Moonfall (2022)
Very Poor!
Very Poor! -
Screenplay
Script
Concept OK - that is why I recorded it
Acting Poor - I guess it was a $Paycheck$ movie.
Directing Poor!
Considering the Cast, and Director I expected MUCH MORE! Even taking out the Cast and Director - POOR!
The overall concept of the movie appeared intriguing. But the Screenplay adaptation was pathetic! Along with the Direction. Most of the Acting was appeared to be a "$Paycheck$", but considering it was a Chinese oriented movie, maybe it generated revenue in Asia.
A poor copycat of other similar movies! Was this suppose to be a Sci-Fi Movie? Or a "clone/clown" movie - hard to tell.
Overall - a BAD movie!
The Last Duel (2021)
Needs another Edit and re-Cast Ben Affect!
The story is worth telling., however the screenplay and how it develops is poor! Needs someone to re-edit it, and do not cast Ben Affleck in it! His character and acting are horrendous! Almost anyone other than Ben A.!
Most (but not all) of the characters are OK, a few should have been left on the edit floor!
Miss Sloane (2016)
Very clever and well executed film
The dialogue could had been written by Aaron Sorkin. It is very similar to an Aaron Sorkin film, and many of the Actors have appeared in Aaron Sorkin films/shows. And - a similarity is with the narration in this film by Jessica Chastain's character - much like in Mollys Game.
If you like Aaron Sorkin dialogue and films, you will also like Miss Sloane.
Very well written, many actors give a good performance, well executed and cleverly constructed - with a complex twist at the end.
And - the very final scene is very intriguing - what is Jessica Chastain's characters last look supposed to show???
United States (1980)
EXCELLENT SHOW!
One of the best of a generation! Larry Gelbart wrote the episodes (MASH fame). What killed it was Jimmy Carter!
It was an smart/excellent show that was not doing well in the ratings (just like MASH), however, it was being promoted by NBC, was on the cover of TV Guide its final week - so what happened? Jimmy Carter did a TV National speech on the IRAN hostage situation, and it was at 6:00 p.m. PST/9:00 EST - the SAME TIME that it was scheduled to be broadcasted EST - But - It wasn't broadcast due to the Presidents speech. And - because the Presidents speech interrupted the East Coast time, NBC decided NOT to broadcast the West coast episode. And - 2 days later the shop was cancelled. And the viewing public was left with Threes Company and such ...
