Bravo! A beautiful, sublime and funny film
22 July 2022
An unbearably sweet (though not cloying) and tender film that had me laughing and crying all the way through!

Pitch-perfect in tone, absolutely beautifully written, with faultless performances. HIghly recommended.

Well worth the watch!

Enlightening, thought-provoking, disturbing and ultimately, a call to action, The Social Dilemma (and the group behind it), will, hopefully, prove to be a turning point in our interaction with technology... and technology's interaction with us.

I loved this so much that I never wanted to leave their world!

It took me a couple of episodes to get into this, but then I was hooked. I'm not a foodie - I can barely cook! - but the intoxicating combination of the food, music, colour and sheer emotion drew me right in and I never wanted to leave. Highly recommended.

A beautiful film which stays with you

The best way I can describe this film is that it entranced me, as the images kept coming back to haunt me for a long time after I left the cinema. It's not perfect (which film is?) but the imagery and underlying message of the romance in nature, as well as in human relationships, will - despite some occasional qualms about the dialogue - enchant you too.

A Dog Year (2009)

Two stars for Jeff Bridges, otherwise it would have been zero.

Warning: Spoilers
Nothing happens in this film. Literally. Man adopts a dog. He's estranged from his wife (we don't find out why). He's angry (we don't find out why). He rents a house in the country (we don't find out why). He finds a dog trainer who charges $200 a session to a) teach the dog NOT to herd sheep and then b) sit. He drives back home with the dog's head hanging out the window. The End.

So good that I watched it two days in a row!!
30 March 2014
I enjoyed this film so much, that I watched it (the first film I've EVER done this with!) *two days in a row* - the first time alone, and the second time, with a friend!!

'Authors Anonymous' is a funny, poignant and brutally honest look at life within a writers' group in California.

The dialogue is hilarious and there are several memorable performances, especially from Teri Polo, Dennis Farina, and, above all, Dylan Walsh, whose deadpan delivery stole the show.

The film is beautifully written, wryly observed and cleverly directed (documentary-style) - kudos to the writer, David Congalton, and director, Ellie Kanner.

Loved it!
