Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Laughed so hard!
Excellent😩 The scenes wend beautifully into and out of each other. Great lighting and acting. Some scenes had me laughing out honking amens.
Les petits mouchoirs (2010)
A bit of a slog at first but gets round at last
It's so slow that it's like a penitence at first, but that's alright.
If a biopic about Frank Lampard is ever filmed then Gilles Lelouche should play Frank. Apart from that he's have to work his accent a lot, he's a spitting image.
Blowing bubbles.
Colette (2018)
The first part of Colette's career
The film "Colette" shed an accurately conveyed impression on Willy's influence on Colette. Although he was a manipulative so and so he did bring her talent about.
Initially the film is slow and it's not clear where it is heading as there are so many abrupt 'tableaux' transitions. Also it takes a while to accept the casting of Keira Knightley as Colette though it does make sense in the end: in part through the appreciation of her gutsy performance. Colette herself would have appreciated and been flattered. There are probably some inaccuracies in the script and some adaption if the timeline but if it adds to the storytelling it is fine.
A slow burner at first but appreciated after all. Sequels would be welcome since this film only encompasses the first stage of Colette's career.
La Môme (2007)
A compelling biopic- more than just a biopic- it is a passionate recounting of a great artist' s life.
Very moving, with great transitions and appropriate flash-backs. Marion Cotillard embodies Edith Piaf to the full-extent.
