Kokuriko-zaka kara (2011)
A beautiful and warm movie
I have to say that I really enjoyed the whole one and a half hours watching this great movie. This movie will give you a very fresh breeze of happiness and leave you with joys. The main characters and their interactions were portrayed very real, though a little bit matured. That may be because they lived in a time not so long after the war. I truly felt happy for the little couple by the end of the movie. It makes me miss my high school time a little bit. Japanese anime knows how to evoke that nostalgic feeling effortlessly. Let's welcome another soon-to-be classic, along with Totoro or Whisper of the Heart. I am looking forward to experience another great projects from the Ghibli studio.
Kaze no tani no Naushika (1984)
Worth watching!
This is a very beautiful movie. Watch it alone and enjoy the grand music, great plots and attractive drawings. I literally kept my breath during some scenes, especially when the two main characters fell into the poisonous jungle without the masks. I don't know but this movie somehow reminds me of The Lord of the Rings. May be they inspired each other? Any way, it would be nicer if the two main characters had some kinds of romantic emotional development towards the end of the movie, like the couples in Princess Mononoke or Laputa. But I couldn't complain since it has many other beautiful aspects. Overall, I enjoyed watching this piece very much. And I am sure you will.
