Skam (2015)
Cried, screamed, held my breath and cried again
Too many emotions. Loved it. I brought up topics of sex, sexuality, religion, friendship, discrimination, eating disorders, and mental health. I loved it so much. At the start of the first season I was just watching another chick flick. But by the end of it tears were flowing in an unbroken stream. I saw characters grow, face their challenges and came out triumphant. A truly touching show.
Terrace House: Boys & Girls in the City (2015)
Reality in it's purest form
Terrace house encapsulates what it means to be a reality TV show. I'm so sick of eliminations, challenges, prize money, and roses. The show documents 6 strangers living together and the engagement together nothing more nothing more, nothing less. Members still go to work, go grocery shopping, and have phones. At first, I was expecting something like big brother but japanese reality is another form of reality together. To enjoy this show, you need to have an open mind and your preconceptions about reality from western TV shows need to be abolished. Beautiful Camera work.
