Aquaman (2018)
An Ocean of Awesome.
Aquaman..... Spoiler free review.
So. I'm going to gush over this movie... Pun intended.
Where to start. Oh I know James wan is a directing and producing genius and the only man who could pull off the perfect aquaman movie.
The cinematography for this movie is something I never expected. But had me in awe all the way through. With movement and camera pans and angles that my mouth open saying wow all the way through.
A multi genre storyline that crosses from fantasy. Sci fi. Comedy action and suspenseful horror. Everything I was not expecting and surprised by.
The story is a mix match of every Aquaman comics origins managed to make every single one connect and work coherently.
The cast is perfect. Not a single actor is out of place and feels perfect for the role. I especially liked Patrick Wilson as Ocean master who gave it his all along side Jason mamoa.
Special fx and CGI. So I'm always a stickler for CGI in movies but this time I can't say this. The put down in this movie is due to props . But only in the costume department. Where some of the costumes look like outcasts from late 90s power rangers although very aesthetically correct to the comic books. Some costumes look a little cheap and look slightly cosplayish.
Music. Wow that music...... I SAID WOW.... THAT MUSIC. A great mix of genres once again that work within the circumstances of the scene TThey are put in to. With a mix of orchestral synthwave rock rap. This films score works on every level.
To sum up this movie had me smiling all the way through. It is DCs best movie. Better than wonderwoman (And I love wonderwoman) Better than batman the dark Knight. Better than watchmen. Yes..Better than one of my favourite adaptations ever.....
GO SEE THIS FILM 9/10
Justice League (2017)
Justice league. It's the start of something.
Justice league review. Basically DCs Age of ultron. SPOILER FREE
So before I begin the review I will admit I am a DC collector. But I will not let this create an unbiased review.
So we begin. This movie is Warner Brothers DC fourth installment.
With a very rounded cast this movie throws many punches and very rarely misses the mark.
Cast and Characters.
Once again Ben Afleck is the ever Gothic dark Knight himself Batman. Bringing the bruding dark and gritty character to life. Once again Ben Afleck shows why he is the perfect batman.
Gal Gabot. The ever beautiful and fierce wonder woman the God killer is back and ready to do battle. And she is on amazing form once again showing her strong and bringing new light to a character that deserves limelight in the DC universe. Gal Gabot is utterly amazing.
Ezra Miller. Sadly Ezra is certainly a weaker leak in the Justice league movie. Portraying Barry Allen aka the flash as a timid and shy character who has social problems. And sadly this is certainly not a good portrayal of the character from the comics of a character who has always been seen as chatty and charismatic.
Ray Fisher. His first ever appearance as cyborg. Sadly he does not receive enough screen time despite being one of the more intriguing characters out of the DC universe. But Ray Fisher plays cyborg as close as possible to the comic.
Jason Mamoa. Finally we come to the Aquamans first trip to the silver screen. And how brilliant it is. Bringing a new gritty brilliance with an early 2000s feel to Aquamans character. Mamoa certainly plays Aquaman as very boystress and playful and makes me want to see far more of him in the future in DC films.
Henry Cavil. Once again he plays the brilliant boy scout Cark Kent - Superman. I don't have very much to say on his character as he is just superman all over. Again a very good performance.
Story
The movie follows one or more of the many stories in the DC comics universe but sadly has me asking a lot of questions to why they added certain elements or why there are so many plot holes in this movie. Although not a perfect story with obvious re-writes it still makes for a very entertaining story line with plenty of fun elements throughout creating some amazing character interaction moments and bringing a certainly lighter atmosphere to the DC universe which has very much been needed.
Soundtrack.
Wow. Just wow. This soundtrack is brilliant in so many ways. Throughout this movie I was actually giddy. I can't say anything without spoiling it. But I certainly Sat with a smile on my face as a score would roar up.
Special effects and CGI
OK so this was one of the more disappointing moments for the movie. The CGI certainly isn't bad by any means. But it was used far more than required and the movie sadly suffers from it. It feels unnecessary for certain elements of the movie such as the batmobile and other parts of the film.
