takeaway for me: Women are not to be trusted as to use of their body.

Can't stick the landing.
7 December 2022
The plot is what drew me in, unfortunately it could not stick the landing. I like Melissa McCarthy, to see if she could handle a non-comedic role was my primary interest. I thought she performed her role very well. At no point throughout the movie did I lose interest. The plot twist or subversion of expectation was interesting but not surprising. Tiffany Haddish, I never been a fan, I also was impressed with her performance. It tries so hard to be a Guy Ritchie vein of movie, it falls short at key part. The movie is afraid to take chances, it wants to be violent, in the era of Deadpool and Daredevil sadly lacking. The baby of the bunch: Elisabeth Moss, performance was okay, as I had no expectations, nor like or dislike, bland would be the best description. Cannot stick the landing; the ending a little more effort please. All said and done? You could do a whole lot worse.

The plot summary
14 November 2022
A reason I can't comprehend the plot summary and title peaked my interests. As the movie intro ran, I wonder is this a T/A movie? The rating did not indicate as such. Always on the look out for a good T/A flick; did not disappoint in the opening minutes. The Italians never disappoint with beautiful women. This particular movie, it's movie genre, the acting is better than expected. I loved the set design, the actors are pleasing to the eye and you can be assured your expectations will not be subverted. Softcore at it finest. A subcategory is horror, I would change as many "horror" scene are unintentionally comical. Late evening, can't sleep and looking for a little T/A is why I rate a 7.

Probably one of the best...if not the best?
27 August 2022
It's 1:00AM, amped up from an evening that ended quicker than expected. Searching for an T/A flick; Midnight Tease II appeared in the queue. 15 minutes in all expectations met. Why so early? I was reminded of a poll; who have the best strip tease? Demi Moore: Striptease, Lisa Raye: Player's Club and Elizabeth Berkley: Show Girls were the nominees. A shame Kimberly Kelley was not in the running. She would be the clear winner. The movie is much better than expected and as other reviewers have noted; the ladies are beautiful. The most part, seem to capture the atmosphere of a strip club. Looking for T/A? Could do worse.

Aged surprisingly well
24 June 2022
I've not watched this movie, since it theater release. The comparison to Let's Do It Again was unfair. The bar scene with Little Seymour (Harold Nicholas) and Big Percy (George Reynolds), one of my favorite childhood movie experience. I decided to relive the experience. My maturity has increased the accolades for the casts, particularly Harry Belafonte, Paula Kelly, Richard Pryor and especially Roscoe Lee Brown. If like myself, you have not watched the movie in awhile? Give it a viewing, you maybe pleasantly surprised as to all performances.

Don't understand.
8 June 2022
I don't understand why this western is rated so low? Is it in the class of High Plain Drifters or Unforgiven? No. You could probably make the case for a Razzie Lifetime Achievement. You have the feeling some of the scenes left on the editor floor could have made this movie better? A fan of T/A in the right scenes, far more than needed. The fight scenes were nicely done. The score was creative. A definite Walmart $5.00 bin; a 3 rating? No. In the interest of full disclosure, a fan of James Caan, Stephanie Powers, Aldo Ray and Sammy Davis Jr (miscast). It's 2:00am can't sleep worth the 90 minutes. The strangest western ever.

15 minutes remaining
23 May 2022
15 minutes remaining before I realized it was Hugh Grant. I am waiting on the one Guy Ritchie movie that will cement his place as one of the greatest, if not best director of all time? As with all Ritchie's movie plot is complicated and laced with plot twists. If you liked Snatch? You will like this movie. Hugh Grant and Colin Ferrell standouts in this movie. Maybe Colin best performance since Minority Report.

Surprisingly decent.
22 May 2022
I nearly gave up on the show. Think of it as The Office in a prison setting. The series got better as it progressed, to the point you begin to care about the characters. I have a strange relationship with Catherine Tate: I don't consider her particularly talented; yet I'm always caught up in her performances. A must watch? No. You could do far worse, if a fan of British comedies? You will enjoy.
