The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005)
Unbelievable....
How anyone could like this POS, I can't understand. Douglas Adams wrote great words and this is like a total...on his grave. I want my two hours of life back!!! It's starts from the point after the Vogon invasion. After such, why was the whole plot killed? And the stupid Vogons, who are such a small part of the books, becoming a greater part of the work. I think the movie should have remained faithful to the book. Firstly, it starts with words from the second book. And then doesn't explain why. Then the next parts, though somewhat faithful. aren't funny. Not one funny thing in the film. Not one joke, though I used to chuckle and laugh out loud at the book. I think the producers were just phoning this in, and the director didn't care cause they could work it out in post-production, the last refuge of a bad director. I don't wish for all of the cast and crew unhappiness, but please don't work in the industry. You are not very good. Please don't.
Rustlers' Rhapsody (1985)
VeryFunny and Great soundtrack.
I would consider this more than a homage, but a great filial attachment to the films my Grandfather watched as a child, but it's so much more. It takes me back to a nicer place. More than that, it reminds me how funny life is but how humorous heroes can be. How noble, how great, and how lovingly delicious it is to see such Titans play parody. Fernando Rey, Andy Griffith and especially Tom Berenger play the entire film Totally straight, totally in character, they all show great emotion and give we, the audience, great laughter. Especially Andy Griffith. I have the soundtrack, which is essential to any Country Music fan just for the Tex Ritter/Roy Rogers duet, but the music is so essential to the storyline. I wish this film had been more successful just so I could talk to more people about how funny it was.
Open Water (2003)
Wonderous
That someone would make a film without any clichés, any turgid scenes, and get to bare reality. Just a triumph and I am still shaking my head. I had heard that this was one film you loved or hated, and I am in the former. If you love someone, you are there for them. This exemplifies that somewhat feeble, but loving, theory. By leaps and bounds!! I watched this on DVD, and at the end, I hugged my wife. What simple lessons, what truths, it sends. This film touched me in ways I have never known. What is funny about this, from my perspective, is that two guys I told about renting this said, "That was the worst movie ever". Knowing their acumen, I was glad I watched. They actually thought I was watching "Open Range" and raved on it. It gave me a greater insight into me, and a better insight to them. (Read dumbasses Dennis and son)
Soul Plane (2004)
I wish for better from Lincoln Jeffries
I am glad I am not a film reviewer but a movie seer. Bad. I had to come back to my words to say what final awful this film was , from conception to afterbirth. And special words to Tom Arnold: Stop. Just leave the scene and and buy a cabin where we never have to see you again. You have no comedy talent, have no acting props, and are the worst excuse for existence on this earth. Just go away. Please, the world begs of you, go away. Soon.
Just watched this and if it had Aunt Jemima running through the cockpit, it could not had been worse. Not funny, Tom Arnold's 15 seconds of fame is over, and this was a total travesty of silver oxide used on plastic. Just awful. Let's begin the subjection: A person is injured and gets award from an airline for his injury. Spends said money on an airline just "Fo black folk". Little Rascals escapades. This movie made my stomach turn and retch. I hope none of the cast, crew or writers ever work again. It was anti-everyone and they all should stop their day jobs. Like breathing.