All in all DCs Justice League is a very fun and enjoyable film with some flaws which if were fixed could have made this film brilliant. I also highly recommend staying right to the end of the movie for the post credits. One being a major nod back to a very famous DC comic and the other being mind blowingly awesome to an DC fan boys out there
My final score for Justice League is a 7/10
Logan (2017)
Logan. The wolverine movie we deserved.
There are many things I can say about wolverine films and their dwindling ratings across the xmen franchise (lets forget origins).
But there is nothing more I can say about this film than truly epic and grand.
From the get go this film takes the best elements from the logan comic book and creates a perfect rendition of logan as a character.
Note that from the get go you get the R rated experience that we always dreamed of from a wolverine picture. With blood violence and excessive amounts of swearing. Everything a true logan fan needs The cinematography for this film is some of the most beautiful and creative from any of the xmen franchise with some pieces that show the elegance of the camera. Scenes of fast paced action are caught with an keen eye along with the art of slow motion in other scenes.
The story although not capturing everything from the logan graphic novel does its very best to recreate vital scenes from said graphic novel. The writers have taken great care to bring characters beloved by all and re-create their personalities on the big screen with amazing accuracy. Although this movies story stands very well on its own feet even without taking every element from the graphic novel.
The thing makes this movie, are the performances from all of the actors. The most noticeable performance in my personal opinion was from rising star actress Dafne Keen Patrick Stewart and Hugh jackman with some amazing heart felt emotional performances which left myself tearing up on several occasions. I would never recommend any actors from a single film for an Oscar more highly than Hugh jackman and Dafne Keen.
Last year I wrote a slight review for deadpool rating it my 2nd best hero franchise film of all time at a 9/10 and thought it would be hard to top.
Read these words and know that (I Damian hockey) rate Logan as my 2nd highest rated super hero film of all time. And will be coming back to watch again in the cinema in a few days.
9/10
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale (2015)
All sorts of boring
I have just wasted One hour and Twenty five minutes of my life to this snore fest of a movie.
The most interesting parts of this film happens ten minutes in the second most interesting thing is the credits.
SPOILERS IF YOU Don't INTENT TO WATCH THIS FILM HERE IT IS IN A PARAGRAPH A baby gets kidnapped and killed by a witch in a pretty gruesome way and the super religious parents blame a child for being for being a witch.
All their children die she becomes a witch credits end, Don't waste your time. It is neither scary nor interesting.
Into the Woods (2014)
In to the brambles
I watched this film upon the request of a friend I am fond of musicals all together, One of my favorites being wicked. so i am no stranger when it comes to fantasy musicals. but this certainly did not entertain me in the way i expected The cast are all brilliant and can hold a tune. But the backdrop music is very repetitive unlike other musicals.
I was not sure if this story was meant to be a mellow drama or a comedy as is suggested in the trailers I also want to point out that this film if aimed a children is fairly dark for a Disney film and is very drawn out and children would become to tire of it after hour and a half Its certainly not a bad film but is a very acquired taste
Constantine (2014)
Constantine from Comic to screen
So im going to start by saying that i am a big fan of the hellblazer and constantine new 52 comics but that will not impend to much on this review Constantine starts with its first 3 episodes being a little drawn out whilst it develops the characters throughout the series. BUT after the 3 episodes it really comes in to its own. Creating dynamic story lines and also using story lines directly from the hellblazer comic books What makes this series so good is that the source material is strong mixed with a cast and crew that really care for the characters and the on screen portrait of those characters So what could be added to the series to make it better. Not much. Maybe some darker story lines but we shall see more of that in due time
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
A grand film
The Grand Budapest Hotel comes out this week on blu ray.. At first I saw the trailer and thought that this looks like fun, Was I wrong. NOPE..
