Great movie, terrible actor
21 June 2022
Cooper Raiff is a great author and director but he should stop acting. What's all that grinning about? I can hardly look at him when he's talking. Aside from that a heartfelt funny movie.

"John Hughes goes Metal"
16 April 2022
This is the biggest surprise of the year. The dudes from Game of Thrones and the composer from Game of Thrones present a coming of age metal movie that is just rocking. Perfectly crafted, dialogue on point, great suprising comedy, emotional, real life characters and some f.... great metal. It's like John Hughes send us a heavy metal teen movie from heaven.

Actors are great, direction never misses the spot.

I just hope Netlix users find this gem and watch it.

Way better than the usual Netflix crap from the teen rom com assembly line.

Even one star is too much for this crap

What have they done here? Is this supposed to be a parody and they forgot to put in some real laughs? It's like a 100 million dollar Fan Film on Youtube. Sometimes it is as ridiculous as a Monty Python movie, sometimes just plain stupid. But never ever is this a Matrix movie. It is a movie that mocks Matrix, that makes fun of Matrix and neer takes itself or the Matrix lore seriously. This is a blockbuster that says: I hate blockbusters and sequels are bad. This is a sequel that hates the original and everything in it. Keanu sleepwalks through his ridiculous dialogue and in the action scenes he moves like Steven Seagal in his latest movies. Or is it real time bullet time? I don't know.

The movie is stupid and from start to finish I was just hoping it will end soon.

If you stay for the after credits it is even clearer: This one doesn't want to be Matrix 4. The movie is Lana Wachowskis and Keanu Reeves way to say: F....you Warner Bros. You wanted a sequel - we gave you one and made it as dumb as possible.

Not as bad as you'd think
16 September 2021
Despite all the changes to the original He-Man this is not as bad as the awful "Revelation". This is a complete new version of MOTU and even as someone who grew up with classic He-Man I can accept that.

It was fun to watch and I don't mind the changes they made to the story, but I don't like what they did to the look of the characters. If they would actually resemble the classic MOTU characters I would like this show a lot, but I don't like the new look at all. Only He-Man, Skeletor and Battle-Cut have resemblance to what we know and loved.

Maybe todays kids like this - I don't know. We'll see how much toys they sell with this.

But unlike "Revelation" this is less of an insult to old fans, because it is willingly directed to a new audience.

That being said: Fun watchable kids show, with hardly any resemblance to the classic He-Man characters.

Unfortunately the title song is weak and not very catchy.

By the power of....Wtf. Where is He-Man?
23 July 2021
I can't say it in words how much I hate this show. He-Man was my Hero when I was a little boy and all I hoped for was a classic He-Man show with modern animation. But they give me a Teela and friends show.

I like fighting and strong women in shows and movies - no problem. But Masters of the Universe isn't about sexy women fighting bad guys. Masters of the Universe ist about a tall, white muscular blond guy who beats up the bad guys and the only thing women want is to touch his big muscles :) That's what is was about - but why can't white guys with blond hair not be the hero anymore.

They even have to make up a new black female character so the diversity rate is matched. That is the only reason for the Andra character. There is no reason for her to be there otherwise.

I get it, Kevin Smith didn't want to do a He-Man show. In episode 3 Teela und Evil-Lyn even make fun of the old He-Man character. They joke about it. Ha Ha, that stupid blond baby He-Man. How dare they make fun of my hero?

This is the first Masters of the Universe show for ages and fans like me have waited for it. But it seems, we have to wait longer - because this is something else.

But i fear, Netflix will turn a movie and another show also into something, i probably hate with all my heart.

By the Power of Grayskull - can anybody save my childhood memories?

Godzilla vs. Good Filmmaking
2 April 2021
It is incredible what they can do with special effects today and how great this looks sometimes. Unfortunately they don't use it to make a good movie. The action is just like a video game and all characters are as hollow as everything in this film.

It is not even fun. At least for an adult. This is just for nerdy playstation addicted teenagers.

Too long
31 January 2021
It looks like a cheap TV movie. The directing is uninspired. Also it is at least 30 minutes too long. Cut this down to 90 minutes and it would be a lot better. It also needs more humor.

Missed chance
25 December 2020
The movie makes almost nothing of its 80ties setting. Some jokes about the clothes and that's about it. I think I hears only one 80ties song, the Hans Zimmer Soundtrack also makes no use of 80ties style. Unlike "Stranger things" or other 80ties style shows it doesn't care about the setting. Could be anytime else. Besides that we get an overlong film with boring villains (feels like a Catwoman movie sometimes) and almost no memorable dialogue. There isn't even a lot of fun in this one. The editing and flow of the movie is incredibly bad and tries to use slow motion and close ups to cover the badly filmed action sequences with almost no real stunts (all green screen). Tom Cruise would lough his as off. Inconsistent, a lot of plot holes, bad effects, no real 80ties feeling (clothes and old tv's only just don't do the trick) - only Gal Gadot on the plus side.

Perfect - for a TV Show
20 May 2019
Ok. Haters gonna hate. All of those who dislike what they got are now flooding imdb with bad reviews. Alright. I'm not gonna try to make you like what you don't like. Sure this isn't perfect. What it really is: Season 8 is 380 or so minute long fantastic trailer for a 10 season show with 10 episodes each. We don't get the full 10 seasons, so we have to stick with the "trailer". So certainly it lacks information. We have time jumps. We have missing pieces. But the important elements are all there and even with all the missing parts it still works. There was no other way the tv show could have ended. This is just it and it is possibly what George R.R. Martin had in mind when he told Benioff and Weiss what he planned for the major characters. The people who are now disappointed are mostly to focused on the book series. This is a tv show, not a book and it can never be as complex. It is a very good final episode - and it was a very good season. If you don't like it you will have to wait for George to finally finish his books. If that ever happens.

Mad Queen - So what?
13 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Ok. I get it. You all wanted the mother of dragons to be the rightful und good and merciful ruler of the seven kingdoms with Jon Snow to be her loyal husband and with Jaime and Brienne as their best men and maid of honor. Yeah. I get it. That's what YOU wanted. But that is not what George R.R. Martin wanted. Yep. The pacing is rushed and the change from sometimes cruel to really cruel (the signs were always there) is too fast. But are you actually surprised? I am not. And everything else is logical and true to character as well. Just a bit rushed. Yes. I wanted 10 seasons. We just got less. But it is all here as it was always supposed to be. War is never a good thing. Innocents are being killed. And kings and queens with a lot of power, are never just good and merciful. Rulers become bad. GoT is therefore also just a portrayal of our world.

Remember the dark knight? You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain. The night is darkest before the dawn.

Open up your mind
8 May 2019
Damn. All the bad reviews have just one thing in common: The show und the characters and their fate are not what people thought, hoped or rooted for. So they are disappointed. The episode ain't worse than anything before nor is it perfect. It is Game of Thrones. Classic Style. But I have to admit, that the time jumps and beaming around is really stupid. I don't like that. The editing is sometimes really bad. The pacing is too fast. That was also the case with season 7. But that doesn't make the show bad. It is just like 3 episodes are missing. To the haters: Stop hoping for YOUR story to emerge. Watch the story that emerges on screen. Watch it early in the morning (5 or 6am) and not at night. The atmosphere ist just right then.
