- DirectorJason EisenerStarsRutger HauerPasha EbrahimiRobb WellsA homeless vigilante blows away crooked cops, pedophile Santas, and other scumbags with his trusty pump-action shotgun.Ok, I'm only giving it a larger than normal rating cause some of the killings were awesome. Glorified and nonsense and the characters were so over the top, but saying that it matched the fast pace of the film. I see the storyline, it ended well and was a good watch at the time but wouldn't recommend!
- DirectorBJ McDonnellStarsDanielle HarrisKane HodderZach GalliganA search and recovery team heads into the haunted swamp to pick up the pieces, and Marybeth learns the secret to ending the voodoo curse that has left Victor Crowley haunting and terrorizing Honey Island Swamp for decades.Starts of where it ends just like the original Halloween franchise and the starring Harris, the same actress. Rocking start with the music, very good choice of genre and song. Good addition of police and the young oriental swamp guy makes another appearance, I like that. There were a lot more jokes in this, the script was better and must mention his moaning, it was so bad it worked well. I thought as the films continued they got better, this was definitely my favourite of the 3. He does like his sander as a choice of weapons, very bloody. Love it!
- DirectorMartin CampbellStarsRyan ReynoldsBlake LivelyPeter SarsgaardReckless test pilot Hal Jordan is granted an alien ring that bestows him with otherworldly powers that inducts him into an intergalactic police force, the Green Lantern Corps.Thought I was watching Top Gun at the beginning, there are too many movies starting like this with no essence. Some scenes felt unnatural and played on too much. For a great cast it didn't really take off at all.
- DirectorCarles TorrensStarsKai LennoxGia MantegnaMichael O'KeefeA team of parapsychologists try to figure out a strange phenomenon occurring in an apartment building. It could get the passing grade but I've just too many horror films in that section. The fact that they debunked it being a haunting and instead concentrated on the psychic phenomena of a traumatized family made a good watch on the science side. An interesting watch but the very last clip did spoil it (as it has done to others), way too Hollywood!
- DirectorFrank CoraciStarsKevin JamesRosario DawsonLeslie BibbA group of zoo animals decide to break their code of silence in order to help their lovable zookeeper find love, without opting to leave his current job for something more illustrious.Basically a live version of the many animations of recent and a Doctor Doolittle wanna be reversed with the animals helping their keeper instead. There were some ridiculous moments when I didn't know whether to laugh or sigh, that's it really!
- DirectorJonathan FrakesStarsJesse BradfordFrench StewartPaula GarcésA teenager accidentally activates a machine that enables him to speed up his body so that other people seem to be standing still. It was okay for what it was, I only watched it cause Jonathan (Star Trek TNG) Frakes directed.
- DirectorRuben FleischerStarsJesse EisenbergEmma StoneWoody HarrelsonA shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting bruiser in search of the last Twinkie and a pair of sisters striving to get to an amusement park join forces in a trek across a zombie-filled America.Fed up of Zombie films cause very few, in my opinion, are good. This, i thought boring.
- DirectorAdam GreenStarsKane HodderJoel David MooreDeon RichmondWhen a group of tourists in a New Orleans haunted swamp tour find themselves stranded in the wilderness, their evening of fun and spooks turns into a horrific nightmare.Hodder, Englund and Todd, with Manson doing the music, that had me. 1st kill scene very gory, that's always good. Angel's McNab doing a topless! Took a while for anything to happen, then he kept popping up out of nowhere, pure jokes. Good back story but nothing much else. Funny ending.
- DirectorJohn Carl BuechlerStarsTerry KiserJennifer BankoJohn OtrinJason Voorhees is accidentally freed from his watery prison by a telekinetic teenager. Now, only she can stop him.Nice opening credits. Hodder played this role so much better than the previous, the mask fits better unless it's the make-up department. Some of the incidental music was very psycho-esq. This film was Carrie Vs Jason. Mask-off face revealer was the best so far and well done on the make-up creativity of that era. Ended like the 'Potter/Azkaban.
- DirectorE. Max FryeStarsNicolas CageSamuel L. JacksonMichael LernerA Pulitzer prize writer buys a cabin. The neighbors get suspicious when a stranger "breaks in". They see a black man and call the police, who start shooting at him. The sheriff tries a cover-up involving a white petty crook. Bad idea.It was a fun watch with lots of crazy stuff happening. Typical comedy of that time.
- DirectorJoe WrightStarsSaoirse RonanCate BlanchettEric BanaA sixteen-year-old girl who was raised by her father to be the perfect assassin is dispatched on a mission across Europe, tracked by a ruthless intelligence agent and her operatives.Good lil actress but the English girl stole it, she was so typical. They did well showing their relationship growing while Hanna herself was growing. Loved the live Moroccan music, nice change luring the viewer in. Her fighting skills didn't convince me and I thought her escaping too easy, also her genetic enhancements didn't really show a lot. Not a very exciting watch for what it was.
- DirectorKevin ConnorStarsMaria ThayerSam PageRandy J. GoodwinThis year, Santa's daughter (Maria Thayer) takes her first trip away from the North Pole during the Christmas season hoping to find adventure and love in sunny California. While Santa watches his daughter through a magic snow globe, Annie arrives in L.A. and becomes friends with the owner of Candy Cane Inn, Lucy (Vivica A. Fox), and her daughter, Mia (Nay Nay Kirby). She also quickly lands a job at Wonderland Toys. Wonderland Toys' owner, Ted (Sam Page) is struggling to stay in business selling old-fashioned toys in a digital world. Annie soon realizes that she wants Ted's business to thrive because she has feelings for this Christmas traditionalist. Not my thing but was in the Christmas mood and had it in the background. Just what you would expect, sweet story nothing violent. It's nice to watch something like this every once in a while.