This film has a very modern film noir look to it but, with a 1960s esc look to it Set as a comedy, it does what it says on the tin. Very funny with a Whit and humour that really makes me proud to be a fan of carry on and peter sellers The amazing amount of actors couldn't be contained in one paragraph but lets name a few Jude law. Bill Murray. Ralph Fiennes (voldamort) and many more to mention The actors make this film what it is' funny charming and comedic Great cinematic blend of conceptual animation and video art mixed with some original 4 by 3 screen size to give it that old time look Amazingly directed and written but a small let down with the soundtrack But this comedic gem is brilliant and doesn't fail to disappoint Check it out 8 out of 10
Sparks (2013)
The Spark of a bad film
Has a sin city dark gritty feel to it. But don't compare any of the story to sin city Poorly written. The story although makes sense could use a lot of improvement, the story seemed to drag forever and there was an odd shift in pace through out the story Bad character development. I didn't find myself caring much for any of the characters. Seen as the characters had no real emotional keys that i liked Bad acting, Except from some key actors Clancy Brown / Jake Busey Nice graphical styling although some of the Cgi was a little poor in places Not much of a quality soundtrack All in all sparks scores a low 4 out of 10
The Monuments Men (2014)
A monumently good film
So it was single awareness day (Valentines day) and i thought rather than seeing the gooey goo stuff sprawled across the internet i would go and see a film It just so happened that The monument men was released on the same day So where do i begin A film based on a true story about a plot to gather back all the stolen art work from the Nazis in world war II, Not the worlds most gripping tale but a true one and a bold choice to do from a production standpoint.
Directed produced and even starring, in this film, is non other than George clooney and boy can he do all three. With a brilliant support cast to boot including the likes of Matt Damon, Billy Murray, Cate Blanchett, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Hugh Bonneville, Bob Balaban.
The cast really do nail their on screen persona's and deliver a movie which is both entertaining and comedic, With some brilliant one liners and good comedic character interaction between and precision with all the cast.
But this is no comedy this is a truth be all tale and really does tug at the heart strings in places. And as i was watching safe to say in areas of watching this film i was welling up inside, which is a brilliant thing. The film has emotion and some very brilliant moments where emotion is directed through the characters, which almost a quarter of the way through really makes you care about the characters you are meant to care about and hate the ones you are meant to hate .
The soundtrack to this film wont be stuck in your head BUT the music create a brilliant atmosphere behind the film and in instance's create the perfect tone And the backdrop and scenery used in this film to create a realistic 1943 look to world war II. Someone really has taken the time and effort scouting for the areas to make this film look as true as possible to the 1940s The only issue i could find to this film was the pacing. In some places its energetic and in others it is dull But all in all this movie is very much so deserving of a 8 OUT OF 10 Damian Hockey
Europa Report (2013)
Makes me rethink on moving to mars
Europa Report - Review
So i found this film by doing the usual thing, Stalking IMDb, I was in the middle of watching Elysium when i checked out what Sharlto Copley was in since Elysium. Which isn't much but it seems he only goes for interesting projects.
This movie is about a crew that is on a space mission to jupiters moon of Europa. But things are not what they seem, Cheesy but this movie really takes the expected and makes it unexpected
This film deals with an amazing cast (Most of them never heard of) Other than Sharlto copley and Embeth Davidtz - You know the one from Bicentennial Man and YES THAT IS HER WHOLE NAME, The full cast really take to their roles in the film creating a tense and dramatic scene in the film This movie although low budget (Less than $10 million) is far from low budget. With a MOON style approach using practical and cgi effects and creating a realistic setting and amazing sets and visuals
The cinematography is nothing special as it is filmed like a documentary. But at the same time really gives a realistic feel to the movie. Making it eerily scary The soundtrack really is something special that gives tension and atmosphere to the film.
