The Fairly OddParents (2001)
One of the most original Nicktoons
The Fairly OddParents is definitely one of the most original Nicktoons on the air. It is also one of the last Nicktoons I appreciate. I remember watching the first episode of this cartoon way before it became a show in 2001. I didn't really get into this show until 2002. I was 17 when I got into this cartoon. I was extremely depressed one day February, so I turned on my TV. I tuned to Nick and I saw this show on. At first, I thought this cartoon only appealed to little kids. As I got absorbed into this show, I eventually started to watch it regularly. In my opinion, this cartoon is better than SpongeBob SquarePants. I've seen just about every single episode and all of the TV movies. I really enjoy watching this show. From time to time, I'll sit down and watch this show. I'm now 21 and I still think this show is funny. This is not only a cartoon for little kids that are about 6-9 years old. It has some humor that I actually get. The Fairly OddParents are definitely the best Nicktoon of the 2000's.
I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988)
A funny action movie by the one and only Keenan Ivory Wayans!
This is a pretty funny movie. I couldn't believe I overlooked this classic comedy until I rented it recently. My friends and I were laughing very much when we saw this movie. This was way before Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood and Keenan had a minor role as a mailman. In this movie, he does a great job of directing and acting as Jack Spade. It's hard to believe that Chris Rock was in this movie. This would be his second movie and his last movie he would appear in the 80's. He looked really young back then and I thought he did an incredible job at acting. Even though he has a very minor role in the film, he does a great job at it. If you're a fan of Chris Rock, you'll like his performance in this one. This is a good movie to watch with your friends on a Friday night. So if you like really funny movies with a good soundtrack, see this movie. You won't be disappointed wit this movie at all.
The Weekenders (2000)
The Best Cartoon Series Disney Ever Released
The Weekenders is pretty much about 4 best friends living for the weekend. Doug Langdale is a genius for creating this great cartoon for Disney. It is simply the best Disney cartoon series has came out with in a long time. It's a shame that Disney discontinued it late in 2001. They didn't even have a chance to make merchandise for this show.
At first, I thought this was an awful cartoon when I saw it in 2000. I was about 15 or 16 at the time and I just thought it was really lame. A couple of years later, I watched it again. I didn't know it at the time, but ABC was going to pull the show off their lineup of shows. I would of never seen this show again if I never got satellite. I did get satellite and I found the channel it was on.
This is probably the most realistic cartoon of all time, in my opinion. The episodes deal with some things that kids can relate to. Even though I wasn't really a kid after I watched it, I thought it was a funny cartoon. I sort of related to some of the things that were on the episodes when I was a kid.
Well, it's really too bad that this cartoon didn't make it that far. They never even made that much off this cartoon. Oh well, I guess kids these days want to watch stupid mindless cartoons like Yu-Gi-Oh. I remember it beat Pokemon in the ratings at one point. Anyway, this cartoon is possibly the best cartoon of all time. For those who want to compare this to Recess, you can't really compare them together. Yes, there may be some similarities, but the Weekenders is the better cartoon.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
The Best Prequel Out of All The Prequels
I thought this one was better than the previous prequels. I felt this one had the best special effects and storyline. I was not disappointed at this one at all. George Lucas still hasn't lost his touch with this movie. In this one, Star Wars fans get a better perspective on how Darth Vader orginated. At first he's just a Jedi who turns to the darkside. Of course, all Star Wars fans know that. But the not so serious ones like me get a better perspective on how Anakin Skywalker turns to the darkside.
It all happens when the chancellor talks to Anakin about the darkside. This gets him interested in the darkside. It is later revealed that the chancellor is a sith and later causes mayhem. At first, he gets arrested by Mace Windu and the other guys.
Just right when Mace Windu was going to finish Palpatine off, Anakin butts in and kills Mace Windu. It's sad that Windu gets killed by Anakin. I thought that was a really bad way to die. One of the most disturbing scenes in the entire film is when Anakin (now called Darth Vader at this points) kills the younglings. I thought that was just wrong and sad.
In the end, they show the birth of Luke and Leia. It's quite sad that Padmé dies. Then of course, you see Darth Vader becoming the true Darth Vader with the helmet and gear. I was a little disappointed that only showed the true Darth Vader for a brief amount of time.
Pretty much, I predicted this to be good. Before this came out, I predicted this Star Wars film would have the best special effects, I was right on the money. Not only did it have good special effects, it had a great plot. This is a must see for Star Wars fans.