- DirectorAdam GreenStarsDanielle HarrisKane HodderTony ToddMarybeth escapes the clutches of the bayou-butcher Victor Crowley and returns to the swamp with an army of hunters and gunmen, determined to end Crowley's reign of horror once and for all.As the 1st, good back story and well told by Todd. Yes, there meeting at nightfall instead of morning time when all is bright - lol. Fun sex scene leading to the infamous tree splatter which makes another performance. Now, how is he gonna get back from that? Enjoyable if not predictable.
- DirectorSteven SoderberghStarsMatt DamonKate WinsletJude LawHealthcare professionals, government officials and everyday people find themselves in the midst of a pandemic as the CDC works to find a cure.Straight tot the point which was very appreciated. When the plot thickened with the Japanese interest was kinda lost but the star studded deaths were cool. First American movie I remember seeing them have their shoes off while on the bed. The music did help the pace but he film itself wasn't exciting enough for what it was. Then it ended suddenly, I thought half the film was missing but no, it just ended. It lost points for that. Interesting that my niece, who is a medical student, really enjoyed it for the science bit.
- DirectorDominic SenaStarsNicolas CageRon PerlmanClaire Foy14th-century knights transport a suspected witch to a monastery, where monks deduce that her powers could be the source of the Black Plague.Boring and uninteresting until the very end when the truth comes out.
- DirectorGore VerbinskiStarsJohnny DeppArmie HammerWilliam FichtnerNative American warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice.Nice to see my favourite actor and actress in the same film that wasn't directed by Tim Burton. As stated Depp is my favourite actor but why on earth was he cast to play a native Indian role? Saying that there was a beautiful Jack Sparrow piece. There were some great moments in the film like whether or not the things that the horse licked off their face was CG'd or not, that was awesome, but all in all not very interesting but watch-able.
- DirectorSteven QualeStarsNicholas D'AgostoEmma BellArlen EscarpetaDeath returns to claim the lucky survivors of a deadly bridge collapse in this fifth frightening installment in the series. The beginning credit music was very epic which doesn't suit this kind of film. Inventive deaths, a reprise of a character and a gymnast with bad luck. This one used a lot of misdirection and it droned on at places and some of the characters were corny. This film had no energy therefore didn't feel like a 'Destination' film. Saying that the ending was supremely great and the 'jump to a death' at the end was a nice touch.
- DirectorRian JohnsonStarsRachel WeiszAdrien BrodyMark RuffaloThe Brothers Bloom are the best con men in the world, swindling millionaires with complex scenarios of lust and intrigue. Now they've decided to take on one last job - showing a beautiful and eccentric heiress the time of her life with a romantic adventure that takes them around the world. It was okay. A sweet film but didn't really interest me.
- DirectorRob ZombieStarsSheri Moon ZombieMeg FosterBruce DavisonRadio DJ Heidi is sent a box containing a record--a "gift from the Lords". The sounds within the grooves trigger flashbacks of her town's violent past. Is Heidi going mad, or are the Lords back to take revenge on Salem, Massachusetts?Big fan of Zombie's work but this one went way over my head. I can't remember it now but just remembered being bored and not at least laughing at a character or a scene. There wasn't a lot that stood out, but saying that I would watch it again for a refresher.
- DirectorRingo LamStarsJean-Claude Van DammeMichael RookerCatherine DentScientists create a genetic clone of a serial killer in order to help catch the killer, teaming up with two cops.I liked both Van Dames character and Rooker was great as usual. I was a watch-able film but nothing out of this world.
- DirectorJames WongStarsMary Elizabeth WinsteadRyan MerrimanKris LemcheWendy Christensen and a group of teens who escaped a fatal roller-coaster crash face a bloody date with Death.Same old yarn, different characters and new and inventive ways to kill!
- DirectorTim HillStarsRussell BrandJames MarsdenElizabeth PerkinsE.B., the Easter Bunny's teenage son, heads to Hollywood, determined to become a drummer in a rock 'n' roll band. In LA, he's taken in by Fred after the out-of-work slacker hits E.B. with his car.Not my kind of movie, only watched cause he wanted to be a rock drummer, my thing! The Pink Beret's made a good side story. Didn't like the choice of incidental pop music but I guess it's a kids movie so they wouldn't mind. Quite a boring film, nothing to shout about.
- DirectorSteve PinkStarsJohn CusackRob CorddryCraig RobinsonA malfunctioning time machine at a ski resort takes a man back to 1986 with his two friends and nephew, where they must relive a fateful night and not change anything to make sure the nephew is born. For some reason I was looking forward to this film. I just thought the mix of comedy and time travel different. But no, it wasn't very funny to me. Nothing to talk about, just about watch-able.
- DirectorGuy RitchieStarsGerard ButlerTom WilkinsonIdris ElbaWhen a Russian mobster orchestrates a crooked land deal, millions of dollars are up for grabs, drawing in the entire London underworld into a feeding frenzy at a time when the old criminal regime is losing turf to a wealthy foreign mob.Ain't seen a British cast like this, all cockney, I loved it and it matched with an American cast also - Ritchie's good at that. The introduction of the 'stolen painting' was, I felt, awkward, it didn't seem to fit in at that point. The gay aspect was cleverly written but the film wasn't cleanly put together or had the charm of his previous films, the monologues seemed too played out. I did like his rocking soundtrack though.
- DirectorRobert Ben GarantStarsThomas LennonRobert Ben GarantKerri KenneyA rag-tag team of Reno cops are called in to save the day after a terrorist attack disrupts a national police convention in Miami Beach during spring break. Based on the Comedy Central series.Nonsense but sometimes you do get jokes and there were some proper lol's in this. Props to the black woman for wearing that swimming costume, very brave.