All in all this film is very well written with some stunning visuals some dynamic characters and lots of unexpected twists
This has became one of my favorite sci fi movies (Just a shame it only made a fraction back compared to what it was made for $125,475 to be exact which is a shame BUT
I rate it 8 out of 10
If you are in to realistic Sci Fi watch this film
300: Rise of an Empire (2014)
300 rise of the awesome
300 RISE OF THE EMPIRE A blood and gorefest with a democratic underline Some amazing acting performances from Eva Green, Sullivan Stapleton and Lena Headey Some of the most amazing cinematic and artistic visual work with some of the best CGI and close enough to look like frank millers 300 comic Noam Murro does an amazing job of picking up where zack snyder left it.
If you are a fan of the original watch this and you will love it just as much if you are not a fan you may find this a little drawn out and the political side may bore you But personally as a fan of the original. But the original 300 is a slightly better standpoint for a story 8 out of 10
X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014)
Makes the original trilogy obsolete
xmen days of Futures past Not a bad film a little drawn out James macavoy and Michel fastbendar are amazing as emotional actors. And are very believable as allies and enemies Nice to have original trilogy vs origins Driven storyline if a little drawn out. But they try to get the most out of every character especially mystique who becomes a key character in this movie, and Jenifer Laurence certainly brings the character to a more human element Some brilliant comedy moments Fantastic CGI Bla bla bla nice score bla The issue is the way this movie changes the timeline of the first 3 xmen movies bla bla What more do you need its a Sony based xmen film . . . Fans of the series will love but I just enjoyed it 7 out of 10
Cheap Thrills (2013)
Cheaply thrilled for a good price
Cheap Thrills Movie Review Its been a while since i have reviewed a film, Partially due to my re addiction to dragon ball z and partially because there are no movies other than captain America that are worth seeing at this moment in time. But i came across a small gem of a movie A scheming couple put a struggling family man and his old friend through a series of increasingly twisted dares over the course of an evening at a local bar. These dares escalate and become more and more intense This movie is aimed at being a black comedy but becomes more of a thriller movie in the long run. And is well worth a watch especially for how intense it becomes halfway through the film Some great acting performances from some actors you barely know (Pat Healy, Ethan Embry, Sara Paxton, David Koechner) A dark an gritty backdrop with lots of moral compass story thrown in for good measure this film is well worth the time to watch My rating for this movie 6 out of 10 ps i have never cringed so much in my entire life
RoboCop (2014)
Dead or alive your coming with me
Dead or alive your coming with me Robocop a good modern take on an 80s classic.
So if you are looking for a great homage to the 80s bad ass cop made of metal and cool one liners, look no further. As this film will have you re- loving the Robocop you once knew
With a great story with sci fi elements mixed with political backdrops and human ethics thrown in for good measure this film creates a good twist of cool. Staring a cast of actors who really take to their roles. With a more human element to Robocop and his family, who was never really port-aid much in the original film more than just a memory now take more of a definitive role, and more of a fully fledged part in the film
A superb soundtrack mixing the original 80s soundtrack with a new mix and ranges which really have you reliving the epic Robocop feel
Average cgi (for a modern blockbuster) but more of a focus on practical effects when needed
But its not all praises around as this film could of been better with a 15 rating rather than a family friendly 12A, This is where they really missed out on an adult themed movie. And with Minor plot holes that hit the back of my mind quite a few times. And an addition of characters which could of not been used for good measure
But all in all a fun film to watch
This film earns a solid 7 out of 10
The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
Howl like you mean it
THE WOLF OF WALL STREET Lets start by saying, You know a film is good when Three old couples walk out due to the boorishness of a film, that is when you know you have made either an A grade movie or (A word i dislike using - FLOP) But this movie is far from a flop, this movie is receiving awards from every award ceremony on the planet, and why not? This movie is a bad ass mix of Scarface with comedy Brilliantly wrote to make you hate Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio) and love him at the same time, A film (no offense ladies) aimed at men.
A film about a coke snorting broker who loves hookers, and trust me there is plenty of both in this film, and did i mention coke on hookers? BUT Don't let the last paragraphs or two phase you, it is still worth a watch Leonardo DiCaprio love or hate him, proves throughout this movie he can play the most pompous douche bag (Say that in a Brooklyn accent) to have ever blessed our screens, with some of the best performances he has ever done.
