Everyone's a Critic (2018)
Cheeky look at a writer's struggles
Writers and non-writers alike will relate to the self-doubt and fear lurking within, which artfully plays out in Everyone's A Critic. The director gives the audience a powerful inner voice, the writer's visceral response and the emotional roller coaster that ensues. A twisty ride through the highs and lows of an emerging writer who doesn't yet do it for a living.
Cole & Colette (2018)
Scary Fun
Cole & Collette grounds us immediately with a young woman's fear that she has a home invader, only to find the situation is worse than she thought. Sharp acting and direction, would raise any viewer's curiosity about a feature-length version.
Haunts (2020)
Clever and Scary
Haunts delivers on the fear factor with great acting and a less-than-typical situation. The simple visuals are effective in grounding us with the young woman who appears to be trapped after a trauma. A fun genre piece with some intrigue at the end.
Cravings (2020)
An intense psych drama
Cravings has a riveting intensity to it with a psychiatrist and her patient engaged in a tense exchange. There's a surprise in it that the audience won't see coming. A fun ride for horror fans and drama fans alike.
Rise: The Artist Within (2020)
Inspiring
These kinds of documentaries are challenging to do well since they can easily be dismissed as sad, hard luck stories. But Tommy's story of overcoming tragedy, thriving, living to the fullest and helping people, even with his limitations, is nothing short of a feel-good energy surge. You'll be ready to take on the world after watching this.
Afterlifetime (2021)
Quirky, Funny Take
Afterlifetime manages to lighten what can often be a serious and daunting question. We immediately want to know what happens to the UN intern, who thinks she has an Uber coming, and Death, who has a certain charm about him. Top notch direction and cinematography, a great tease for a funny feature.
P-Town (2021)
Power Packed with Emotion
P-Town is a powerful, emotional story somewhat 'Trojan Horsed' in a back alley encounter. A timely redemption tale, very well written, shot and acted.
