The Patrick Star Show (2021)
somehow worse that kamp koral
Nickelodeon seems to be trying to run spongebob into the ground at this point. There was no reason for patrick to have a show of his own and this is a perfect example of why.
Mulan (2020)
A fresh tale Better than the animated version
I'm absolutely blown away with how beautiful this movie was. Instead of repeating the same exact story of the cartoon from the 90s (which was riddled with issues and disrespect towards Chinese culture from Mushu to the Emperor bowing for Mulan) this version really tells a story much faithful to the original tale. This is honestly hands down the best disney film since Cinderella (2015).
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn (2020)
Don't go in thinking this is an "SJW" movie
It's easy to be upset about what this movie isn't. No there's no Barbara yet, no it's not Gotham City Sirens, but for what it is it's actually a very enjoyable movie.
Margot robbie was amazing as Harley even more so than in Suicide Squad and after seeing her determination to get this movie made, I truly saw why this project means so much to her. There was no point where it seemed like she was trying to make this movie the Harley quinn show but rather a film that spotlights a multitude of DC women who if not for this movie probably wouldn't have seen the light of day this early in the DCEU.
The movie is very funny and has great action scenes, but what makes it most enjoyable is the cast.
Jurnee and Mary killed it at Huntress and Black Canary. This movie is meant to be a backdoor pilot for the Birds of Prey team and it does a really great job setting up their stories so they could operate as the team we've come to know from the comics. Rosie perez makes a great performance as Renee. Ewan was FANTASTIC as Black Mask and his dynamic with Victor Zsasz was great to watch.
Lastly, although Cassandra Cain isn't the same cassandra we know and love from the comics, Ella Jay Basco does an amazing job portraying the Cassandra we see in the film. I can definitely see her shaping into a more comics accurate version of the character in the future.
This isn't the WOKE SJW movie trolls are saying it is. The movie deal with daily misogyny that women have to go through yes but it doesn't come off as an "agenda", it's just things that women today deal with often. A female led movie can be empowering without being dismissed as trying to be woke.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
the internet complains too much
This movie is NOT as bad as people are making it out to be. The way this film concludes the saga as a whole was done very well. It was very enjoyable film.
SPOILERS: Palpatine being brought back as a puppeteer in the grand scheme fit nearly perfectly and having Rey be his granddaughter and her rejecting the family name and carrying on the skywalker legacy was a fitting way to end to the SKYWALKER saga.
Descendants 3 (2019)
Best in the series
From The story that has underlying themes in regards to Immigration to the acting, cinematography and effects, I found it hard to believe this was a film that came out of disney channel. Easily the best movie out of the trilogy. The songs are better, the dancing is better, the stakes are better. Kenny Ortega concluded yet another trilogy perfectly
The Lion King (2019)
It's not meant to top or replace the original
One of the main criticisms I keep seeing about these live action remakes are that they won't top the originals. This movie isn't meant to replace or be better than the original but be a celebration of the story we love and view it in a new light.
Lion King played a major role in my childhood and from the moment circle of life started I was in tears reliving the nostalgic feeling of what I grew up with.
The visuals were phenomenal and I am someone who LOVES how photo realistic they decided to make this remake. I enjoyed the new elements they added with Nala's character and the voice cast really does a great job as a whole. It's easily one of my favorite of these Disney remakes alongside Cinderella and Aladdin.
Kim Possible (2019)
Pleasantly surprised
As someone who grew up with the original, I was apprehensive about this movie. I went in with little to no expectations and ended up coming out pleasantly surprised. Though some of the action is a bit....over the top.... The actors who play Kim, Ron And Shego capture the essence of their animated counterpart faithfully.
Life-Size 2 (2018)
Pleasantly Surprised
I was hesitant with this film when it was said Lindsay wasn't gonna be in it anymore but even though we don't see Casey her presence is still felt. The actors were great in my opinion and I thought overall it was a very cute holiday movie/ indirect sequel to the first film