With an amazing support cast of people this movie really stands out from the crowd and comes in to its own, With brilliant acting performances from Jonah hill (hell i thought id never say Jonah hill and great acting in the same sentence), Margot Robbie, Mathew McConaughey and many many more, Which all really come in to their own element of acting With some stunning CGI to the point where i could not tell whether it was cgi background scenery, This movie really went all out to make the backdrop perfect for this film There are some of the most funny laugh out loud moments in this film, This film has to be one of the best comedy's since 2010 (YES A BIG STATEMENT AGAINST THE HANGOVER FRANCHISE) but honestly some of the comedy is timed perfectly and although rude and ambiguous I LOVED EVER MINUTE OF IT Now downfalls to this film ITS LONG Three hours long to be exact even, If it is a perfect recondition of the book it really is a bladder killer (After a can of monster trust me you feel the strain 2 and a half hours in) The soundtrack is a little bit crappy but with some good backing songs here and there when needed And although the cinema-tics looked a little classic (being a Scorsese film and all) it wasn't bright or vibrant or had sweeping camera angles that i like to see in films like this Yes it scores a 8 out of 10 but with a few niggles here and there it really could of been a nine or at a stretch a ten Anyway you be the judge for yourself Damian Hockey
Ender's Game (2013)
A future sci fi classic
Where do i begin? I have read many a sci fi book but enders game is one book i have never got round to reading, So i can not compare this film to a book i have never read This film is outright brilliant, in many areas with next to none in shortcomings Lets begin with the story, Brilliantly wrote story of a boy having to deal with isolation and eventually acceptance by and for others, With some amazing emotional elements and very well wrote characters and character development in all aspects.
The soundtrack is amazing and sends chills and creates scintillating dramatic themes throughout the film with some very key music placed exactly where it is needed.
The acting in this movie is resplendent, I watched this film for the only establish actor Harrison ford, but in the long run found the entire cast enjoyable to watch. They all showed their acting talents in this film, and I'm hoping to see a lot more from these actors and actresses in the near future.
A graphically beautiful movie with some of the most spectacular CGI i have seen in a movie ever, The only downfall to the effects in this movie is lack of practical effects which could of been used in the film in key areas Overall i found this a extremely enjoyable film with action emotion and an overwhelming soundtrack 8 out of 10 Damian Hockey
Frozen (2013)
Despite the title a very heart warming film
An overall warm family friendly film with an overwhelming cuteness behind it, If you thought that TANGLED was good you are missing out if you haven't seen FROZEN
Possibly one of Disney best animated movies ever made, (i don't include pixar films as I have a different list for pixar films)
Many charming characters with some deep emotional back stories, some brilliant family friendly comedy,
Very well story boarded and has light and dark edges of cinematics which will keep you gripped to the edge of your seat in the action moments,
Possibly the best Disney movie soundtrack i have ever heard, The songs are very catchy and there are some amazingly talented singers within the cast which power house the performance of the movie
As the later years of Disney are around us this film goes to prove they can still make the movies that both adults and kids enjoy

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013)
Wasn't desolated for this movie
Was it worth the 12 month wait funk yeah An overall exciting and enjoyable film from start to finish with an EPIC (Yes the word had to be in bold) Story, Some amazing acting performances with many jokes and some amazing genuine moment acting, With each character being used to as full as a potential as possible with so many different characters to define in such a large film, (PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS PART IS BASED ON HFR 3D) Some of the most amazing visual effects, stunning cgi, and most amazingly smooth movie viewing i have ever seen 3D is usually a downfall of movies it become strain full to the eyes, But the hobbit desolation of smaug prove that with a smooth frame rate and the newest technology in 3D cinematic you can sit in front of a screen for long periods of time and not have your eyes feel like they are about to fall out your sockets, No downfall to action in this film at any instant and it will have you glued to your seat with your bladder ready to burst at any moment with the feeling that if you leave for a toilet break you will miss something important (Take note, my friend did go to the toilet and missed a very interesting scene in the movie, SO go to the toilet before hand this is a long film) So overall experience was excellent and i had far more fun watching this film compared to any of the LOTR trilogy and Unexpected journey This film score 9 out of 10
Grabbers (2012)
Drink up lads
A barrel of laughs ..... see what i did there.
