The Traitors (2023)
Why would you use ALL celebrities?
It makes no sense. Regular people would be more fun to watch. Mix it up and do half/half at least.
The UK version is my favorite, followed by the Australian, because they used real people that we can relate to. The American version just feels like a drama.
I just want something that feels semi real and "celebrities" playing for even more money isn't it. Season one had it right and you ruined that by casting some real dudes. Dan and Sandra were good picks but we'll see as the season goes on.
I always hate how long these reviews have to be because it makes me feel I have to ramble even more than I just did but I just met my minimum word count so see ya.
Bake Squad (2021)
So fake.
Obviously Jamaica was going to pick Maya's right from the start. Hers was clearly the least impressive of all 4, but that didn't matter. Maya could have baked a single cookie and still won.
I can't get over how fake this show is. It has potential, but I don't buy anything they're selling. It's like all of Netflix's competition shows now. There's always going to be a selected winner.
I still have 200 characters to go to meet the required characters, so you can stop reading now. This part is just fluff to meet the required character limit. Almost there. Thirty seven left. Eighteen left. Five le.
Fast Foodies (2021)
Annoying
It's a big miss. The chefs are annoying. The celebrities are also annoying. Also, what's with the unnecessary addition of race baiting material? "All lives matter people are the only ones who like vanilla shakes." You need to do better. Stop using race to gain viewers. It only further divides us.
MasterChef Junior (2021)
Favoritism
Lots of issues with this show. 1. They play favoritism. Two kids could have the same issue, but one will get way more criticism. 2. They place a lot of pressure on these kids. I get that it's a show, but they're mostly 8-12 year olds. 3. A lot of the parents should be ashamed of themselves. You can tell some of these parents are forcing their kids to cook.
100 Humans (2020)
Was hopefully but science is lacking
I was hopefully, but this show definitely missed it.
The science was skewed and felt like they were just wanting to justify various agendas - the professor of gender studies and host that interviewed her solidified this in discussing men, and more specifically, white men.
On an episode about biases, they referred to one human as "side burn guy" instead of his number like they do for everyone else and then went on to talk about the prejudice of white people.
The hosts, "science" and agendas ruin this show.
VH1 Family Reunion: Love & Hip Hop Edition (2021)
Straight up smut
There's no redeeming quality to this show. Life would be so much better if we stop distracting ourselves with shows like these. Are we so dissatisfied with our own lives that we have to occupy our time with the sex and drama of people we don't know?
I Am Jazz (2015)
Typical
Typical show about a spoiled child who is enabled by their parents. The parents are definitely only interested in the payout. I hate how shows like this exist and encourage destructive behavior. We should be better because this world isn't getting any better by watching this show or enabling this behavior.
Home Sweet Home Alone (2021)
Learn from your mistakes
Did Home Alone 4 not teach you anything? Nostalgia =/= Reboot. We love the old and hate to see them ruined by greed. It's 2021 - be creative. Give current generations something to feel nostalgic about 20 years from now.
Saturday Night Live (1975)
So bad
Like, not even joking. The show has gone way down hill. Maybe if they would stop focusing on political issues, they could be funny again, but I guess that's impossible for them to do.
The Last Man on Earth (2015)
Year 2020: one year after the virus
Now I know why this show was cancelled. Such a shame because this was a fun show.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
Always chasing MJ
This movie isn't worth your time. It feels unoriginal.
The New York Times Presents: Framing Britney Spears (2021)
We care way too much about celebrities
This was basically Making a Murderer. I feel bad for Britney Spears, but not because this documentary told me to. The papparazzi and media ruined her life, now the media is trying to profit off her life once again.
