Simpatico (1999)
Why is Catherine Keener ignored?
Why doesn't Catherine Keener get any credit for this film? Is it because Sharon Stone is blonde? Keener has the third largest role in the film yet is nearly invisible in the credits, on the box, in the comments on this site, etc. Sharon Stone has about five lines. No offense to Sharon Stone but I'm not sure what the big deal about her is, especially in this film. I thought Keener was really good as the ethical, somewhat naive person getting involved with people whose motivations and backgrounds were not necessarily as simple as hers. I think Sharon Stone got top billing for being Sharon Stone, not for anything she did in this film.
Maybe Catherine Keener should bleach her hair... (joke)
My Life Without Me (2003)
two great lines and one glaring error
Not a bad flick overall. Here's my timeless wisdom about it: The two best lines in the movie: 1) "Nobody thinks about death in a supermarket." 2) "Milli Vanilli is universal." And now for the glaring error: Although Ann the neighbor had truly stunning brown eyes, as a nurse she should have known (as should the director) that SIAMESE TWINS CAN'T BE A BOY AND A GIRL, THEY COME FROM THE SAME EGG! I liked the way the trailer filming was done, very effective close ups effectively portrayed how crowded it was. I wanted to find out what the father did to end up in jail. Best of all, I finally found out what happened to Debbie Harry, who I last saw singing RAPTURE.