Let me start by saying this film has charm, very funny with a very hot fuzz sense of humor behind it, No cheap gags or jokes and Some amazing cgi and some awesome practical effects used in this movie.
To say this is a low budget movie it certainly turned out to be a high production finish with a great cast. Some amazingly funny characters and some cracking one liners,
Beautifully filmed and has a very good Score behind the film adhering to the Irish theme.
so grab your drink lads and laugh it up i rate this film a high 8 out of 10
Elysium (2013)
Not bad but no district 9
Elysium isn't a bad movie just a disappointing movie. Being the Neil blokamp fan that i am i felt a little disappointing at the fact that after months wait YEARS for a movie to top one of my most highly rated sci fi films of all time (District 9) It didn't come, But i still hold hope chappie will be better As I've said its not bad, its exactly what i expect in some respect from Neil blokamp a futuristic thriller with lots of turns and a deep driving political message underneath, But it lacked character interaction. Jodie foster could of been written out of the plot entirely without anyone noticing, she was there as a name to promote, The film looked beautiful from a CGI perspective but i felt some of the action lacked what i wanted it to, E.g the Exo suits weren't quite what i was expecting i was looking for something with some far better fast pacing I loved the soundtrack and the cinematography was really good in lots of places but it still lacked what i wanted from this film Thats why i only rated it 7 out of 10
Stranded (2013)
A movie like most sci fi's
With a reasonably know cast (Christian Slater) (Brendan Fehr) (Amy Matysio) this film starts with an meteor strike on a moon base in the not to far off future, The people on the moon base are left STRANDED and have to fend for themselves, Meanwhile a fungus that has came from one of the meteors causes hallucinations causing the members of the base to have a heighten sense of fear causing all sorts of problems for all the crew members. (THATS THE PLOT OF THE STORY GUYS) With some amazing practical models (Quite like the models in Moon and not used enough in most films) but some poor visual effects (Smoke lighting) so on and so fourth it really shows the B movie SYFY channel quality about it.
Taking a hint of story line from movies such as escape velocity and sunshine, As a deep physiological thriller and horror which does not quite chill my bones With some very mediocre acting in places This film is neither thrilling but there are SCI FI's far worse than this film and at least i could sit through this movie which is not to long.
It is below average but not at the bottom of the pile for sci fi movies I rate this film 4 out of 10
The Hangover Part III (2013)
The Hangover III – No Hangover required
So this is a film which I was really hesitant to go see as The Hangover II left me with an utter sense of disappointment, But never judging a movie by its trailer (Usually trailers give far to much away) I decided to go watch this film with two of my best friends.
This film has a great beginning which although less chuckle worthy sets the film in motion, which helped drive what plot there was along, This characters are all still there but with more of a focus on the weird and wonderful Alan, Now for this point the film should not have been called the hangover III it should have been called Alan the movie which all in all is not a bad point BUT This film works on more of an Action / Thriller genre with humor thrown in where needed, And as a comedy, the writing has certainly changed to keep it fresh without the constant use of old jokes (Baby masturbating / monkey wenis) The comedy is extremely funny in places but with some obvious cheap laughs thrown in because some of the scenes would seem bland.
On the directing front this is still directed by the same director todd phillips, although with the directing style and the cinematic shots you would not honestly be able to tell. But this also goes to show he is a diverse Director with a good future in action movies in his future too As with all the hangover films the soundtrack is brilliantly chosen which adds to the chaos we usually see in the film Some fresh faces turn up here and there and some old faces that was not quite as memorable and lots of type cast roles (John Goodman) but still with some great acting This film will have you laughing but wishing it was better than the original This film scores a 7 / 10 Not too original but also a better than average comedy
Epic (2013)
EPIC THE MOVIE (Not to be confused with EPIC MOVIE)
EPIC Is an all out family animated movie that is beautiful visually, And full of that family fun element that we all have came to love and enjoy.
