Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)
Good fun, could've been a lot better
I'll tell it straight to the point since this is the first review of this movie on IMDB. I'm a big fan of the games - there's some fan service, some really weird scenes I did not expect, and it wasn't scary at all. Completely lacked any jumpscares which, bearing in mind the games are built on them was a bit of a disappointment. I liked the acting and the animatronics were absolutely incredible. Sets were great. Some nods to the silver eyes book and purple guy but no bite of '87. No Markiplier so don't get excited to see him, he's not in it.
I'd give it a solid 8/10 since I never thought it'd even see light of day and the atmosphere was spot on.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
BELIEVE THE HYPE!
Honestly, I often get turned off by films that are insanely hyped up, they normally completely fail to meet expectations. This film did not.
This is the most exhilarating, emotional, action-packed, visually stunning and hilarious superhero film I've ever seen. Spider-Man 2 used to be the pinnacle of Spider-Man films, but this matches it although with more grandeur than you could ever imagine.
This movie is an experience. Seriously, the whole cinema was clapping, cheering, crying together as one. This has awoken the child in me and I cried numerous times myself - I rarely cry at films. Was this fan service? Absolutely. But it was done perfectly.
This film is a masterpiece, it'll go down as the greatest marvel film of all time and I doubt it can be surpassed. The actors were perfect, their performances were phenomenal. I wasn't a great fan of Homecoming or Far from home, but Tom Holland was exceptional in this as was everyone else.
Go and see it, you won't be disappointed. Now, if you'll excuse me I am going to pre-order the 4K Blu-Ray so I can watch this again and again.
The Mandalorian (2019)
The best thing to come from Star Wars since 'The Empire Strikes Back'
Star Wars is BACK. This series has completely and utterly restored my hope in Star Wars, which was all but lost after the average prequel and god awful sequel trilogies.
Jon Favreau needs to lead Star Wars going forwards. This is mind-blowing stuff and it's fan service done right (unlike what they did in the Rise of Skywalker). Words can't describe this masterpiece. I can't wait for the book of Boba Fett.
No Time to Die (2021)
Best Bond yet
How anyone can score this with a 1 is beyond me. Even below a 5 is ridiculous - is it just to make a point? Sharknado is a 1. Cats is a 1. This is NOT a 1.
This film is incredibly well shot, directed and acted. The set pieces are exhilarating and the film is so well written many in cinema were a wreck by the end.
Watch it and ignore the naysayers who are afraid of strong females. This is the most Bond film we've had since casino royale.
Mimesis (2011)
Fantastic fun, great film
I'm a huge fan of zombie films and i loved the classic 'night of the living dead' so just had to check this out. Glad i did! Watch it, it's brilliantly made and very original. Spot on acting, great effects, fab storyline, can't go wrong! Gave me some scares too!! I heard the director did some other great horrors too, i'll be checking them out soon. Didn't get why this film has such negative reviews, nowadays people are harsh with films and just want every movie to be PERFECT. News flash; there's no such thing! They are here for entertainment, and i can say that this film provides just that. I'll be first in line for mimesis 2!
