Misanthrope (2023)
tough to watch...
... because of the lousy acting. I found it painfully over acted and the script quite unbelievable regarding police procedures. I was on a plane and had nothing better to do so I continued but had I been tuning in at home I'd have turned it off. Lammark was particularly over the top with his mannerisms & periodic abrubt angry shouting outbursts directed toward Eleanor. I was shocked to see how highly this film has been scored by folks. Clearly I'm too jaded (25 years working in policing) to buy into the actions of many of the characters. Woodley was the only one whose performance I found to be decent. I'd have enjoyed it more as a novel, I think.
Ted Lasso (2020)
I can't think of a single thing wrong with this series other than...
It's over.
I enjoyed every minute of it and the actors were each brilliant in bringing their character to life. This was just the kind of show our world needed, especially right now, and I truly wish it hadn't ended. Kudos to everyone involved. It did seem that the ending left the door cracked for a possible spin off (fingers crossed) but doubtful.
I rarely re-watch any shows because there is always a new one on the list but this one I revisited so I could enjoy it again with one of my besties.
If you're looking for another show to try look no further than "Shrinking" created by Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent). It's another beautifully written series that will hopefully stick around for more than 3 seasons.
Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
trippy
Melissa McCarthy is FABULOUS in this role. I've one episode to go and am very curious as to how things will resolve. It's definitely kept my attention and has been binge worthy.
Emergency Call (2020)
22 years doing this job
I find this is a very realistic depiction of what we deal with on the daily. I expected the show to be cheesy but its not. Great opportunity for the public to see what we contend with.
I Hate Suzie (2020)
what the hell is going on
I like Billie Piper, the premise of this sounded like it could make for an engaging show but.... the level of chaos and constant ridiculous life decisions and general madness is just too much to take. I find myself feeling terribly annoyed at every character. 3 episodes and that's it for me.
Wild Bill (2019)
shame it's not carrying on
Really enjoyed this show. I'm also a fan of British programs and Rob Lowe. I felt they were developing characters well and a running thread between episodes. I'm sorry there won't be a season 2