Sadly I could not bring my nieces and nephews and had to watch this with one of my best friends, I walked into the cinema and expected at least half of the seats taken for this EPIC animated movie, I was wrong other than myself and my friend there was ONE old man sat in the center of the cinema in the VIP area, BUT don't let this deter you from seeing this film Of course if you go to watch this film and if you are a man make sure you bring a girl who is interested in watching this movie, That is because this movie is aimed at a family that largely consists of girls, Although not to far to throw off a male audience The film in its self is very likable although a little slow for the first twenty minutes or so, which for a film largely aimed at a family is a little to long, But after the slow introduction there is an interesting storyline and wide variety of characters, Some that you grow to love and some that become somewhat annoying rather than an added character of interest.
The film is a visually beautiful film with some amazing rendering and some realistic character design, Although I do not look at this film that has been made for 3D it does quite well creating a great illusion of depth for the wider shots of the forest, Or the close shots of birds and other creatures The writing in this film is very solid for a family film, Not quite as solid as Shrek or Toy story but enough to drag you into there world and characters, With some good comedy here and there, Only GOOD because the comedy is more aimed at children and teenagers rather than an adult audience, Compared to the writing you get in shrek, But still a chuckle that is very well received by two twenty something lads Although this film was great from a writing standpoint there was parts of this film which had pacing issues but luckily the parts that had a fast pace made up for the parts with a slower pace.
The music was very forgettable which was a real shame because I quite like the work of Danny Elfman and I was expecting his traditional style of music. Although forgettable the music is very dramatic and works throughout the entire film, This film all in all is a good family fun film and my marks for this film score an average of 6 / 10
Zombieland (2013)
Zombie land the series episode one review
So I'm going to start by saying I'm a HUGE fan of the Zombieland movie and as a man who is very much in love with zombies (Not in a necrophilia sort of sense) but a literally i cant get enough of ZOM COMS sense, I wasn't holding much hope for the TV series But episode one might just prove me wrong, With an excellent introduction to one of our main and favorite characters this episode will let you hold on for hope that this series might be the comedic bone tickling series we all really want, With some brilliant choice in casting (Seen as the stars from zombie land the movie are currently too busy) Zombieland the series will make you feel right at home with the characters from the movie we all know and love, Well except for bill Murray of course, With new rules to zombie land and a new take on Columbus and Wichita's relationship there is also a great character depth which we didn't see in the movie, and it seems like it will progress the more we watch, The humor keeps on coming like a banjo to the face and will keep you laughing throughout from the subtle humor here to the rock in the face there we will just have to see how the series takes us SO FAR SO GOO 7 / 10
21 & Over (2013)
21 and over Review
In all honesty i was looking forward to this film, After the trailer showed us a rip roaring comedy with plenty of that silly teenage comedy we have all came to know and love The part of this trailer states from the people who brought you The Hangover, (Must of been the script writer) as this film shows every sign of a Hangover film, with all its twists and turns and 3 friends who really don't have a clue where their night will take them Does this mean i like the movie NO! Don't kid yourself, This film has very rare laughs, and by rare i mean every once in a while you will give in to you're childishness and laugh at a moment you would not generally choose to laugh at, From the cheesy teenage hijinks production of seen it all before and far better done, to the oh they really went there I could forgive this film a lot more if it wasn't for the huge gaping plot holes in the film that make the entire movie obsolete from the get go Non of the characters are very likable, (even the one you're meant to like is unlikeable) Maybe I'm just picking at a movie which just either was not my humor (Although the hangover and American pie are my favorite comedy's) or just a film which tried to hard to be the film people we're expecting I personally give this film a 4 out of 10 Be the judge yourself
