Kodiak (1974)
more than two
Actually, there were four programs shown: (Red Snow, White Death, aired September 13, 1974. (Guest star: Stefanie Powers); Death Chase, aired September 20, 1974. (Guest star: Kay Lenz); A Time To Die, aired September 27, 1974. (Guest star: Steve Forrest); and The Last Enemy, aired October 4, 1974. (Guest star: William Shatner); or so states Wikipedia. And according to Wikipedia it was its air time against Sanford and Son that was its demise...America's growing interest in Afro-American situation comedies I guess (hey...remember Amos and Andy. At any rate...given a better time slot and promo it may have made it, for actually Clint is not that bad an actor...its just hard to break a 6'6" mold (hey at least he was not Lurch or Jaws).
Sabrina (1995)
It is not the 1954 version
Perhaps because I grew up with the Bogart/Hepburn version Ford was a disappointment to me. The little tweaks, twists and other changes (electronics vs plastic, photography vs cooking school, etc etc) did not bother me. But the whole ploddingly dark when is this plot going to hit its stride just dragged on forever. By comparison the original screen play was a lark...the upbeat David (William Holden)played beautifully off of Hepburn and Bogart. You could see Bogart soften and begin to fall and the same for Hepburn...and in Hepburn the troubled teen (as that was what she was supposed to be in the film about18/19)coming into her own throughout the film. It was light, breezy and a pure joy to view....I can not say the same for Fords attempt....the only one who seemed to be enjoying themselves was Ormand!!
